I hate to say it but I wish I went with my gut feeling and never got a membership here!!! First and foremost just said to myself stop being stubborn so I got a membership because my cat was scratching her ears a lot ..so I took her in to get checked and they said it was nothing and gave me medicine drops for her ears . Than told me she was overweight and the best way to lose the weight was to go on there prescription food and gave me two options. They also did blood work. So figured they are the experts so they know what they are doing....so I thought.....Now not only I had to pay for the yearly membership now I had to pay for the blood work done , the medicine and the new prescription food. So things went well her ears were fine and she stop scratching her ears. Thrown out my old food and in with the new, months went by and my cat was throwing up all the time. So I went back and told them and than they had me try the other prescription cat food . Yeah this should work they know what there doing they are experts....right? Apparently I was wrong....Things didnt get better they just got worse, in fact so bad my cat never had these symptoms in her whole life as long as I had her which was 6years. She was scratching more than ever before bleeding and scabbing around her ears, eyebrows, face, losing hair and still throwing up. So I was like I have the membership so I should just take her in and see what is wrong. That is exactly what I did and she only lost less than a pound and they tell me they have no idea why she was bleeding/scabbing and that I should just go back to what I was feeding her originally before she started scratching her ears. Than told me to make her feel better they had to give her a few shots...what the heak am I going to do now they are the experts. So now have to pay for both those shots and now have to buy all new food again and throw away all the other prescription food when they also told me the throwing up could be caused just from eating new food and that the blood work they did on my cat wasnt a deep bloodwork check so they don't know what my cat would be able to eat exactly to see if it is an allergic reaction and would actually cost even more money to get the blood work deeply checked out. I hope you are following what i'm saying because they do not care about your pet they just care about collecting that money. Whether your pet is in pain or not that's a true fact and is exactly why I regret not going with my gut feeling.SO CHECK THIS OUT......sure enough went back to what I was originally feeding her and the scabs, bleeding, ear scratching, and throwing up went away and is slowly getting her hair back from the scabbing. So clearly I knew what to do cancel my membership well I called to cancel than they gave me a number to call to do so. Than explained why I wanted to cancel after they asked why than they apologized and said well you still have a remaining balance so you have to pay to cancel the membership "basically what they said in my terms". ARE YOU SERIOUS THIS HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST SCAM EVER I PAID ALL THIS MONEY FOR YOU EXPERTS TO FIGURE OUT A PROBLEM THAT THEY CAUSED ONLY FOR ME TO PAY MORE MONEY TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD OF NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE BUT ONLY BECAME AN ISSUE BECAUSE THEY CAUSED THE ISSUE....wwwwoooooooooooowwwww so for whoever read this far if you are a human with no common sense and would love to pay hundreds or maybe even thousands of dollars to make your pet sick and than pay even more hundreds of thousands of dollars to hope that your pet will get better to the same people you paid to get your pet sick. THAN THIS IS A PERFECT PLACE TO TAKE YOUR PETS!!!!!!! Read Less

Went in with the coupon for Free Vet Physical Exam. Just basically wanted the prescription for the monthly heartgard medicine for our new puppy who had already started Heartgard with the adoption group we adopted our puppy from.  Was NOT given a prescription, but one pill (charged $10.95 for one pill!) That's an elevated expense, since the box of Heartguard cost $34.95. Then said that they send the Heartgard to us since they need to put all their money inventory into other prescriptions that pets will need at Banfield. What's THAT about? Ok, so it's been a week now, and the Heartgard has not come yet.  Banfield tested our puppy for Giardia when our regular vet said that he's never in all his career seen but one case of this.  Banfield told me it was very prevalent right now here.  I tend to agree with my local vet for my other dog.  Banfield said the puppy tested positive.  So there's another prescription.  I had to call our vet to see if our other dog needed treatment also.  He didn't see the point. Banfield had said that since the puppy was adopted and from a puppy mill, that makes Giardia more prevalent.  Well the puppy WASNT in a puppy mill.  It's mother was.  The puppy was born at a foster home and was treated by a vet for all first shots, neutering, etc.  Why wouldn't THAT vet have tested (since it's so prevalent?)  or treated for Giardia?  For a Free Visit Coupon, I left paying $202.08!!!!!Seems a bit deceptive to me - get them "In" there, and do all these tests... PLUS, just looked at the detailed bill and I was charged $10 JUST TO PUT OUR INFORMATION IN THE COMPUTER! No vets do this!  That's ridiculous.  I'm sticking with our long-time vet. Thanks. Read Less

I love Banfield! :) I had to take my little kitten Bella in last week because she was very sick, we had rescued her from someone who had over 30 cats and did not take care of any of them, the women did not want to spay or nuetore the cats she had that were making more and more babies so they were all sickly and roaming wild on the streets. It turns out she had ear mites, a HUGE cut on her side from possibly another cat, roundworms, and a bad infestation of fleas. She was so under weight that you could feel every bone in her body as well as almost being anemic. We had rushed her to the 24 hour emergency vet and they wanted to charge us over 400$ for everything. So we made the cut on her side priority and only had that treated at the time. All in all they still charged us 200$ for the exam and medicine for her cut alone. So we left a little empty handed, but then a few days later we found Banfield and let me just say, I am very pleased with the service, not only did they put our kitten first, and notice the ear mites that the previous vet had not, but they also gave us a affordable price to pay and set us up for a monthly plan.
