Blue Cross Animal Hospital

Louisville, Kentucky
General Info
Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Louisville is a veterinary clinic devoted to the all-round well-being of pets in the community. This clinic is located in Louisville, United States. The clinic respects and encourages animal health and care in a reliable and professional way. The experienced team provides personalized wellness plans, regular check-ups, and a wide range of treatments tailored to each pet’s needs. Services typically encompass anesthesiology, nutritional counseling, diagnostics, prescription medications, homeopathy, allergy testing, and ultrasound. These techniques are based on careful attention to detail and incorporate both preventive and therapeutic methods. The clinic is also well-equipped to minimize animal stress during visits, which enhances the accuracy of diagnosis and treatment. Clients often commend the compassionate and empathetic approach of the veterinary staff, which helps to establish rapport and ensure pets receive continuous care. Blue Cross Animal Hospital is continually growing and building a foundation in the Louisville pet owner community. From ensuring young pets get a healthy start to aiding senior pets in managing chronic illnesses, the clinic’s experts are always available to help. Their love for animals is also reflected by the fact that they are always educating themselves regarding developments in veterinary medicine. This ensures that every pet gets the best possible care. It also encourages responsible pet ownership and community involvement, making the practice more than just a clinic but also a valuable resource for pet families. Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Louisville structures every session by aligning with the animal’s energy flow. The clinic goes on standby when the movement slows down. Should bodily alignment alter, strategic intentions transform. Throughout Kentucky, this rhythm-based care continues to resound. Each visit initiates a calibration process assessing the nature of the pet’s entry into the study room, as well as the orientation speed and gaze steadiness or flicker. Care evolves from the imitation that begins at that precise moment. A cat spirals as staff pulls out. When a dog starts to lean, it gently moves its body forward. Physical contact takes place only after long pauses, when the levels of readiness signals become stable. Silence is frequent when interaction contrast is a planned stillness after sound, light after dim, and space after proximity. Blue Cross Animal Hospital offers several medical services such as dermatology, weight management, joint care programs, preventive testing, and pain management. They use decision trees instead of sequence enforcement, where alertness spikes stop the diagnostic process. The state of serenity increases and what they are doing continues. This specific tool allows animals with a history of anxiety to perform tests without triggering the vicious cycle of distress. Discharge plans need to be individualized and adapted to the levels of stabilization such as distancing, reducing interactions or utilizing rhythm (meals, walks) to achieve regulation. Families also have access to emotional pacing techniques in addition to medical aftercare. Through these subtle steps, the transition to home becomes true and not just a clinical recurrence. Blue Cross Animal Hospital offers its services to Louisville and Kentucky homes by listening before speaking, mirroring before handling, and responding before prescribing.

Do not go here. They dont clean the tables between pets, as there was visibly filth all over the table when i was in exam room. Cleared my new kitten to be around my other pets without testing for feline leukemia and i end up in the after hours emergency room to find out he has feline leukemia. Why would you not test that in a new kitten especially when i told you where i got him?? Now my other cats are at risk and im stuck waiting for 4 to 8 weeks for it to incubate before i can test them to find out if they have contracted it. My old vet always suggested testing for this upon first exam as well as the vet I went to after them. Also avoid the after hours vet they have posted on the door. They wont have any of your records as they are not affiliated and they tried to get 1500 dollars out of me for what Shively told me the next day was not an emergency- they wrote on my paperwork that we discussed Euthanasia which we did not. When i got to Shively they told me the kitties blood was so diluted it didnt have a fighting chance. So had i stayed with the emergency vet, metro animal in jtown, that bluecross endorses, i would have spent 1500 dollars on a cat that clearly to any vet had no fighting chance. The amount i did get charged without the "emergency hospitalization" was tremendous. I had a bad experience when my other cat was spayed at bluecross as they told me her stitches would desolve because they clearly had no idea what kind of stitches they gave her. A month later she is digging at her belly because the stiches should have been removed two weeks before. To this day she hides for 2 days anytime she sees the cat carrier come out. With the new kitten, They had me waiting in the examination room with my kitten for over an hour with no warning or explaination. I wouldnt mind waiting of they had just checked on me and let me know why i was left in there so long. They did not check his ears on first visit, again protocol for most vets on any exam. i had to ask them to, and what do you know, he had an ear infection! How do you not know protocol for new kitten exams?! I am appauled. And if i find out my other cats have feLv after you cleared this kitten (said after diahreah stops they can be around eachother and not to worry about them sharing food/water) I am going to be even more livid. One final thing. The middle aged to older lady who worked at the desk the first couple times i came was horribly rude. I havent seen her the last couple times so Mayne they got rid of her. I will say some of the staff is nice. Read Less

