This is definitely the best vet clinic in the Bluegrass. Not only is everyone excellent at what they do, but these are the most wonderful people. When my Aussie (Champ) had an eye problem, Dr. Melanie Blair called me a day or two later to check up on how he was doing. When we had the recent snow storm, I texted to see if my appointment was still on. Dr. Craig Blair texted back, "Yes, we're open. But if you cannot make your appt b/c of the weather, we understand." Businesses are reflected by the people at the top, and everyone who works in that clinic is terrific. On a 1 to 10, they're an 11. Read Less

I can't say enough kind words about this practice. They have treated every animal I've had in the last 20 years! Helped with rehabbing when I was involved with that, treated all my classroom pets for free including removing tumors off my rat twice! My dogs are alive because of their care. The staff is always kind and thoughtful. I can't imagine a harder thing than having to euthanize a sick pet but they are so kind and thoughtful with that process. My dog was recently lost and when the gracious man took him to Clays Mill (on his tags) the workers recognized him by name and called my husband. I have Dr Blair's cell phone and he has come through for me in the best and the worst of times. This is a gift to all animals. I wish I could find regular doctors that cared about me the way that staff cares about my animals! Read Less

I was so relieved when I saw Dr. Blair carry her out to me when I came to pick her up. She is just fine now and is happier and has more energy than she has ever had after this procedure. I was referred to Clays Mill Veterinary as they treat a variety of animals (incl. small animals) as well as dogs and cats. In this case, my pet rabbit, needed an exam as she was not feeling well and was sluggish. Fortunately, it was quickly determined that it was her digestive tract had some blockage. This can be fatal to rabbits as they can die about 24 hours after symptoms appear. Thankfully, she was properly treated and she's just fine now. The diagnosis was on the mark, and the costs are reasonable. The rabbit will be 9 years old soon, and she's doing great! The clinic sends reminders for periodic checkups (every 1 year or so), and the cost is decent for those as well. Read Less

I do not feel it is 'controversial' I feel it is totally and unconditionally insane and cruel. Whatever your reasons for stopping this practice, you are being applauded by more people in more states (and countries that have outlawed declawing) than you will ever know. Kudos, to all behind this decision. (Yeah, I keep up with The Paws Project, they let us know!) You are all hero's. Read Less

Thank you for deciding to stop declawing! You're one of the few vet's I've seen who have actually had the sense to do your own research and realized that the painful and unnecessary procedure in fact does not keep cats in homes. I hope all veterinarians follow your example and start putting their patients welfare above furniture <3 Read Less

We started taking our dog, Maggie I, to Dr. Blair over two years ago. Throughout the rest of her life, they were wonderful with her and treated her like a member of the family. We now have a new rescued dog, Maggie II. I took her to Dr. Blair for an evaluation. Both Dr. Blair and the staff were wonderful with her. It is so nice to have veterinarians and their staff members who genuinely care about their patients. God bless them all! Read Less

I've been bringing my pets here for years. Bird, cats, dog, they have treated my whole gang. I am always able to get an appointment on short notice. The best part I love is that Dr. Craig Blair and Dr. Fraebel treat my pets like their own. Complete compassion. I never feel like I'm just another client just trying to get in and out. They handle all the pets gently and the staff is equally caring. I know when I come here they are in good hands. The prices are fair for anywhere else I've seen in town if not less. They do discuss prices before charging you anything, if it is something you are concerned about. I've used their boarding services as well and that went smooth too. Read Less

Read Less

Awesome office and wonderful people! Just got a puppy from the Humane Society last month and they have been wonderful with her so far. Very personable people and everyone has a real passion for animals. I love that the Dr's give you their personal number in case of any concerns after work hours. It makes me feel a lot less stressed for any future problems I have. I'm so happy we chose to bring Frankie to them! Read Less
