I really like how family vet doesn’t try to pressure or guilt you into getting more shots for your pet other than the one you came for. I can tell this clinic really cares for the animals and aren’t in it just to make money. By far the best vet clinic I’ve ever visited. Caitlin Esparza is the Pet Groomer at Family Pet Hospital ! I was so thankful for the Excellent care my Papillion receives and for the Professional Styling he receives. I had tried different pet groomers all over Topeka and found I was disappointed in all of their styling. I have a Papillion and the other groomers trimmed him as a Scotty. I discussed this problem with Caitlin and she listened. When I returned for my Papillion, his cut was a Papillion hair cut. I was over joyed. Great place. We had been taking our dogs to the Wakarusa Veterinary Hospital in Lawrence(which I highly recommend), but since we moved to Tecumseh we were looking for something closer. When our border collie hurt his leg we called Family Pet Hospital for an appointment. The doctor was great. He was honest and straight forward, he wasn't pushy to perform other tests that could be expensive. He offered to take X-rays, if I felt more comfortable, but he didn't think they were needed. But I wanted them just to be on the safe side. They came back fine so it was my gamble I was willing to pay for, but their prices were very reasonable for the amount of time he spent with us. I am so thrilled to have been referred to Family Pet. Dr. Cook and the staff are wonderful. My yorkie had extensive dental work done yesterday and is doing great. I have been taking ALL of my pets to Dr. Cook and Crew for as long as I can remember...I think it dates back to the early 90's. With our most recent addition to our fur-babies, I now have a 9 month old Great Dane (Levi) that I did make an error when he was about 3 months and took him to another Vet. for 1 appointment, and then 2 follow-ups (for the convenience of being able to get him same day) and I will NEVER make that mistake again!! Dr. Cook has been my Vet. for all my pets since 1993. He has the kindest, gentlest hands you want to put your pets lives in. I did try ONE other Vet. in town, (my mistake) on ONE occasion and he was way to rough with my dog. I immediately went back to Dr. Cook. He will always be my pets Dr. for as long as he practices. We've had smooth transactions every time we've gone there. Our Rottliler needs her nails clipped every so often (she REALLY hates it) and they've always been good about getting her it quickly. They basically saved one of our cats with diet and a water IV. They showed us how to do the IV ourselves and got the supplies we needed. Very helpful. Read Less
