I have taken both German Shepards to Dr. Truman who is the most educated, thorough and thoughtful vet! Not to mention, practices holistic treatment for animals and does not encourage treatments animals do not need. I have been to a few vets and didn't have the  best experience, BUT once I started taking my dog to Dr. Truman, I knew it would be permanent. Dr. Truman is great! We love Dr. Truman!! She is so wonderful and friendly to our pets. I love that she really takes her time to get to the root of the problem instead of "here is an antibiotic" like other vets do. She always starts with the easiest treatment option first so our pets aren't overmedicated. Most of the time it works too! I feel like she truly cares about each one of our fur kids! Dr. Truman and staff are wonderful to both animals and their people.  I have had a long standing relationship with them in the care of a small purebred dog I inherited, a pound cat, and a stray mixed breed dog who "adopted" us.  Dr. Truman has educated me in the care of each as they aged, and through the loss of two of these beloved companions.  She's been receptive to my research and remarkably patient with my concerns in making a treatment plan.  It's difficult to find a more caring and generous doctor who can negotiate both animals and people as well as Dr. Truman and her staff do.  Metcalf South Animal Hospital is a real find. Dr Truman really is great.  I just adopted a cat and I was lucky enough to pick her name from the list the shelter gave me of places that had contacted and set up either low cost or free first appointments.  I am so thankful that she was the one I picked.  I took my cat in, who had been coughing/weezing a bit, and instead of trying to upsell me on medication after medication she said that it's likely to be furball and that there are some other options.  She also does vaccines on a 3-year schedule, so she tries to save her patients even more money.She's a very knowledgable vet and an even nicer person.  I'm really so thankful I found her.
