I moved to town in the Summer of 2016 and was sad to have to find a new vet. But I LOVE Dr. Rankin and the staff at North Lexington Vet. Dr. Jarboe and Dr. Rankin have taken excellent care of our babies. Easy to get there and to get an appointment. I discuss with them my concerns and have them talk me through options when problems come up. They always take time to listen and chat with me when I have questions. Our "problem child" was first treated in another state so north lex made sure to get his records and they tailor his treatment etc based on his history. no i dont think it is for free but you should not say things like that from another room and i can pay for the office visit (like i did) but not the medicine that was needed but still take a attitude with me cause i cant afford the medicine at this time just makes you a pathetic people. Read Less

I recently moved to Kentucky and my poor dog recently fell victim to Kentucky's harsh allergies. As a result he got a severe ear infection that turned into a hematoma. After searching all over lexington for the perfect vet I stumbled upon north lexington vet .     They were up to date with their knowledge and practices. Several other vets in the area insisted my dog needed surgery, Dr.Rankin  Gave him some ear drops and meds to take home and one week later my pup is all healed. They saved me hundreds of dollars, and most importantly they saved my dog from having to suffer through surgery. They were so kind and sweet in the office, and really understanding and gentle with my overly anxious dog. 10/10 would go back there again and refer anyone to go here! Read Less

The fact that both my dogs have wagging tails when they walk into the office says it all! Great office staff, techs, and vets who make sure my dogs are comfortable and happy. I have been bringing my dogs and cats to NLVC for more years than I can remember. They are exceptional vets and really take the time to know your animal and you. I have had experience with other vets for my exotic pets and none are as good and thorough as Dr. Jarboe and Dr. Rankin. I highly recommend them to everyone!! Read Less

I have been bringing my dog to NLVC since I brought him home about a year and a half ago. He has fairly frequent health issues so we have gotten to know the staff and vets very well. :) They are professional, patient, courteous, and caring. Dr Jarboe is particularly great and has followed up with me by phone and email before as she worked tenaciously to help my dog get the care he needed. When my Yorkie, Haylee, was sick with Pneumonia, Dr. Jennifer Rankin was wonderful! She not only provided her excellent care, but I could tell that it really mattered to her. She even called to follow up and see how Haylee was doing and had the wisdom to refer us out to a specialist when she saw the need. Haylee is now 16, and I have no doubt that she would no longer be with me if I had not had the assistance of Dr. Rankin. Several years back, she assisted me when it was time to euthanize my 18 year old cat. Every pet owner knows what a terrible time that is. My cats started going to North Lexington Veterinary Clinic in the mid 1990s. I choose the clinic because it was close to my apartment and the clinic had a female veterinarian on staff. When using professional services (doctors, lawyers etc.) Ive always tried to go to a female business. I am more comfortable around women. I am so glad I selected North Lexington Veterinary Clinic. I sincerely believe Dr. Jarboe is the best veterinarian in this area. Twice she brought my Kitty Carlisle back from close to death. I moved to Frankfort 10 years ago and even though Ive gone the last 2+ years without a car and I need to arrange a ride or rent a car to get to the clinic Dr. Jarboe is my vet. We love both Dr. Rankin and Dr. Jarboe. They've taken care of the needs of our cats and dogs. We were especially grateful for their compassionate care when we learned our German Shepherd had leukemia and would have to be put down. They were so sweet to our family during a tough time. Our 2 year old lab was completely misdiagnosed for a fee of nine hundred dollars. We were then sent to the emergency clinic for anadditional eight hundred dollars. The receptionist is also very rude. We called Chevy Chase Animal Clinic on a Saturday morning, no appt., new patient, and not only did they fit us in, but he was operated on that afternoon.
