This place is GREAT! They treat our dog great, and make common sense recommendations. I love that I can trust them and I can tell that they are not up-selling you just to make more money. We have been to other vets who want to run a long list of expensive tests just to treat an upset stomach. Sometimes Mission Animal Clinic even just recommends simple stuff like Zyrtec for allergies, or Metamucil for soft stool. If things need to be escalated from there, then they will do so if necessary, but again, I really appreciate their common sense approach as opposed to Banfield Animal Hospital Read Less

Been going here for years with three dogs. They have always accommodated us in every way. Our dogs aren't scared of going to the vet here. They never charge for things you don't need, and always explain everything beforehand. We've sent family and friends here and they all agree. We see Dr. Goodman who has always been extremely kind, gentle, and patient with our dogs (all who are rescues with different personalities.) Highly recommend. Read Less

We have been taking our dogs to Mission Animal Clinic for 10 years. I absolutely trust them 100%. They know us by name. The office staff and vet techs are always friendly and helpful. The vets are fantastic of course. I love that the staff almost never changes. That says a lot to me. My dogs are getting older and unfortunately we are in the office with them more than I wish we were. As long as I live in this area they will be my animals vet. Dr. Erickson is the absolute best! He has taken such good care of my diabetic cat and he has one too so he's understands the struggle. The techs/assistants are very friendly as well. My rating is really NO Stars. I used to take my cats to this clinic over ten years ago.  About ten years ago, Dr. Goodman misdiagnosed my cat Leon and ended up putting him to sleep when all he had to do was change the antibiotic he had put him on.  He was having diarrhea and was frequently getting dehydrated, so I took him in to have him checked. Dr. Goodman took a stool sample and said he had a high white blood count.  Leon kept getting diarrhea/dehydrated and I kept having to take him in to the er clinic to get him hydrated.  Dr. Goodman said it was probably some kind of cancer and since I could not afford any kind of treatments for him decided putting him to sleep would be my only alternative.  I know he misdiagnosed him because right after he was put to sleep my older cat came down with the same symptoms.  They gave her a different antibiotic and it cleared up immediately.  I will never forget being in the same room when he put Leon to sleep, he gave no sedative and put the death medicine directly into Leon's vein.  Leon cried out horribly in pain and then it was over.  I wanted to cry out and say STOP. but it was too late and his life was over.  This experience still haunts me every time I think about it.  I have never taken any of my pets there since.  Oh and they sent me a letter shortly afterwards saying they had made a large contribution to K State Vet Clinic on behalf of Leon.  Sounds like guilt to me. I may pay a little more for my vet services now but at least my vets know the difference between a GI bacterial infection and cancer and know how to treat it appropriately. Read Less

I have taken Tucker to Dr. Goodman for a little over a year now. He was very friendly and informative, spent a lot of time explaining my options for Tucker's anxiety which we decided didn't require any medication. He helped us weigh the benefits and cons to different preventative medications and never pushed unnecessary meds/procedures on us. As for the staff, everyone is very friendly and helpful. The vet techs are great and Tucker loves everyone at the clinic. I highly recommend them. Read Less

My dogs have been seeing Dr. Brown here for years.  He is very capable and competent.  Amendment- Dr. Brown has left the practice and we have transitioned our dogs' care to Dr. Goodman. We are as happy as before and the front desk staff is now much more cheery. The prices here are extraordinarily reasonable for the exceptional level of care you get. I won't go elsewhere. Read Less

I started going to this vet clinic when I lived down the street from it. Now, that I've moved and live pretty far, I haven't found anyone that compares, so I still drive to this location. I have taken my Labrador retrievers to Mission Animal Clinic for about 3 years now, and Dr. Erickson is our primary vet. I think he and his staff do a great job of taking care of my guys, and he isn't pushy with recommendations. His services are also very affordable, in my opinion. In my experience with Dr. Erickson, he is very honest. When my lab Stacia was diagnosed with a cancerous mast cell tumor this summer, he was the first to admit that he was not an oncologist, and consulted with 3 specialists regarding the unusual circumstance that proceeded. Long story short, he didn't push me into having a possibly unnecessary surgical procedure, and helped me weigh all of the options. About 12 years ago, I got a puppy.  I asked a dog-lover friend of mine if she recommended any vets.  She recommended Dr. Heath Brown at Mission Animal Clinic.  So we scheduled a check up.  He took very good care of our little guy.  Unfortunately, that puppy had a short life.  He had Encephalitis and passed away in an emergency room one night.  That emergency room notified Mission Animal Clinic since we noted they were our primary vet office.They quickly sent us a condolence card and made a donation to K-State's animal research department in our puppy's name.  Even though we had only had 2 visits for shots.We now take all 5 of our pets there.  Dr. Brown is still great at listening to me even when I know I can be over the top worried sometimes.  I once freaked out over what was probably a bug sting.  It had made my Great Dane's ear swell.  By the time I got her there, it was fine.  He did not charge me for checking even though he had every right to.  Now I'm not saying you should expect free service, just giving one of many examples of how they go above and beyond and treat you like family.When we arrive, they always say hi to our dogs by name and pet them.  I just assumed they knew their names because they were on the day's schedule.  However, they have walk-in hours on Saturday and they still know them by name when we show up unexpectedly.Dr. Brown always calls personally to follow up after our visits.  I can tell sometimes he's calling from home too.Their prices are so reasonable and Dr. Brown always talks through all options and their related pros and cons and costs so you can make a good decision.  I talked about Dr. Brown because that's who we usually see, however we have seen Dr. Erickson and Dr. Goodman and I can tell they would be the same way.  I have also talked with others that see those 2 vets regularly and love them as much as we love Dr. Brown.I know there will be a time that my pets will get old and eventually pass away.  I wouldn't want anyone else by our side to care for them.  I know for sure that they will feel a sense a loss as well with us. Excellent vets. I really enjoy going there. They are half of what my former vet off of 75th and i35 costs and are much more caring and nice. Both vets are great and the staff is helpful. When I first moved to Mission, I needed to find a vet for my dog because I was boarding him for 4th of July and he had to get updated on his shots so he wouldn't get kennel cough or anything else equally as nasty. Well, the vet and staff were VERY knowledgable and friendly. When I was in the examination room with the vet, he seemed like he really cared about my dog and tried to get to know him and me. Well, the vet administered a heartworm test and then called me to say that my dog tested positive for heartworm. It was a terrible thing to have to go through, but the vet was comforting and made sure I understood how heartworms worked and what we can do to kill them. During Charlie's procedure to get rid of the heartworms, the vet called me in the evenings when he went to personally check on Charlie. That sure made me feel a lot better knowing that Charlie was in good hands! I'm happy to say that Charlie is doing great and we haven't had any problems. Even though this is a small vet clinic, I totally recommend it. They really do care about their patients and make them feel welcome. Read Less
