These treatments are attentively provided in order to prevent and mitigate any potential health issues. The facility is well-equipped, and the animals feel comfortable there, which means that no unnecessary stress will hinder them during visits. They also emphasize the friendly and professional staff that takes excellent care of their pets, ensuring they always come back for more services. Lexington Hospital For Cats continues to grow as one of the cornerstones of the Lexington pet ownership community. The clinic’s professionals are eager to help, whether it concerns young pets starting life with health issues or older pets struggling with chronic illnesses. Their love for animals reflects in the continuous pursuit of knowledge and education to always stay up-to-date with the latest techniques, methods, and discoveries. This ensures that every pet gets the best care possible. It also actively promotes responsible pet ownership and community engagement, making the practice not just a clinic but a resource for pet families. Lexington Hospital For Cats in Lexington offers services that resonate with the emotional vibrations of animals and their Kentucky owners. The setup of the room invites unmoving tranquility. The positioning of the chairs strives to lessen the pressure by eliminating bodily forces. Exam tables adjust for access and visibility. Before calling the pet, the staff watches how the caregiver breathes, speaks, and stares at it because animals frequently examine their owners for cues. The purposeful use of silence occurs on the external level. Certain situations, encompassing dogs and cats with sluggish rhythms in need of immediate care, call for initial patient waiting. Lexington Hospital For Cats employs an integrative approach to feline health by combining various organ systems, pain levels, allergies, hydration status and energy diagnostics whenever necessary. The timing of the visits is also determined by the fact that animals in the morning already receive many stimuli and animals from later visits need to be observed quietly first. Lowering the pitch of voice helps dogs to pay better attention while narrowing frequency band reduces startle responses in cats. Owners receive guidance in the form of tonal instructions on what to do after visits, such as speaking gently, ignoring the pet, putting it in a sunny spot and letting it rest in a shadowy enclosure. These patterns allow both body and mind to return to their equilibrium. Lexington Hospital For Cats entwines the nervous systems of pets and owners to provide healthcare that is clinically sound and emotionally in tune with cat-loving families in Lexington and greater Kentucky.

Lexington Hospital for Cats is the most thorough and caring practice I have found since I moved to Lexington, Ky. I have a senior boy who has a bipolar personality which made it impossible for a Vet to even examine him, much less perform any procedures. With mild medication, it makes his visits a lot better. He had a serious Ear infection which had been treated previously with drops. Nothing seemed to cure it. Dr.Mills had the micro equipment to diagnose and treat the inner ear. He has been trouble free for many months and he is a much happier cat. Because of a bladder problem that he had, I board him when we go on vacations. The girls send me updates and photos which give me peace of mind. I wouldn’t consider taking him anywhere else. Read Less

I've moved a lot over the years and have taken my pets to different veterinarians. Dr. Mills has been the absolute best! Other reviews mention waiting a long time. If that were the case it may be because she cares so much. I had a senior cat with many issues that Dr. Mills took the time to make sure I fully understood the situation and the treatment necessary each visit we had. She is very straightforward and knowledgeable in her practice. Dr. Mills is extremely thorough and does everything in front of you (I've had other doctors take my cat in a back room and could not see what they were doing). I feel she has given my cat a longer life and am so thankful for her. I wish I didn't have to move away. She is the best vetrinarian I have met for cats over the last 20 years. Read Less

Super-knowledgeable vet. I switched after a previous vet claimed there's no such thing as heartworm meds for cats. Also at that time, my cat had been lethargic. I thought she was "getting old". Turns out she had an infection and needed a special diet. After a few months of care from Lexington Hospital for Cats, our adult kitty was springing around the house again, chasing her tail. Kitty had been ill for six months and it would have continued had I not taken her to this vet.Visits here do cost more than other vets. It might help if vets had some sort of monthly payment system so when check-up time comes around, it's not such a difficult expense. But I *think* the higher cost at LHC is because they test things that some other vets don't, and through these tests, I've been able to take better care of my pet. Pets, especially cats with their "cattitudes", don't tell us much when they're sick. If your cat hasn't been their usual self, and your vet hasn't been able to figure it out, I suggest you try Lexington Hospital for Cats. Read Less

Wonderful people working there that care about my cats health. However appointments seem to take an unusually long time. I came because my cat had an injury that needed to be looked at. When I called to make my appointment, we were told it would be $35 for the initial visit because of a special deal they had for new patients. The visit alone ended up being $75, so we were lied to about the price which really upset me, especially because I would have never come here if they had told me the real price, and they did nothing to fix it. The bill ended up being $275, which was extremely overpriced for the services provided. I only changed my review because after thinking about it for a few days, the doctor was nice and affectionate towards my cat, but my own vet is really nice and they charge just $20 for the visit. The only reason I came here was because an x-ray was needed. I wish they wouldn't have lied about the price, or they could have actually tried to fix it. Search elsewhere because other places won't charge you this insane amount for the small amount of work done and a tiny bottle of antibiotics. The only good thing I have to say about this place is they were nice, and that is the only reason I have changed my review, although I want others to be warned before choosing to come here! Read Less

I came because my cat had an injury that needed to be looked at. When I called to make my appointment, the woman on the phone, Rebecca, told us it would be $35 for the initial visit because of a special deal they had for new patients. We are college students and living on a tight budget, so not being overcharged at the vet office is a big deal for us.Of course we were pushed to do x-rays and fluid tests, with little chance to even discuss it. Needless to say, we left with a $275 vet bill with a small bottle of pills and an upset cat. The visit alone was $75! I was livid when they claimed they had no idea what I was talking about when it came to the price. If they had initially told me $75 I would have looked into going to another vet office, but of course they lie to get you in the door like it seems every vet offices does now. You can never trust any vets because they know you are just money bags who care about their pets. They did not attempt to fix the problem, and they already had my money, so I'm the one who is SOL. I will be finding a new vet to make a follow up appointment with and I will be looking for a place that doesn't try to push you into decisions you aren't comfortable making at that moment and that doesn't lie.
