All Pets Veterinary Center

Louisville, Kentucky
General Info
Each visit to All Pets Veterinary Center in Louisville initiates a silent communication where subtle behaviors shared glances and movement patterns weave a narrative understood by families throughout Kentucky. Examinations initiate through focused attention instead of physical touch. The staff examines subtle animal actions such as eye contact initiation breathing patterns upon hearing voices and motion-based drifting tendencies. Care then unfolds in parts. The examination of a pet's skin, coat, and joints depends on the ways it anchors its body or shifts weight to lean or stiffen. The emergence of trust signals triggers subsequent examinations of dental structures alongside abdominal regions and cardiac rhythms. Owners deliver contextual information about alterations in their daily patterns alongside new sounds to which their pets respond and shifts in walking or feeding routines. All Pets Veterinary Center delivers services spanning early-life exams and diagnostics through to energy balance strategies oral health planning age-related joint tracking and illness-specific mapping. Timeframes vary based on behavior. Numerous appointments progress rapidly when distinct consent indicators emerge. Certain developmental stages unfold gradually across multiple phases which allows the animal to comprehend each individual step. Pets have access to quiet areas and pause zones for necessary recalibration before they proceed. The emphasis of post-visit care revolves around transforming household environments. Observe sleep patterns while determining when to reinstate routines and watch for subtle signals such as family withdrawal, appetite loss, or spatial guarding. It is recommended that owners monitor timing instead of focusing solely on symptoms. At what time does restlessness appear? During which daily period do hesitation frequencies reach their maximum? All Pets Veterinary Center provides guidance to families in Louisville and nearby Kentucky regions by recognizing behavior as a living signal which pets communicate through every pause nudge and shift in daily life instead of during crises.

Our last fostered/adopted rescue was a difficult case. We made the decision to keep All Pets as the dog’s vet, despite having four other animals that go to another veterinary practice. Dr. Jewell & Dr. Ladegast, and their vet techs, are wonderful. They’ve dealt with our Rudy many times, sometimes squeezing us in last minute and staying late to treat him. He hasn’t always been the most well-behaved patient, but they never give less than 100%. We have a friend that takes her guinea pigs to them now based on our recommendation, and she’s had better care and information for her exotics than at other vets who don’t normally treat animals other than dogs & cats. Bottom line, they are fantastic people, and we’ll never take our Rudy elsewhere. Read Less

Dr. Jewell and Dr. Ladegast are two of the the kindest humans I have ever met. They only hire staff that have the same enormous heart and dedication to all pets and people. In the seven and a half years I have been a client I have experienced nothing but compassion, sincerity, and selfless altruism from all members of All Pets. I have been comforted by them when I can’t hold back tears about a diagnosis. I have celebrated new pets and new babies with them. I have gotten calls after hours and on weekends checking on my four-legged boys. I could not ask for a more devoted team to care for my dogs, and by extension, to care for me. I admire their unconditional devotion and superhuman abilities to do a job that is often thanked, but never thanked enough. THANK YOU, Dr. Jewell, Dr. Ladegast, and team. From the bottom of my heart. I live over an hour away and was willing to drive my pet there in order to save it. I was told that they get so many texts that this is just how they do things at that office. They could of asked me if I was a client but instead they let an animal die by assuming I wasn't. The woman on the phone was cold and acted as if my pet wasn't an important issue. That I basically was "over reacting to the situation." Never in my life have I ever heard of a vet clinic doing this! I even tried calling local vets, even they called back saying they couldnt help and suggested places to call. I will be looking for a new vet clinic to take my exotics to from now on! I love the vets and vet techs and the service I've received here. I would absolutely give them 5 stars if I didn't repeatedly have issues with the receptionist. She isn't kind. She gives poor customer service. Every time I speak with her or hear her speak with other customers, she acts as if there are any number of things she'd rather be doing than helping. She has, twice now, attempted to refuse to even schedule an appointment for me. Without asking what the issue was, looking at the schedule, or looking up my file. I have never called with a question and had it answered over the phone. Her attitude and behavior alone have been enough for me to consider taking all of my babies somewhere else. I just can't bring myself to walk away from the medical staff. It's sad that the first person a patient/customer encounters acts like she hates her job. Read Less

