Might do better vet care if your a major thoroughbred farm. But Bonnie Barr killed my yearling thoroughbred colt, brought in w suspected pneumonia..but was told he was shedding salmonella..put him in isolation barn full of horses with strangles. After F
four days there, I asked for a new vet to administer his care, as she was doing nothing to help him. Within hours of that request she ordered his fluids " to be opened up"..which killed the salmonella and left him in toxic shock and he died alone. Every vet i spoke to, even those affiliated with Rood and Riddle stated he wasnt treated properly. I would never use this equine hospital again. Highly recommend hagyard if your not a multi million dollar client and u want ur horse to be treated and to survive

I just picked up my pony from Rood and Riddle, not only has our stay with them been incredible the doctors, tech and staff have been wonderfully helpful. Dr. Jordan has always been very professional and kind to us. And when Flex came down with a strange sickness Dr. Morresey was very very eager to get to the root of the problem and send me home with a happy, comfortable horse. I will use both of these vets again in the future.

We have had great success with Dr.Hopper and Dr.Ruggles. The podiatry unit I would never use again!! We received horrible customer service as well as bad workmanship on not just 1 horse but several. We had been using them for over 6 months on a regular schedule and when we needed a problem fixed that they created, we were chastised and they literally told us as customers that we were fired! No explanation, we have yet to receive our records that we requested as well! Horrible experience with the podiatry unit.

Our mare has been under the care of Rood and Riddle for almost one year. Dr. Ruggles and his staff, as well as Dr. Bras and his staff have been great and much appreciated. We have been treated with the utmost respect and honesty. The best news of all is our mare is sound and competing. We trust her ongoing farrier care to Dr. Bras in a joint effort with our local farrier. Five stars across the board.

We have used Rood and Riddle 3 times, (twice in the past with our Friesian mare for breeding) and every time has been a good experience, but I am eternally grateful this time for Dr Steve Reed's incredible kindness this week as Cosmo was diagnosed with terminal cancer and euthanized. I also want to thank the staff who took the time yesterday, knowing Cosmo was to be euthanized, to take him out to graze on a sunny, warm winter day so he could get some enjoyment from his last day.

If you ever have an opportunity to tour this facility, do it. It's a fascinating look into equine care and surgery, and you might have the good fortune to see an actual surgical procedure up close. There is even a huge "equine walker" of sorts designed by NASA that assisted in the mobility of a well known thoroughbred.Note that their new and expanded pharmacy on the R&R campus is open to the public and carries products for felines and canines as well.

Our Missouri Foxtrotter had abdominal surgery here, her doctors and staff were absolutely top notch. We chose this hospital even though it was a long drive and so glad we did, Maggie was in the very best possible hands. Our horse is a "backyard" horse that means the world to us, Rood and Riddle truly treated her like a queen and saved her life thru exploratory surgery. We have just passed her 1 year surgery anniversary and she is doing great. I'm so glad a friend pointed me to this hospital, I am positive it made all the difference. In the future, when there is critical issue and we can make it here... this is where we will head!
