i brought my cat in for chiropractic treatment and she walked out 20x worser than when I brought her in. She could barely move off the table, then when I brought her home she limped all over the house...

She could barely move off the table, then when I brought her home she limped all over the house. The Doctor continued to adjust my cat after I told him that the Chiropractic treatment wasn't working. If you care for your animal, I really advise you not to bring your pet here!
Update: I took my cat to another VET in town and they said she is doing worse, because the vet failed to look at the Xrays, like i requested 20x before going, and while visiting. the vet continued to lie, like he had the xrays but never did. then the lady over the phone said they didn't need xrays to provide chiropractor services. please be aware and do not bring your pet here!

If I could give 100 stars I would. They are amazing. They did everything they could to help me and my bearded dragon Meri and tried to work with me around my finance problems at the time. They really cared about me and my dear Meri and after she passed they have been very helpful with my other dragon and my fears after loosing Meri. I recommend everyone with exotic pets (reptiles, birds, rodents) to this clinic because they are so wonderful and knowledgeable about all animals not just dogs and cats. I cant say anything bad about them and will continue going to them for ALL my veterinary needs for the rest of my life.

I called a week before my sons two puppies were to get the second round of shots.... the first visit was health checks and shots for 7 puppies which totaled $350...... so I called to see how much my son needed to plan on paying for 2 puppies second shots and they quoted me $38 per puppy which I thought to be kind of high but willing to pay ita.. he left saying he didn’t have enough because they charged him $140 for 2 puppies and all they did was give them ...one shot each!!!! Had we known they would charge $70 per puppy we would have gone somewhere else and that’s why I called and asked ahead of time!!!! And trying to call in the next day they say they are open at 8am but still not answering phones at 9:00am!!!! Horrible service!!!! No refund and their excuse was they misquoted and no refund. Do not go to this clinic!!!!! They lie and double charge without explanation!!!!!! See More

I starting using university vet YEARS ago when I owned exotic parrots. I no longer own parrots, but recently have acquired guinea pigs as my pets. Without exception, the care and knowledge that have been provided for both my parrots and guinea pigs has been exceptional. Office visits are incredibly reasonably priced. They have the equipment and knowledge to do most any evaluative test or surgery. My primary vet has been Dr. Snyder so I am most familiar with him. His knowledge and "out of the box" thinking to care for my pets is amazing. ANYBODY with an exotic pet, or even a cat or dog should definitely check them out! You won't be disappointed.

We took our kitty in for the first time today for her blood work and Dr. Guernsey was so patient with us and explained all our options and what the test results meant in such a way it was easy for us to understand. She treated us like we and our kitty were her most important patients and she had all the time in the world. We've seen Drs Snyder, Gratton and Guernsey but most of the time we've seen Dr Guernsey. She will go out of her way to consult with the exotic animal director at K-State when needed. And she always returns our calls right away. We definitely appreciate this little gem in Topeka!

Thank you so much to Dr. Snyder and his wonderful staff for taking care of my rat so many years ago and currently my Rottweiler Trout who was born with hip dysplasia and arthritis. Instead of having to put him down the week after we got him, Dr. Snyder has given us all kinds of information about his condition and how to keep him comfortable. His vet assistants are great as well, being friendly and fully capable of handling him (even if it takes a few of them). Instead of only having two weeks with Trout, he just turned five years old thanks to Dr. Snyder and his team. Couldn't ask for a more competent and friendly doctor.

But today after a short examination and a long repeated discussion they billed me nearly $90 for a half-nail clipping and a weeks worth anti-inflammatory. My dogs examination was about 10 minutes but the rest of today's visit was literally listening to a vet talk. I told the folks there, i'd have to return in a day as i didn't carry that much on me at the time and I wasn't excepting it to be so high but if they could just bill me or something to that extent. without even a moment the clerk asked " so could you call your father ?" Sorry what? (Now forgive and forget was the reason I rated this vet 5 stars because the attention my dog was given but the question was simply disappointing to say the least and something i really wouldn't recommend doing to your average customer- not a good choice) Anyways, after humoring her with a fake call out, the middlish aged woman at the desk requested that i have my father call tomorrow. That really was not something i wanted to hear for the first time let alone the second.
I do plan on going back soon, paying the bill and finishing out my dogs treatment but because of this incident i may not be coming back. The intrusion really disappointment me. Let it be known I'm a guy close to his mid 20's. Definitely not going to waste time listening far to patiently again.

