I take both of my elderly cats to Locust Trace. One of my cats has kidney disease and has to have blood work done regularly. She gets very stressed out when she goes to the vet. The first time we visited Locust Trace to have Daisy's blood work done, I was amazed out how calm she was when they brought her back to me after the blood work. This was a first. I knew then this was the place I could trust to take my precious fur babies. They obviously care very much for animals. I would highly recommend you take your pet here. from the moment i came here for a second opinion i knew i was in the right place. i have experience and training in the industry, and know what to look for in a veterinarian and the support staff/techs/nurses. i cannot say enough wonderful things about the team and the facility, on top of which the cost of care is incredibly reasonable, given the proliferation of "boutique-ish" clinics that charge fees on par with or exceeding the cost of human medical care, without the cushion of medical insurance to help, (and no, pet insurance is full of loopholes and exceptions that mean very few people actually benefit financially from the policy. been there, done that). another attraction for me is the high school vocational program that the clinic supports, a wonderful way to grow our future veterinary professionals. This place is amazing!! The staff always treat me and my furbabies like we are family!! Katie is the sweetest, friendliest, most helpful and knowledgeable receptionist ever. Not to mention Dr. Godwin, who went out of his way to help me get the treatment my Yorkie needed, when I would never have been able to afford it elsewhere! Dr. Godwin is very knowledgeable and always explains things in a way anyone can understand. He has never pushed me to have expensive tests and treatments if he thought we could try something less expensive without compromising my dogs health. I always trust Dr. Godwin to make the right decision for my furry friends because I know he will always try the least invasive things first! Treatment here is always top notch and quite a bit more affordable than other vets in Lexington!! I would never take my dogs anywhere else! Read Less

We take all of our dogs to Locust Trace, but our eldest, Peanut has been experiencing some pretty serious medical concerns. Peanut was passed on to me by my father, who passed away 3 years ago. She's been my loyal companion for nearly 14 years now and I wouldn't trust her with just anyone. Dr. Godman has been patient, considerate, and thorough when it came to dealing with a mass that eventually abscessed on Peanut's chest.
