Kingsley, Kentucky
General Info
Seneca Animal Hospital in Kingsley delivers a veterinary philosophy to Kentucky pet owners that encompasses every developmental stage while maintaining flexibility for adjustments. These patterns establish a framework for care pacing that avoids premature decision-making. Seneca Animal Hospital delivers preventive care diagnostic panels weight tracking surgical consults senior wellness services and chronic condition coaching. Plans undergo customization based on the family's living situation whether they reside in a city apartment with new noise exposure or manage a household containing multiple pets at various life stages. The implementation of transition strategies enables pet owners to maintain confidence while their animal's care requirements evolve from preventive measures to monitoring or from temporary solutions to long-term equilibrium. Each stage unfolds in straightforward language while progress tracks through essential factors like behavioral consistency, home care simplicity, and preparedness for subsequent appointments. Instead of burdening families with numerous tasks the team implements a spaced approach that incorporates built-in flexibility alongside optional check-ins. They've always been great with rescues I've brought to them. Very thorough and reasonably priced. I would have moved all my permanent critters if they offered after hours service for existing customers. I don't like taking my babies to a complete stranger in an emergency and especially one that charges 4-5x as much to help them just because it's after hours. Three are a handful of existing vets that have an on call rotation for emergency situations and only charge $100 for the after hours fee and then everything from there is standard pricing. Wish these guys offered that but they don't. Read Less

Terrible experience. I have always found the staff to be lukewarm at best. I don't feel welcomed or remembered. Seems like everyone is just going through the motions. When my puppy had surgery last week they suggested she spend the night. I never imagined that my puppy would be alone for 12 hours in the clinic all by herself. Nobody bothered to mention this, until I checked on her 1 hour before closing that day. When I went to pick her up (I could keep her quiet and check on her stitches, thank you) and politely suggested that they may want to let people know that there would be nobody staying with my dog, the rude reply was "our hours are on the door." When they said "we needed to be sure your dog was quiet and was not licking her stitches" I asked how they would know if she was licking her stitches if nobody was there to watch or care for her. I will never take my dog back to this uncaring and rude place again. Read Less

My wife and I have been using this veterinary clinic for a number of years.  It is in a very convenient location for people living in the Highlands or Hikes Point  and the staff is very friendly and helpful.  However, even if it wasn't so convenient we would keep going to this clinic.  When you enter the doors you can tell that the people who work there, both the vets and staff really care for animals.  They keep track of all the animals who use their services and are very affectionate and genuine in their interactions with the pets who come there.  Before coming to Seneca Animal Hospital I was very surprised to learn that there are clinics where the atmosphere is far more formal and businesslike, which is not what I want for this kind of a service.  The veterinary doctors are absolutely fantastic.  Every time we have come they have a great rapport with our animals, who are normally very wary of anyone they don't know.  They also do a thorough job and provide extremely useful advice, and give you the risks and benefits of any necessary medical course of action without being pushy or judgmental.  I can also personally attest to how well they perform, at least a minor, operation after we had to have a tooth extraction for one of our older cats.  She's super sweet, but suffers from hyperthyroidism and an enlarged heart.  We were worried about how well she would do under anesthesia and in the surgery, but the Vet Tech went through the procedure and answered all of our questions (as an aside they keep  a close eye on any animal they put under anesthesia and keep them at the hospital for at least 3 or 4 hours after the surgery to ensure that there are no complications which is a best practice).  The surgery was a complete success, but our cat had a few minor side affects from the procedure (I'm happy to report within 72 hours she was better than when she went in), after I called to make absolutely sure that it wasn't something I should be worried about, the veterinary doctor who conducted the surgery called me right back and explained what we should expect and when it might be an issue requiring a return trip. This kind of quick response was greatly appreciated and put my mind at ease.  Seneca Animal Hospital is one of the best veterinary clinics that I've ever used.  They are fantastic with our cats and have provided excellent care with a great deal of empathy and compassion.  I would unreservedly recommend them for anyone looking for veterinary clinic for their pet. I've taken all 3 of my dogs to SAH and I've never been disappointed.  Almost everyone there seems to really like being there, and they always take great care of us.  When my oldest dog died, the day after I'd taken him in to be checked out (he died at the Jefferson Animal Hospital on a Sunday night - either liver or heart failure, not sure which since JAH stopped running their tests when he passed), I called to let SAH know - I was devastated and knew I couldn't handle getting a "reminder" card when he would have been due for shots.  Dr. Rhiney called me that Monday evening to express his shock and sympathy.  They also sent a card with some Forget-Me-Not seeds.  Their office isn't exactly convenient to my home (I pass 3 other vets to get there) but I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else, unless I had no choice (emergency, etc.)  Dr. Greene is definitely my favorite and I know that I can always count on them to be honest, caring and as conservative as they can be (given any situation) when recommending/suggesting treatments. BAD EXPERIENCE. Male, 9-yr-old healthy cat with urinary tract infection symptoms. Seen by Dr. Berlin (only works Wednesdays). Even tho my cat is obviously very healthy and I told the doctor he had a urinary tract infection with successful use of antibiotics over 3 yrs ago, she insisted on a series of expensive tests, $256.00. She refused my request to provide antibiotics and send him home to carefully watch for a day or two, increase treatment if necessary. Dr. Berlin did not detect an infection in the tests, she said she could only be sure if she sent a culture to a lab, for additional fee, of course. She saw a live flea in his fur, treated him for fleas and nothing else, charged me $256.00. I took my cat to the Shively Animal Clinic, they suspected a urinary tract infection, treated with antibiotics, both shot and pills, vitamin B, and prednisone, and he improved quickly, for $69.00. I contacted the owners of Seneca clinic, Drs. Green & Riney, and Dr. Berlin, explained the bad experience in detail, NO RESPONSE.