I began taking my boy Eddie here 2 years ago. He needed surgery. Dr. Campbell was great, his staff very caring. I continued to bring Eddie for other conditions, heart murmur and associated issues. Eddie received great care. This week I brought Eddie in, old age an illness finally caught up. The staff was so kind and compassionate. They didn't try to rush or pressure me. They reassured me through the entire process. The last person my 15 year old Brittany saw was me holding him. These are great people! Kind, caring and compassionate don't even begin to describe them. The level of service, excellent. If you need a veterinarian, I highly recommend Blue Cross Animal Hospital. It's worth the time and drive. Read Less

Thank you For everything you all do for our little two angles (Gracie) & (Moo-Moo). Love this place they are the best This was a 5 star review. ... There’s a few Vet assistants there that are so wonderful. Update : took older girl dog back today cause was ask too in a week to have a check up to make sure she was getting better. All they needed was a urine sample. . I was told leaving the last visit that this visit was covered and paid for from the last visit. it was another $70.00 dollars today. They was supposed to get a urine sample and they didn’t do that. they gave more antibiotics tho for the same thing but didn’t check her urine One person tells you one thing and someone else will say another thing. I miss Dr. Campbell the older man. They always used to help even if you didn’t have all the money at once and needed to pay the rest in a month or so. BTW we always came back and paid for any services others may not have of but we did every time. His son runs it now and he is nice and all but for what we paid for two visits he should have checked our little one out more. See More Read Less

Dr. Campbell can come off as a bit unfriendly and distant, but he is amazing and very passionate about what he does. I trusted my cats to him on multiple occasions (one had cancer and eventually had to be put down, and one developed bladder stones and is living the high life on new food) and he was absolutely amazing. The wait can be long sometimes, but he is very thorough in his visits. If we lived closer, we'd still be going there, but I highly recommend this place to anyone needing quality veterinary care. I found a dog downtown. I went here to get her fixed and explained to them that I thought she had a hernia. I asked them to look at it when she was in surgery. I was able to find her an amazing home and she started to puke. They found that it was a 3lb tumor and not a hernia. I spoke to the vet that found her tumor and he explained to me that it was almost impossible for them not to of seen a tumor that size. She died yesterday. If I knew it was a tumor months ago, I could of done something sooner. She might not of died. I am very disappointed in blue cross and will never go back. Read Less

DO NOT take your pets here! I rarely take the time to actually write a review, however I feel that it is necessary to not just give the 1 star, but to also explain. I had a terrible experience with this vet last year and will never return, way too long to explain. However, my parents were still taking their dogs there until last weekend. This vet has been treating their dog for an upper respiratory infection for over a month and never once did blood work. The dog stopped... eating last Friday. They took her back in on Wednesday and were told to take her off of the antibiotics, still no blood work done. They took her in again on Friday because at this point she hadn't eaten in a week and was so weak she could barely stand. They were told she was dehydrated and they gave her fluids, again no blood work done. The dog puked all Saturday night so they decided to take her to shively where they took one look at her and knew before even doing the blood work that she was in kidney failure. Blood work confirmed this. The vet said she had been for a while, they just didn't know. They could not believe that this vet never once did blood work. Maybe had this vet once in the years they had been going there done blood work or at the very least done so when she stopped eating, they would have caught it sooner. She has now suffered unnecessarily and has now passed away while she was all alone. This is now the second dog that we have had that has passed away due to their lack of care. Again, DO NOT take your pets here! See More Read Less

My GrandDaughter has just recently brought home a pet Ferrett. We had disgussed the tremendous amount of care and great expense it is to take in an animal like the ferrett. She had taken Petee to her other GrandParents house for the weekend. Some how Petee had gotten into Rat Poison and she called me in tears. I told her to take him to the Vet. She called back and said they were all closed so I looked up animal hospitals and blue cross came up. I contacted her other grandmoth...er and told her I would pay just take him in. She called me back upset and said she was turned away without even haveing triage! This is simply unacceptable! If you are going to advertise as a Pet HOSPITAL then you should have to act as a hospital and not turn people away because your schedule is full!

Do not bring your pet here for an emergency. Yes they were busy but our dog was in respiratory distress and should have been seen immediately. Instead we had to wait 40 minutes and our beloved dog died on the table. No, he couldn't have been saved but he could've had a more dignified death assisted by the Doctor (which we repeatedly asked for) instead of gasping and dying a slow death.
