We've used Dr. Goranflo for years.  He's board certified in dogs and cats, pragmatic in his approach to care, and the office goes by appointment (versus 100% walk-in, with unpredictable wait times).  The practice is neat and clean (the front office area looks like it could be a pediatrician's office).  Many of the support staff have been there for years.  Lastly, Dr. Goranflo will present the best options for diagnosis/treatment, even when it involves a specialist referral outside of his practice. I highly recommend Dr. Goranflo & Auburndale Animal Hospital.  My family has taken our pets to him for years.  My grandparents even took their pets to him when my parents were kids.  Everyone there is friendly and provides great service.  Our pets have needed various things, from shots and flea medicines to major surgeries and being put to sleep. Regardless of the service and/or need, we trust Dr. Goranflo and his staff because of  the consistently high level of service.  It can be costly, which is why I didn't  give the full five stars, but I do believe you generally get what you pay for... and for me, it's generally worth it for the four-legged family members! Dr Goranflo has been caring for the family pets for over 20 years and he is the best of the best. I was skeptical why my parents still went to a vet in the part of town we lived in 10 years ago. After my experience with my first pet of my own, I know why and will continue going there as long as he is there. I would say I pass about 15 different vets to get to Dr Goranflo but he is very thorough with the animals and makes sure you know what is going on. He will not tell you what you want to hear, he will give you his professional opinion whatever it may be. Years of experience and great knowledge equal a vet you can't easily replace. It's like taking your Lexus to the Lexus dealer, sure you may pay a little more for some things you can get done cheaper at another place, but I would rather have them done right the first time. My cat, Wiley, has been going to see Dr. Goranflo since the day after I brought her home from the Humane Society a year and a half ago. As a new dog owner, I can't compare this vet to another but having talked to my dog-owning friends after my appointment here, I think it is reasonable that I was disappointed with the service here.I adopted a large dog from the humane society and had to take him in for the initial check-up the first week.  First my appointment was rescheduled about 6 hours before it (which is fine if there is an emergency) but my new appt time left no time between work and vet for a good walk for an active dog.  So we went in early to do paperwork and it still took 30 minutes past my appt time to see the vet.  I now had an anxious dog picking up on his owner's annoyance.  The staff was all polite and friendly to me but once we went in to see the vet, he didn't even take a minute to pet the dog or introduce himself.  Just pinned the dog to the floor and tried to take his temperature (and we all know how they do that in dogs). Anyway, during the whole short exam my dog was freaking out and all I got from the vet was "you're going to have to crate him and you better watch out that he doesn't bite other dogs" even though he is very gentle with other dogs and calm in the house?  I had clearly told them I had no idea about the dog's previous experiences at a vet's office.I just felt that the "patient relations" aspect was lacking.Edit:So Patricia H, let me guess who you work for.... Since your review seems to be in response to mine, I will simply say that you are reading a lot more into this than is written and making a lot of assumptions in addition to appearing to take it quite personally.  You are free to make any review you want, but I stand by my opinions now as much as when I made the initial review.
