We love Animal Medical Center of Middletown! They make us feel so welcomed and always make our vizsla feel loved. They have several toys in the room to entertain her and when the vet and tech come in the room they get on the floor with her and let her kiss them, which she loves! I've been with this clinic since long before they moved to the new office. They cared for my previous dogs until they died and now my 'new' dogs are 11 and 8 and going strong. The staff is caring and pleasant and the facility is always clean. The only issue I have is the newer ladies at the front desk turned away a man who thought his dog was bloating. Any vet tech worth their salt knows a dog with bloat needs immediate treatment or they could die very quickly. I know this is not an emergency facility but no vet should ever turn away a life or death situation. I am hoping this was a rookie mistake. But I've been raising Springer Spaniels most of my adult life and she and the staff at Animal Medical Center fall right in with many of my own philosophies. Great until your pet is actually sick; two visits, $395 dollars, and a hospital trip to have them diagnosed in the ER for less than your vet visits that were misdiagnosed and your concerns were blown off. Stay away if you love your furry friends. Our baby had parvo and we didn't get a diagnosis until day 4 of her sickness due to AMC's lack of care and concern for her. Read Less

I have a cat that will be 22 years old this spring. I was extremely worried about taking her in as like most cat's she doesn't travel well. I was afraid that just the stress would kill her but she hasn't had a checkup since we moved here 3 years ago. They made the visit so pleasant and I couldn't believe how well she did. It was my long hair cat's 1st visit to the AMCM and I was delighted to find that cats had their own room for visits complete with pheromones being wafted into the air to help calm her. I was expecting that the vet would need to shave the fur down her spine to get out the really nasty matts that had developed, but Dr. Donna just very patiently and gently proceeded to comb through each matt separately until my kitty was wonderfully silky again. As all animals don't like going to the vet, all the doctors and the ladies at the front desk make it as comforting as possible for a most pleasurable experience. I love this place. My twelve year old border collie is very nervous going to the vet but the staff here spend extra time with her helping to make her feel less nervous. They are quick to fill prescriptions and are always courteous and polite. Best vet in the area. Read Less

Roo has never had so much fun at the vets office! He was playing with the toys, loving on the doctors, and he normally sits in the corner. I went to AMC for the first time today and took my dog, Maddie. Our previous vet experiences have been extremely traumatic. Not so much today. Dr. Allen sat with Maddie and allowed plenty of time for her to warm up before performing an exam. She let me hold her while she did the exam. Maddie was still nervous but it was nothing compared to what she's experienced at our last vet in her 11 years! She was much calmer, and very relaxed on our drive home where she is usually a nervous wreck (even though she loves car rides - as long as it doesn't involve the vet). She's been relaxed the rest of the day as well, and I can say that is very different - usually she whines and won't leave my side after a vet trip. I live in Salem, IN and it is definitely worth the hour and ten minute drive to come here. I will be bringing Maddie here from now on.Read Less

I just want to say that Dr. Caudill is the most professional veterinarian we have ever seen. She is always very caring. We have had our pets spayed, neutered, teeth cleaned, etc. Every time she has done her best to make sure that not only are we happy as the pet parents, but that our dogs are in the very best condition. I was very impressed with this veterinary clinic. The facility was very clean and neat, and even in the late afternoon the staff was all very friendly. When I checked in I was presented with a towel sprayed with cat pheromones to place over my cat's carrier. I was skeptical at first, but it did seem to calm her down. I had to wait a little while, but no more than 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The exam room looked more like an animal shelter than a doctor's office, with a cat tree and blankets. The vet and vet tech really seemed to care about my cat's wellbeing, and were able to answer any of my questions. I'll definitely take my cat back for her checkup next year, and will recommend this facility to anyone in the Middletown area looking for a vet. Read Less

Both times I've taken our cat to Dr. Caudill, we have had to leave without some part of the treatment or exam completed "because our cat was stressed" and instructed to come back after giving our cat gabapentin, which we did to see side effects of a dizzy cat falling and unable to walk for 12 hours. I understand the practice philosophy is to be stress free, but when the pet is not given treatment, this increases the stress of the owner, which then affects the pet at home and produces further hardship of drugging and bringing the pet in multiple times. Possible solutions were to have the owner assist in the exam and to be part of the decision to treat it or not. As a psychologist I understand the long term effects of trauma and chronic stress, I should be given the option of making that decision with the vet. I am sad to say that I am disappointed and feel that my cat's needs were not met every time I leave this facility.Read Less

Dr Hofmeister is amazing with my dog Bello, she is a very caring, compassionate person and it shows through in her work. Bello gets excited every time I pull into the parking lot.
