If I could give this location less than 1 Star, I would. We have been patients at Oxford for years, approx. 9. We have used this clinic for grooming, boarding, and vet care for both of our animals. Today, I went in and was called a liar, deadbeat pet owner, & common thief while trying to drop my dog off for boarding/grooming/vet care to be done while we were on vacation. On the 21st I spoke with Kayleigh regarding my dog staying at the facility for 12 days. She told me the fees would be around $600, which is normal for Oxford (their fees are some of the highest in the area by the way). I didn’t think twice about it because we had a similar stay a few years ago that was almost a $1000. So Kayleigh booked the appt & said she would have someone call me if they needed more information. So today, I go to ldrop off my dog & the lady checking me in says there’s a note on my account. She said that the note says I must put down a deposit of at least half the estimated bill costs before drop off. I asked if this was a new policy and she said that it wasn’t, it was on my account. I asked to speak with whomever chose to put the note on my account, because in all the years we’ve been patients, I’ve never challenged or ran out on any bill for my animals. She told me the “owner” was the one who made the note and she was not in. I asked for her to call her because this was not normal. What did I, specifically, do to be singled out for this unwritten policy? If I did something, then by all means punish me, but all I’ve ever done is pay my bill on time and use your Clinic for both my animals. The checkin lady had to speak to another Dr (not the owner), who also could not tell me what why I was being told this. She said two people were claiming to have spoken to me regarding this. So now I’m a liar?! No one called me or my husband. There were no messages left, nothing. I even sat there and looked at my phone log, while they decided whether or not I was worthy enough to pay them $600 for my dog’s stay, and no calls were in my call log except the one I made to them on the 21st. I was told that people have just dropped their pet off and not came back to pick them up. Is this me?!? Have I ever done this?? Show me one time where I have left an animal, then I will understand, but you can’t show me something that has never happened! After all the back and forth between the doctor on duty and the “owner” it was decided that they were standing firm on this new-for-me-policy. I was contemplating putting the deposit on my credit card when my husband stepped in and said that WE ARE THE CUSTOMER AND HE REFUSED TO STAND FOR THIS TREATMENT AFTER SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WITH THEM. We have decided to no longer use their services for ANYTHING. We would gladly pay our $600 to another Clinic who appreciates our business. The original doctor who opened the clinic was amazing, but unfortunately when he died, the spirit of the place died with him. These people don’t care about animals, they care about money. That’s evident in the way I was treated, as well as the steady increase in pricing over the last couple of years. We have paid thousands of dollars to this clinic over several years because we have used them for boarding, grooming, vet, day care, etc. for our dog and cat. To be treated like a common criminal, animal abuser, and a thief was just the most terrible feeling. It’s like they said to me, “thanks for your loyalty as a patient, and all the money you’ve spent with us over the years, but your credit is no longer good here!” What’s really sad is we were warned by friends years ago who left, but we stuck around. ETA: Thank you for offering to speak w/ me concerning this matter. However, I have dealt w/ enough abuse from your business. There is nothing more to discuss. We are seeking vet care elsewhere for our two animals. Your facility left me in quite a predicament, as we were leaving for vacation the very next morning. I refuse to do business with anyone who does not put their loyal/longtime customers first. Read Less

My family loves Oxford Animal Hospital!!!! We moved here about 4 1/2 years ago. At that time, we had a senior German Shepherd and a Bulldog. The Shepherd was too frail to ride back and forth to the vet and the Bulldog had issues with getting overly excited when going to the vet. We almost lost him the last time he went to the vet back home. So, we were looking for a vet close to us that could come to our home if we needed them. This is where Oxford Animal Hospital came into play. Our delicate flowers (lol) were able to stay in the comforts of their own home while getting check ups, shots, nail trims, blood work, etc. It really helped lessen my fur babies stress levels. A year later, we had to put our German Shepherd to sleep. The Vet came to our home and my sweet girl was able to cross the rainbow bridge in her bed surrounded by her family who loved her. Once again, stress level much lower (even under the circumstances) and the love that was shown to me and my family goes above and beyond! They had my fur baby’s ashes back to me by the end of that day. I can’t even explain how much that meant to me. This is when I realized just how much they care about their patients and clients. Oxford Animal Hospital became part of our family on this day. Fast forward, we have since lost both the dogs that moved here with us and now have 2 more dogs. They both go to see Dr. Maason and Dr. Lewis at the office. I absolutely love these two Doctors and so do my dogs. They are family as I stated before. I always ask one question to the Vets that take care of my animals. “If it were your pet, what would you do?” Drs Maason and Lewis always give me a honest response, even if it’s not the answer I was looking for. I trust them and respect them for their honesty. The staff has always been super as well. I’m always greatful for the wonderful techs, groomers and everyone else that works in the back. I love seeing them and sharing a laugh when we are there for a visit. As far as the front desk. Yes, there have been turnovers here and there but you have to expect that wherever you go. The new front desk employees have been nothing but nice and do their very best to quickly get to know me and my pets. I appreciate that. :-) My fur babies are very special to me and I have no doubt that many others feel the same way about their fur babies. I know we are in great hands at Oxford Animal Hospital. Try them out for yourself. Read Less

