Boston Road Animal Clinic

Lexington, Kentucky
General Info
Boston Road Animal Clinic is a Lexington-based veterinary practice devoted to the well-being and health of pets throughout the community. The clinic is located in Lexington, United States. It is reputable due to its professional and reliable approach to animal health matters. The experienced team provides personalized wellness plans, routine check-ups, and various treatments to ensure each pet receives the best care. Services frequently encompass surgery, vaccinations, pet euthanasia, dental care, ultrasound, laboratory testing, and prescription medications. These treatment regimens are conducted with a sharp focus on the details and quality of care offered to the animal. The clinic is equipped to make a pet feel comfortable, which means it is easier for a doctor to make a diagnosis. Clients often praise the staff for being caring and attentive, which builds trust and ensures pets receive consistent care. Boston Road Animal Clinic continues to grow as a cornerstone of the Lexington pet-owning community. Whether it is helping young pets start life on the right foot or supporting older pets with chronic conditions, the clinic’s professionals are always ready to help. The passion for animal welfare is evident as they continuously seek to educate themselves and keep abreast of the latest developments in veterinary medicine. This ensures that each pet gets the best care possible. The practice advocates for responsible pet ownership and community involvement, making it a valuable resource for pet families. Caregivers all over Lexington and Kentucky trust Boston Road Animal Clinic for how it focuses on veterinary sessions being the emotional exchange, where matched pace, contrast cues, and flexible structure of interaction lead. Each time I visit a client’s home, I note how the pet enters the room and its speed of orientation. Also, I record whether its gaze is steady or not. Care arises through the gradual reflection of behaviors. When the cat curls up, the servants back away. When a dog starts to lean, it moves gently. Physical touch takes place only after an intentional pause has been maintained until all readiness signs have shown stability. Planned silence uses a lack of interaction. Stillness always follows motion, dimness gives way to light, and the close arrangement is followed by space. Boston Road Animal Clinic delivers disease screening and pain reduction services, joint care, and dermatology consultations. When alertness reaches a certain level, the diagnostic activities stop. When serenity surges they remain. This logic enabled the historically anxious animal to complete its exam without spiraling. Discharge instructions are then individually tailored to identify key signals (e.g., when she feels the need to pull away, which behaviors and activities bring her back in control) and utilize rhythmic behaviors to reinforce the desired patterns (meals, walks). Families receive guidance on helping the child emotionally adjust at home. These subtle changes, like different bed sheets and furniture placement, turn the experience from a mere “hospital echo” into an actual “coming home.” Boston Road Animal Clinic extends its veterinary services to Kentucky homes from Lexington by listening before speaking, reflecting before handling, and responding before prescribing.

AVOID! I was a frantic pet owner this morning when I found blood soaked into my dog's fur after I took her outside to potty. My vet clinic was not open so I decided to use my old vet and my mothers current vet. I called them and explained that she had blood coming from her rear and was relieved that they could see my dog right away. I gave her a bath, dried her off and then headed to see them. Upon arrival I explained my situation again and even showed a picture of her bloody discharge to the receptionist/vet tech there. When the doctor came in he promptly lifted her tail, inspected her backside and declared she was in heat. I was so relieved but asked if he was sure. He assured me she was fine. I found it strange that he did nothing more than lift her tail and inspect her for a minute or two, but figured he knew more than me so I paid the fee (over $30 for two minutes of his time) and left. When I came home at lunch, my dog was once more covered in her own blood, fecal matter and was now puking excessively (I think I counted 10-12 times). I called my usual vet, who was now open, and begged for their help which they gladly gave. They took their time and took a fecal test, felt on her belly, looked in her ears, nose and eyes and confirmed that the blood was not caused by her being in heat but by colitis. She was very dehydrated at this point as well and was given fluids since she weighs less than four pounds and her situation could turn fatal if she was not hydrated and her blood sugar dropped. I called the vet who misdiagnosed my dog and asked that they refund the charge for the 'brief exam' that was absolutely worthless and they said no. Their reasoning, and I quote, is that the doctor had taken his time to see her and had given his best guess. I'm a college student and I don't have extra money to be wasting on guesses- especially if they are incorrect. My mother and I will never set foot in this clinic again. Read Less

TL:DR - Cat Piss, Killed Dog, Staff Rude at Times; This place sucks. Strong odor of cat piss whenever you walk in. We have encountered rude staff, Ashley was the only consistently friendly staff memeber. Our dog was 17 years old but still alive and well. He was having trouble with his foot. The doctor said he had to "sedate" him for x-ray. Which can't be safe for a 17yr dog. Doc said his spine was degenerating. After sedation it looked like he was paralyzed and they said we needed to put him down. My wife got there within 15 minutes of call. As we search the building to find her dog of childhood she had enough time to bend and touch his face before Dr.s Wife said "Alright, lets do this, hurry up, come on we got to go". Which was rude and heartless. We saw our dog wanting to live, so we assumed after "sedation" worn off he would be as perky as before he went in. Charged for painkillers and we left. He started moving all four feet but his neck was locked. He couldn't move. If his spine was degenerating, why would his foot work and his neck not ? Then we got a bill said with "euthanasia" charged on it. They had started the process, then sent us a dying dog, with usless pain killers, claiming he was "sedated" for xray. We watched in horror as he suffered through the weekend. He even stood up, but his neck muscles were locked! He finally gave in and we put him down. Would give zero stars. Read Less

We needed a quality vet that would care for our two cats at affordable prices - including letting us know beforehand how much care would cost so we could plan, because we do not have a lot of money. This place never balked at letting us know the full cost of tx before anything was actually done, and they never made us feel like bad pet owners simply because we could not afford more expensive options. If needed, they would see our cats first and describe their treatment approach and then let us bring the cats back for treatment. That is rare in any business, and even more rare in a medical/veterinary setting; but we thank Boston Road Animal Clinic for their compassionate care of both our kitties and us! Unfortunately, we had to move out of state, and we're trying to find something like that here! We miss this place! Read Less
