My precious Boston Terrier, Oban was so sick and there's no other place I would take him even though I now live in Raymore. I drove 30 minutes to make sure he got the right care. Y'all-listen to me when I say I am picky as HELLLLLL when it comes to my fur babies. I don't accept anything less than superior service, product, etc and this place meets the mark across the board. Walking in the waiting room is very tiny, and not a lot of overhead, which I appreciate. I don't need a lot of fluff, I'd rather the experience speak for itself. It looks like there are 2 exam rooms, and then a back part. The rooms are basic, but meet the needs. The ladies in the front are so kind and sweet! Answered all of my first time questions with a smile!  With all of that being said, I feel it's important to note-I decided to switch to this practice for a number of reasons, but the one that sent us here Thursday was because I just didn't see any progress in my dog, and needed a second opinion. I brought my youngest in because she was limping for about a week. Doctor Jablonski is the real, freaking, deal. He gave Buttons an exam and told us right away what the problem was (torn acl) and gave us our options- which lets be honest, rarely happens. Usually a vet tells you what's wrong, tells you that you need surgery, and you go home to research it yourself to find other options, at least that's what I do. But Dr. Jablonski told us everything, the good/bad/ugly and listened to my concerns (not my first torn ACL with this one) and walked me through all of my options. He knows his medicine, and has in three days done more than my previous vet did for Buttons in a week-which means the world. I also appreciate they do surgeries/have the ability to do surgeries with staff located in the office. Coming from a place that sent to us to Blue Pearl for anything that wasn't a basic office visit, I didn't realize how valuable that truly was. I have an appointment for the girls to get their yearly shots on Monday, so I'll know more about their preventative medicine/how they handle themselves in those situations, but I can't imagine it'd be anything less than amazing. But, with that being said, my other dog Noodles (is anxious/can be overwhelming) so I'll update on how it goes with her! Read Less

After having the same vet for my pup's first 5 years, I was super selective about choosing a vet when I moved to the KC area. We've been coming here for 3 years now and I can't even describe how excited she gets when I tell her "we are going to see Dr. Cain!" Deer Creek has made such an incredible impact on the well being of my pets. They're patient with my pets and notify me promptly when needed if I drop them off. I've also been using their daycare services for over a year now and have been very pleased with the program. My dog's social skills have improved and she's become quite close with the staff members. All members of the staff are very friendly and always remember my pets and I. I trust them fully with the care of my pets. Not one to usually submit reviews, but in this instance we had to say how grateful we are to Dr. Cain and his staff for the wonderful service they provided in saving our dog's life when two other vets could not find the cause of his illness. The follow-up by the doctor and his staff members was above and beyond anything we could have expected. We appreciated their dedication and for truly caring about our beloved family member. On another note, our second dog needed some dental work; again, the care and dedication of the staff was outstanding. We felt that our pets were cared for professionally, lovingly, and at the price ranges previously discussed. We had an awful experience. We followed our vet from prairie village animal hospital to this new clinic because we loved him. We had our new puppy get neutered and have some teeth pulled here. I called ahead of the visit to confirm the price. At the pre-op appointment the price was again confirmed. They were even advertising the dental procedure special price on their door. When it came time to pick up our dog after the procedure the cost was WAY more than what we had been told. After telling them we were told another price and how upsetting this was all they could tell us was that "they would make a note in our chart to go over pricing better next time"!? That is NOT customer service! The same thing happened to my friend who is now never going back. She was told one price and was charged way more after her appointment was over. When I went back for my dogs post-op appointment I told them again how upsetting this ordeal was and that it clearly wasn't an isolated incident if it happened to someone else. All they could do for me was tell me that "they will go over pricing with their workers." This was so poorly handled. You should honor the price you tell us before we commit to a procedure and then are snaggled into paying a ridiculously different amount. And don't advertise specials on your door if you don't plan to honor them. And if there are exclusions it needs to be on your door advertisements. It truly is sad that no one followed up with us on this issue and that you have lost our business. We loved Dr. Jablonski but cannot afford to pay different than what was promised. When we moved to Kansas, my biggest concern was finding a Vet for our fur babies that was going to be as good as our last one. It took us trying five Vets all around KC, but we actually found one that is even better than our last one. I can't say enough about Dr. Cain and the staff. They know what they are doing, will take the time to get to know our animals and answer our questions, and tell us all our options. So happy we have found this place! Read Less

I lost my dear friend & pet, Henry this morning after I took him to Deer Creek last Thursday morning, 8/25. The care, love and respect that Dr. Cain, Jenny Cain and the entire staff afforded both Henry and myself during the past week was so much appreciated and admired. Dr. Cain and staff kept me informed day and night on how my guy was doing. I actually gave up hope before Dr. Cain did. Together, my Henry was taken out of pain this morning after no hope left. I got to witness the heart & soul that Dr. Cain and his staff put into their love of animals and their loved ones for the past week. I am at best an infrequent poster on any board. However these folks are top shelf and deserve the praise they receive. I thought I'd add my own. It's clear to me that the Cains have chosen veterinary medicine for all the right reasons and have a thriving practice in return. They love their clients (some of the owners too...) and surround themselves with like minded, attentive staff who provide the best care possible. I drive 20 some odd minutes for my pets to see them, and pass a handful of closer vet offices along the way. I can't recommend them enough. Read Less

Dr. Russell Cain is an awesome vet. I briefly explained to him what was going on with my pet one day (not realizing he was a vet) and he was like bring your dog into my clinic and I will check it out. The man is amazing. Figured out what was going on with my dog almost immediately. He gave me an honest diagnosis and suggestions for care. I am extremely grateful knowing he can resolve the issues. Dr. Cain is amazing! He takes "going above and beyond" to a whole new level, and his love for the animals he cares for is obvious. He takes each pet's need€and the owner's€into account, is extremely understanding, and doesn't push products or services. And he's just a super nice guy! I've worked in vet clinics, volunteered in animal shelters, and known a lot of vets, and Dr. Cain is the best I've encountered. The staff is wonderful, too. I can't begin  to express how THANKFUL I am for Deer Creek Animal Hospital.My poor puppy's eye was ripped out by a possum 2 days before I moved from Florida. He had an emergency surgery from a clinic before we left that went horribly wrong ( talk about terrible )  Needless to say God BLESSED us with this awesome, professional, clean and caring hospital. I was so impressed by the entire staff and how genuine and sincere they were. We were in dyer need of help and Deer Creek Animal Hospital truly made a difference in our holidays especially through such challenging times. I would rate this place a 10 if I could.