This was my first and last time at this vet. I had just adopted my dog and was looking for a vet for her. I have had dogs for years and suspected my new addition had worms. They told me to bring in a sample for the appointment. I assumed they would just take a look under the microscope to confirm, but no they sent it out to a lab for analysis. They told me it was cheaper to do it that way then to do it themselves. How does that make sense? They called the next day and said the test for worms was negative, however she was concerned about some bacteria and wanted to prescribe a medication for it. I took my dog to a different vet the next day for a second opinion. No tests no extra money no extra medicine, just a wormer and we were in and out in 30 minutes and my dog is great. The appointment itself at Oxford took way too long. I was there for nearly 2 hours and nothing was accomplished except a smaller balance in the bank account. They seem to nickel and dime you for unnecessary things. I will not return. The whole vibe at the second place I went was so much better. Read Less

We had a beloved elderly cat who was dying of kidney disease when we moved to Overland Park. Oxford was his veterinary home, and the staff was gracious and compassionate when his health declined further and it came time to make final decisions about his suffering. We were torn between letting him die at home or euthanizing this beloved soul who had brought us so much joy and companionship. The staff helped us make the rough decision to euthanize, and we agonized all night before the scheduled day. Mercifully, Buddy passed in the night in our arms at home. The staff at Oxford were so supportive and loving, it was a better experience than we could have expected. We memorialized our pet with a special river stone and gave them a copy for their memory well. They have been wonderful to us, and, we now have a new kitten who is getting the best care possible at Oxford Animal Hospital. Please consider their practice if you live here and need a great wellness team to help you care for your furry family member.Read Less

This vet is fantastic! We had just moved to the area when our 11 year-old dog got sick. We brought it to Oxford because it was close and had good ratings on FB and elsewhere. Our dog was diagnosed with cancer, so the vet at Oxford referred us to Blue Perl for chemo. But even though we had only been to Oxford once and were now receiving treatment elsewhere, the vet at Oxford called us every 3-4 days to see how our dog was doing and coordinated with the vets at Blue Perl to see how things were going. We thought the vet at Oxford was excellent at explaining our treatment options, as our dog was very sick and not responding well to treatment. Our dog only lived 3 weeks after the cancer diagnosis, and we had him put to sleep at Oxford. Everyone there was very helpful and caring. The vets and the staff at Oxford are very knowledgable, provide unbelievable service and follow-up (especially considering they had only seen us once), and are very caring.

Read Less

If I could give this location less than 1 Star, I would. We have been patients at Oxford Animal Hospital for years, approximately 9. We have used this clinic for grooming, boarding, and vet care care needs for both of our animals. Today, I went in and was called a liar, a deadbeat pet owner, and a common thief while trying to drop my dog off for boarding/grooming/vet care to be done while we were on vacation. On the 21st I called in and spoke with Kayleigh regarding my dog staying at the facility for 12 days. She told me the fees would be a little over $600, which is normal for Oxford (their fees are some of the highest in the area by the way). I didn’t think twice about it because we had a similar stay a few years ago that was almost a $1000. Again, it’s normal for this place. So Kayleigh booked the appointment and said she would have someone call me if they needed more information, as she usually didn’t do the appointments. So fast forward to today, no on called so I thought everything was okay. I go in to drop off my dog and the lady checking me in says there’s a note on my account. She said that the note says I must put down a deposit of at least half the estimated bill costs before dropping off my dog. The checkin lady had me to speak to another doctor (not the owner), who also could not tell me what why I was being told this. She said that two people were claiming to have spoken to me regarding this. So now I’m a liar?! No one called me or my husband. There were no messages left, nothing. I even sat there and looked at my phone log, while they decided whether or not I was worthy enough to pay them $600 for my dog’s stay, and no calls were in my call log except the one I made to them on the 21st. We have decided to no longer use their services for ANYTHING. We would gladly pay our $600 to another Clinic who appreciates our business. My hope is this review will save at least one person from being ridiculed by this joke of a vet. The original doctor who opened the clinic was amazing, but unfortunately when he died, the spirit of the place died with him. These people don’t care about animals, they care about money. That’s evident in the way I was treated, as well as the steady increase in pricing over the last couple of years.

Good but not great.  Very nice facility.  Very Nice staff.  Pricing seems pretty high, especially for teeth cleaning and extraction...you will spend hundreds of dollar for a single cleaning and one tooth extraction for your dog.  We had a mixup.  They are very careful to explain procedures and make you choose and sign how they provide services to your pet.  I asked to be called about tooth extractions before they perform, they did not, then did the extraction and charged me for it.  In the end, they made it right so a $400 charge ended up being more like $200.  No sure if we will go back.  Like everything about this place except the fees seem really high.