We found Dr. Jewell shortly after moving to Louisville, and she oversaw our dog's care from adulthood, through a hip replacement, and into her senior years. The facilities are excellent, with some kind of padded flooring, comfortably sized exam rooms, onsite x-rays, and onsite ultrasound, all of which we utilized at some point. She is on time with her appointments. When our dog's hip dysplasia worsened, Dr. Jewell calmly and thoroughly explained our options, allowing us to make an informed decision which. We miss Louisville for lots of reasons, but Dr. Jewell is near the top. You often times don't realize what you've got until you no longer have it. We're trying to find another vet in our new city, and reading reviews. This made me realize that others are doing the same in Louisville. Over the years and different cities, we've visited over a dozen vets. Given a choice, we would pick Dr. Jewell over them all. Read Less

I can't say enough about how informative & caring she and her staff all are. I thank her from the bottom of my heart. Belle began eating again Wednesday night and is still on antibiotics, but is returning to her normal self. Best experience I have had at a vet! I took my dog Julia in because she has had dry, itchy skin for several years. Other vets recommended antihistamines to address the issue and did not seem concerned. After taking her to Dr. Jewell, she identified the cause, rather than just addressing the symptoms. Julia needed antibiotics, anti-fungal, and a mousse cleanser, for nearly a month and later, numerous teeth removed because of an infection between her gums and skin. This could have been prevented if other vets took the same care with their craft as Dr. Jewell. The treatment that Julia received and the compassion and friendliness I was shown was much greater than I expected. I will never take Julia anywhere else. Read Less

I took my rat, Bernie, here back in August. She had a very large tumor the size of a tennis ball, and while she was still acting normal, happy, & like herself, the tumor was beginning to stretch her skin too thin & it was going to become an open wound soon. I knew going in, that I would most likely be putting her down. Bernie was my best friend & had traveled and moved across the country with me twice. They were extremely kind, sweet, and loving towards both me and Bernie. They were gentle with her throughout the entire process. They gave me the choice of euthanizing her - stating that she could live longer, however if the tumor were to become an open wound, it could become infected. I decided to do what was best for her, despite how hard it was saying good bye to my best friend. They let both me & my boyfriend in the back room where they put her in small clear box and attached a small hose that would fill it with laughing gas so she would be numb when they euthanized her. I was allowed to hold her paw, cry, and say my goodbye properly, all while the vet and nurses comforted me and brought me tissues. When they euthanized Bernie, she was peaceful & it was extremely humane. They then asked if I wanted her cremated (which I did) and left me alone in the room with her to mourn until I was ready for them to take her. Throughout my entire experience there, they did not rush me, and were only loving and comforting. That day, I was able to take a clay paw imprint home with me, and less than a week later, they sent me a sweet card in the mail. I understand that - to most - Bernie was just a rat, but their respect and love for all animals touched my heart and helped me grieve properly. I am forever grateful for them and for making saying goodbye easier. I highly recommend them to all my pet owner friends of all types. They're clean, kind, and patient.Read Less

I have had pets my entire life and Dr. Jewell must be the 5th or 6th vet I have worked with in my time as a fur, fin and feather mama. There is simply no one more exceptional. While others may have had an issue with the front desk, that has been rectified with the hiring of Dee in the past 6 months. She is charming, warm and accommodating beyond measure. Not only do they get me in right away when there is an issue that needs addressing, but the time Dr. Jewell has taken with my dog and cat means so much. She is thorough, fair and will give you options when it comes to treatment. Pricing is also fair compared to other vets I have used. Is it cheap? No. Is it overpriced? Not at all. You get what you pay for. My cat was feral and the ONLY vet who has every been able to handle her is Dr. Jewell. Her tech, Stacy, is absolutely magical when it comes to dealing with animals as well. What led me to review after the years I have been going to All Pets was the experience I had this past Saturday. After 17 years, it was time to say goodbye to my beloved cat. Dr. Jewell came in on her day off, they situated us in a dimly lit room and told me all of the options. No one was in a hurry. All that mattered was that the experience would be the least traumatic for my little one who was leaving me. Afterwards, Dr. Jewell wrapped my sweet girl in a towel, holding her close and even gently patting her. It's those moments when you realize just how integral a vet is to the family. Dr. Jewell, Stacy and Dee ARE my extended family. They are gentle, fair, engaged and caring. I feel so thankful to have found them and encourage anyone who wants to add their pets' doctor to their extended family to visit Dr. Jewell and All Pets. Read Less

