Unfortunately I did not have a great experience with this Vet. I had been taking my 4 year old Golden Retriever mix here for a few months with similar issues each visit. The staff were very rude when answering the phone (when they did answer which was not very often even during business hours) or checking you in for your appointment. They did not carry enough flea & tick medication and it was never in stock when I needed to purchase it so I was forced to order it online. But the largest issue for me was when my dog hurt his back leg. I took him in to get him checked out and was informed by Dr. Golatzki that it was nothing major and he just needed to rest it. After weeks of no improvement, I returned for X-rays but was given the same diagnosis and instructions to rest and was given pain pills for him. When his limp kept getting worse, I sought a second opinion from another Vet in the area and was informed that he had in fact torn his CCL (ACL in humans) and would need surgery. At this point, he had been limping for at least 2 months and we had been to Edgewood Animal Clinic multiple times but with no urgency or diagnosis anywhere near the severity of the injury. We took him in for surgery right away but who knows how much more damage he had done in those weeks where we were lead to believe it was a minor injury. Because Dr. Golatzki is the only Vet at this practice it does not seem like she is able to dedicate an adequate time to each patient and did not give my dog a detailed enough examination that he needed but simply passed it off each time as a minor injury. I have been there several times.  The staff is very caring!  They even called to check on my kitten after surgery.  They have a great bedside manner and are happy to answer questions and give advice.  It seems clean and well kept.  Prices are much more reasonable than some other places. Read Less

Just got home from my dog, June's nail appt. 2 women walk into the room. One grabs June's head and neck with both hands, and holds June firmly against her chest. The "doctor" begins to grab June's paws with white knuckles and clip her nails. 3-4 yelps later I notice blood from one of June's nails. Then another nail. Then another. Her blood dripped all over the bench that she was laying on, and the "doctor" used a paper towel and a q-tip to wipe it up from the bench and her nails. She then finished June's nails, and then applied medicine to her nails. They left the room, and I grabbed the bloody towel from the garbage can, and walked out with June, without paying. This was the second of two times we have went to EAC. The first time, June yelped and cried, but no blood. I will not be back, obviously. Would you pay someone to cut your kids hair, if during the haircut and after, your kid was BLEEDING? I know about quicks. I know about dogs. A VET should be perfectly capable of cutting nails without pain or BLEEDING. Then you expect me to PAY for your "service."Read Less

The staff here is AMAZING. They helped us first treat, and later put to eternal sleep, our elderly dog. They are incredibly loving and respectful of the animals and their owners. You can tell that everything they do is for the animals, and that it's not just business. The atmosphere is intimate and clean, it's very easy to get an appointment, and there are no long wait times. A good vet is hard to find. You never really want to have to go to the vet either, mainly because it means a fur baby is in some sort of distress, so it's not exactly a place you look forward or enjoy going to. We've been to a couple animal clinics in the NKY area, but had been disappointed in the office hours/"bedside manner" of some of the other vets around. Fortunately Dr. Golatsky and the wonderful staff at Edgewood Animal Clinic have taken really great care of both us and our pets when we needed them. You can tell Dr. Golatsky really loves animals and what she does, even when someone's cat is growling at her unmercifully (not my cat, of course). The staff is always so sweet and friendly, they have extended hours several days a week, and their prices are usually pretty good. Sometimes the wait to be seen can be long, but that's only because the doctor takes her time with each patient and doesn't hurry, and the only thing keeping me from giving them a full five star rating.They've opened up a new location (further down Dixie Highway, next to the Erlanger Kroger) and it is a massive improvement in terms of space and parking compared to their previous spot. As much as my cat dislikes going to see her, he'll be going to see Dr. Golatsky & Co. from here on out! Read Less

This is the best vet around. The office is small but cozy and the staff is friendly. I really like how there is only 1 Vet and 2 assistants that way you really get to know them. The vet really seems to care. I brought both of my dogs in there for all their needs. Read Less

I called to make an appointment for my two dogs today. I had been taking my dogs to this clinic for a few years now with no issues, aside from the attitude of some of the office staff. The person who answered the phone must have thought that she was the veterinarian. I inquired as to why a heart worm test was needed annually if my dogs were on heart worm medicine all year. She must have taken this question very personal because she became very condescending. And said its our policy and its very necessary then asked how I could be giving them their heart worm medicine because when my dogs were seen last year there was none prescribed by her office. I said (having not checked the medicine) I replied "Well they've been taking it and we will keep getting it from wherever we are getting it from." Then she tried to educate me about how dangerous it was to obtain medicine from third parties and continued to talk down to me as if I am stupid. And I said well I think I know how to care for my dogs and make sure they have what they need. I am a nurse so no worries. She then said in a sarcastic tone, "Oh you're a nurse so you know what your doing, oh ok." As for the medicine I would never do anything illegal I am a nurse. I just wasn't sure where my partner had picked up the meds from because I didn't take them to their last appointment and just simply wasn't sure. But we certainly make sure they get their medicine. I felt like it was a valid question why test for something that they are taking preventative medicine for to begin with. I made an appointment with another veterinarian and called her back to let her know and told her that her lack of professionalism and sarcastic and condescending remarks were simply unacceptable.She then proceeded to tell me that I was sarcastic as well which she is right. I reminded her that I am the customer not the so called professional. I said I am the customer I am allowed to be sarcastic. To which she replied "OHHH your the customer, you're allowed to be sarcastic." And I said yes exactly "You need me, I don't need you." I then requested to speak to her supervisor only to be put on hold for 5 minutes and she came back with "My supervisor is too busy to speak with you, she will have to call you back." I asked for her supervisors name and she said. "Uh The Doctor is my supervisor." I just checked the label and in fact I have the prescription in hand from her office. The fact that her incompetence of not knowing that her office had in fact prescribed and filled the heartworm medicine and accuse me of not giving them that medicine proves to me that my animals do not need to be seen by such unprofessional and disrespectful staff.I told the new Veterinarians office that my dogs would need a refill of their heartworm medicine and a heartworm test. And to my surprise without mentioning it she replied, as long as you are giving them their heartworm meds there is no need to test for heartworms. The Doctor doesn't feel it is necessary. How Ironic. I would recommend this Veterinarian to others, if your animal is in urgent need and they are the last place on earth. Read Less

I was blown away by the wonderful customer service and gentle care of this vet and her whole office! Took two cats in for shots and a check up and they were calm and comfortable--not like they have been at any other vets! She even picked up on things that saved me money that other vets had wanted to do . I found her charges more than reasonable and her care is so good that I am a customer for life! Read Less

Finally a vet that I can go to without feeling  that I have tortured my animals! She was gentle and more thorough than any other vet and the office staff- including the pets- were welcoming and fun. My husband and I could not get over the wonderful experience! Read Less