Dr. Snyder has been most compassionate during my time of confusion and need. Hes never even met me, or my pet, and yet he is going above and beyond to help. He takes time out his day to assist me during a very scary time in mine and my pets life. He certainly doesnt have too. Saying Im appreciative isn't enough. I cant thank him enough either. Rusty will be coming here to seek additional therapy and care while hes on this earth with us. I will also make the drive here with some of my other rescues and its a great comfort to know I finally have a place to take our rescued exoctics! Thank you for being apart of Team Rusty!

These veterinarians are great! My husband and I had sick baby ducks. Our local vet did not know what to do. She referred us to University. Dr. Amy, Dr. Gratton, and Rose were FANTASTIC. They were patient, incredibly caring, and amazingly knowledgable. Just as the other reviews, they spent an incredible amount of time with us -and didn't treat us like we were weird for bringing in a tub of baby ducks. They are really amazing folks - and we will return with our other pets (though a considerably longer drive) because of the great care they give.

I starting using university vet YEARS ago when I owned exotic parrots. I no longer own parrots, but recently have acquired guinea pigs as my pets. Without exception, the care and knowledge that have been provided for both my parrots and guinea pigs has been exceptional. Office visits are incredibly reasonably priced. They have the equipment and knowledge to do most any evaluative test or surgery. My primary vet has been Dr. Snyder so I am most familiar with him. His knowledge and "out of the box" thinking to care for my pets is amazing. ANYBODY with an exotic pet, or even a cat or dog should definitely check them out! You won't be disappointed.

We just moved to the Topeka area from Colorado and are so happy to have found Dr. Amy Guernsey to provide care and advice for our special needs kitty. We took our kitty in for the first time today for her blood work and Dr. Guernsey was so patient with us and explained all our options and what the test results meant in such a way it was easy for us to understand. She treated us like we and our kitty were her most important patients and she had all the time in the world. We have been taking our pet rats to this clinic since we moved here a year and a half ago. They get us in quickly and are very knowledgeable. We've seen Drs Snyder, Gratton and Guernsey but most of the time we've seen Dr Guernsey. She will go out of her way to consult with the exotic animal director at K-State when needed. And she always returns our calls right away. We definitely appreciate this little gem in Topeka!

Thank you so much to Dr. Snyder and his wonderful staff for taking care of my rat so many years ago and currently my Rottweiler Trout who was born with hip dysplasia and arthritis. Instead of having to put him down the week after we got him, Dr. Snyder has given us all kinds of information about his condition and how to keep him comfortable. His vet assistants are great as well, being friendly and fully capable of handling him (even if it takes a few of them). Instead of only having two weeks with Trout, he just turned five years old thanks to Dr. Snyder and his team. Couldn't ask for a more competent and friendly doctor.

But today after a short examination and a long repeated discussion they billed me nearly $90 for a half-nail clipping and a weeks worth anti-inflammatory. My dogs examination was about 10 minutes but the rest of today's visit was literally listening to a vet talk. I told the folks there, i'd have to return in a day as i didn't carry that much on me at the time and I wasn't excepting it to be so high but if they could just bill me or something to that extent. without even a moment the clerk asked " so could you call your father ?" Sorry what? (Now forgive and forget was the reason I rated this vet 5 stars because the attention my dog was given but the question was simply disappointing to say the least and something i really wouldn't recommend doing to your average customer- not a good choice) Anyways, after humoring her with a fake call out, the middlish aged woman at the desk requested that i have my father call tomorrow. That really was not something i wanted to hear for the first time let alone the second.
I do plan on going back soon, paying the bill and finishing out my dogs treatment but because of this incident i may not be coming back. The intrusion really disappointment me. Let it be known I'm a guy close to his mid 20's. Definitely not going to waste time listening far to patiently again.

Dr. Snyder has been most compassionate during my time of confusion and need. Hes never even met me, or my pet, and yet he is going above and beyond to help. He takes time out his day to assist me during a very scary time in mine and my pets life. He certainly doesnt have too. Saying Im appreciative isn't enough. I cant thank him enough either. Rusty will be coming here to seek additional therapy and care while hes on this earth with us. I will also make the drive here with some of my other rescues and its a great comfort to know I finally have a place to take our rescued exoctics! Thank you for being apart of Team Rusty!

These veterinarians are great! My husband and I had sick baby ducks. Our local vet did not know what to do. She referred us to University. Dr. Amy, Dr. Gratton, and Rose were FANTASTIC. They were patient, incredibly caring, and amazingly knowledgable. Just as the other reviews, they spent an incredible amount of time with us -and didn't treat us like we were weird for bringing in a tub of baby ducks. They are really amazing folks - and we will return with our other pets (though a considerably longer drive) because of the great care they give.