Avoid this vet. Not only have I had consistently bad experiences with this vet but I have yet to hear a positive review from many others who have initially gone here. Dr. Jewell is overly stubborn. She was so incredibly rough even with just trimming my dog's nails that he was skittish for the rest of the day. During trimming his nails my dog was screaming as Dr. Jewell and the tech were laying on top of him and she would not acknowledge or listen to anything I said with not needing to be on him or doing it later.  After, she sat us down for a 15 minute lecture on how to control our "bad dog" with idiotic suggestions on holding him upside down to create trust with strangers. I found her beyond incompetent, as she would not give us an actual answer to any questions about certain medications we were asking about. Just overall rude, including the front office, and I don't plan on ever going back. For almost four months they were not even remotely able to get rid of my puppy's roundworms. Whereas my new vet was "magically" able to with her method of giving the doses in two separate doses based on the worm's lifecycle, rather than just one and continuing the process. My neighbors have made comments such as Dr. Jewell "manhandling" their pets and had terrible experiences. Don't waste your time or money with this vet. Read Less

Dr. Jewell was a very thorough vet, however also very stubborn.  She prescribed our sick guinea pig two medicines for which there were generics for, and we could get them cheaper, not just through her, but through other pet pharmacies as well.  She insisted he stay on the named brand meds, and have them bought and shipped through her, which would cost us about a 100+ bucks a month.  Her staff leaves a lot to be desired.  But Dr. Jewell, although not willing to negotiate for the needs of the pet owner or the pet, she is a guru of sorts when it comes to exotics.  She was very patient, very kind, and very compassionate towards my daughter and our guinea pig.  She spent several hours explaining to my daughter and I, his condition, how it effected him, used props, pictures in books and what the ultimate outcome was going to be.  She gave us time to collect ourselves, and ask as many questions at the appointment as we needed to.  She was very brilliant with our little piggie...and I did not get the impression she viewed him as a "pocket pet" or just another guinea pig to "play doctor" with.  I would have given her a MUCH better score if it were not for her staff, and the medication and the willingness to bend to meet the needs of us and our pet in a more cost effective manner.  But, I guess she doesn't see it as cost effective since perhaps she realizes, the next time she sees him it will be to put him down or perhaps not at all...because he'll be gone.  So she needs to bilk all the money she can.  Problem is she doesn't realize we have another guinea pig that may need treatment in the future and we will be less likely to take him to someone who doesn't understand the needs of cost effective treatment, and return to our old vet that is closer and much more honest about pricing and has a great staff, even though she's not as confident in her skills to treat exotics.

So I call the next day, day 2, only to be told that is basically my fault that my pet died because I didnt specify if I was a client, which I am. I will be letting everyone I know and those I don't what happened and how I was made to feel. DONT OFFER EMERGENCY SERVICES IF YOU DONT WANT TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEM!

Read Less

I would highly recommend this facility to anyone. Our Cockatoo was sick Tuesday morning. Even though we live 2 hours away and Ms. Jewel had surgeries scheduled all afternoon she and her staff were able to fit Belle in ASAP. I can't say enough about how informative & caring she and her staff all are. I thank her from the bottom of my heart. Belle began eating again Wednesday night and is still on antibiotics, but is returning to her normal self. Not only did Ms. Jewel come to the waiting/comfort room to talk to us twice about what was going on and our options, but she called us this morning to check on Belle. She truly cares & has so much compassion for your pet & your family. We love Ms. Jewel. Read Less

Sure, she may not tell you everything you want to hear all the time.....meaning she may offend you with certain comments, but that's because she cares about the animals first and foremost.
