We took our dog to middendorf her whole life (14 years). My husband got home from work and we believe she had a stroke. We called them and they said bring her in. On our way the receptionist who was very kind called several times to make sure we were on our way. We were less than a mile away and she called back. The vet told her to call us and tell us that they couldn’t see our dog because they were leaving. The office still had 20 minutes before they closed. Our dog had to continue to suffer until we found an open vet who put her down. The way the vet treated us, our dog, and the poor receptionist is unacceptable! When Sparky came out from getting his nails trimmed (a traumatizing event for him), his tail was wagging and he let the doctor give him some treats. Took my rat Matilda for a visit cause her last vet canceled her surgery to remove a large and growing cyst last minute and couldn’t reschedule for another two weeks. Once I got her to her appointment all the girls working there instantly started playing with her and loving on her. Dr. Middendorf comes in, checks her out and schedules her surgery for two days later. While she was there for her surgery I got updates through the day. When I got there I was informed that the workers were holding her all day long making sure she was ok. (Dr. Middendorf eventually had to tell them to let her rest lol) I don’t think any vet will give you a better peace of mind in regards to your pet. So this morning my pup woke up with a really bad limp. She's limped in the past but I could not get her to do it when I would take her to the vet. This morning I filmed her limp as I knew that by the time she got there it might be gone. I called middendorf animal hospital and they got me in right away. The staff and doctor here are not like any I've experienced at a vet so far. Not to say the others were bad. This was just different. They were kind and treated Lady like she was one of their own. They took a LOT of time going over many questions I had about things not even related to the injury. Turns out her limp is the result of a old injury. I was given some meds to help her out and was on my way. lady liked the staff here so much that when they left the room she whimpered and stared st the door. The doctors are always great with my GSDs. They have been to the office several times. Recently my old man Commissioner Gordon was in the office because he had been limping. He was prescribed some supplements, and then he decided to eat THE WHOLE TUB! I called asked if he would be alright, a day after his visit, and Robin and Dr middendorf/ La Roy were very reassuring and helpful. Words can not express how wonderful the doctors and staff are. The care is top notch and the staff really cares about your 4 legged family members. I recently had to put down our 18 year old cat. The staff provided great comfort to our cat and our family during the heart breaking process. On a lighter note, our dogs love going to the vet and seeing the staff. Years ago we adopted one of our dogs that required immediate medical care once we took ownership of her. The staff was wonderful in pre-arranging the visit and the immediate care she required in a unique situation. She was severely neglected and had a hard road ahead of her. So incredibly happy with my visit! My dog has been seeing another vet in the area and I wasn't very satisfied with them since I felt like they rushed me and didn't care too much about my dog... So I came here. They took their time, listened to my concerns and most importantly to me, cared about my dog whose very skiddish around strangers and also managed to make her feel comfortable! Stanley had a skin tag on his little head and I took him to the Laser Centre and he is doing great he is a 15 yr......since I have had Stanley I think this is a great hospital for my Stanley to go to they are very caring for your pets... I had another dog Krissy at that time I was taking them to Noah's Ark and they missed diagnosed Krissy when I knew she was sick and 3 months later I had her cremated because she had Alzheimer, breast cancer and arthritis so I pulled all records from there and when I moved to Erlanger my friend referred me to Middendorf Animal Hospital and I just think they are the greatest. Just two days after our cat Ash had surgery to remove part of his tail he's a new cat. My family and I are super grateful to the Dr. La Roy and the staff at Middendorf Animal hospital for taking care of our furbaby. What's impressive is that Ash had an appointment to been seen, but they went ahead a performed the surgery the same day. So impressed and happy with Dr Middendorf and the whole staff! Our 12mo old boxer pup was acting very sick for 4-5 days and had a similar episode months before. ER had no answers for us either. Dr Middendorf listened intently to my concerns, reviewed her X-rays, looked at her labs, examined Macey thoroughly, and narrowed it down to possible meningitis. He prescribed the right meds she needed and within 24 hours she was already nearly back to normal. The whole experience was great-- short wait time, friendly and knowledgeable vet techs, welcoming front desk staff. Facility itself is clean and open. They even got me in the same day I called for an exam. Everyone there seems to genuinely care about you and your pet. I will never ever go back to Noah's Ark. I just recently got into the smartphone age and reviews with Yelp. I would give this place 10 stars if possible. We moved to the area in 2005 and looked this place up and never looked elsewhere because there was no reason to. Daisy Mae our little chihuahua was cared for here from age 5 until she passed away in 2011. We still have our Tipper and due to the exceptional care they have provided and ours as well she is now 18 yrs and 7 months old. She is not doing well but at 18+ that is expected. I would and always do recommend Middendorf Animal Hospital. I did so when my neighbors dog got run over and old Cosby is still pretty fast even with only 3 legs. My advice if you need a vet see Middendorf. That is coming from a 30 year Army Vet (Veteran that is). Read Less

Great service. We brought our little shih tzu in last weekend. We thought sonething was really wrong with her by the way she was acting. Dr. Leroy diagnosed her quickly with a minor issue. And did a great job of assuring us of the issue. And didnt use our paranoia as a way to milk us for unneeded services or tests. After receiving treatment from Dr. Leroy our little girl is as good as ever. Thanks a million especially considering we were expecting the worst and a vet with less ethics could have easily taken advantage of us. Recommend these vets to anyone they are the best. Read Less

I have only taken my 15 year old cat here last week for surgery for the first time.  I must say they so far I love this place.  The staff has been nice and helpful and the doctor even called me yesterday to tell me some not so good news.  I'm considering taking my dog here as well.  Look forward to future visits! They're VERY busy on Saturdays and I wasn't greeted  (or acknowledged really) for several minutes when I first arrived. But after that, i found a chair and waited my turn which was about 10 minutes. The vet was very friendly and knowledgable. The best part was when we boarded our dog a few weeks later, though. When we picked him up, he was super calm. He's normally a bit of a nut and acts crazy when we haven't seen him for a few days. My guess is that he got a lot of love and a lot of exercise - we'll definitely keep coming back! Read Less

We are on our third vet in four years since moving to the area and this is the first time we felt like the vet actually listened, gave us usable information and didn't cost a bloody fortune. We've got two more dogs to get in and are actually looking forward to it.  Since I started drafting this, we lost one of our dogs to cancer. It was really hard, but the entire staff was kind and sympathetic and generous with their time. It was a Saturday morning and they got us right in. The doctor and two teches stayed with us the whole time and were so kind to me and my husband. They made a really hard decision a little bit easier to swallow. I've been bringing my dog here since he was a puppy and we could not have found a better vet! We've seen all the doctors in the group and we tend to like Dr. Middendorf and Dr. Leroy the best. The office staff is also wonderful! Our dog has received many services from them from being neutered with the laser surgery, to wellness visits, sick visits, and getting his nails trimmed. Many times, they will offer the trim his nails for free when we come in for a visit. If you need to make a sick appointment, they do a good job at accomodating for your schedule to get your pet in.They send e-mail reminders for wellness visits and have a pet portal on their website where you can pull up your pets medical history on it.I cannot say enough on how much I love our vet and I think my dog likes it better than we do! :) Read Less
