My son took my two yorkies to this clinic for their annual shots and asked that they be given the same shots as last showing on their records. But after they looked up their chart they told him they needed additionals shots and charge me $173.00 for shots that I did not ask for nor was it beneficial to my ten year old yorkie who is very sick with diabetes and on medication. Within an hour he started shaking, running a fever, and throwing up because of this clinic trying to pad the vet bill even at the risk of my dogs health. Very unethical. The vets are great and the prices can't be beat.. BUT the receptionist either needs help or to be replaced. She rarely answers sounding composed and able to assist you at that moment. Hold times last 3-5 minutes if you're lucky to not have to call several times. Makes it hard to keep returning to Dr. John's for my dogs needs.Read Less

The vets and the vet techs are really nice and compassionate, but whoever answers the phone is rude is hell. I called to today for an appointment and she asks can I please hold but before I could respond she put me on hold anyway. Why ask if I can hold when she didn't wait for an answer? Then I feel like she purposely says there's no openings. A few months ago when she said there were no openings I brought my dog in anyway for a spider bite that my dog had a bad reaction to, the vet tech brought her back and the vet went ahead and cleaned her up and got us out in 15 minutes. They were very helpful and good with sonic. I have some balance issues so I use a walker and since sonic is a big dog they let me have curb service today. A really nice man took him in and trimmed his nails and they even took payment at the car. It really helped me so I could get him taken care of. Dr. John dedicates much of his life to his customers, managing his clinic as well as nightly visits to Feeders Supply. We've been able to get quick appointments for illnesses as well as regular services (shots, surgeries, etc.). His staff has been empathetic when I needed it most, letting me sit in a quiet room after learning my 13-yr old cat and friend was severely sick. We've also used them for puppy & dog heartworm tests and rabies vaccinations. Check out their website for his rotating schedule at Feeders. If you go, make a point to arrive early. Several people do to get on the list and on a busy night, arriving too late may mean missing a spot for that evening. If you have anxious pets, especially cats, bring a carrier for the wait. I started using Dr. John's after being a client at East Louisville. East Louisville is very nice and I have no complains about the quality of care, but Dr. John's is literally half the price for equivalent care.The staff are friendly (almost to the point of it being weird--every sentence ends with sir or ma'am) and competent. Dr John has a special place in our hearts. He was the most caring, friendly person with all of our rescues. They trusted him. It was amazing to see my sisters dog get excited to see Dr John. I took all four of my dogs there in March for annual exam.  I have one older dog on Predisone 5 mg.  He refilled the prescription by justing putting it in Dr. Wiggins old bottle I carried in.  He told me  "if you need more just call". I called 3 days ago and  spoke with Monica, she was extremely rude and told me she would ask him when she sees him and get back with me.  This was all after I had to get firm with her on the phone because she did not feel like helping me at all.  Well, 3 days later no call no message. I called back she answered the phone and then preceded to tell me she does not know what I'm talking about and I did not talk to her. I wrote her name down three days ago.  She put me on hold and said she would ask Dr. John.  He said I have got to come back in and get the dogs checked.  I have 5 more months until their yearly exam is due on my pets.  I don't know about everyone else, but I cant afford to take my animals to the vet every few months for nothing.  I have never had this issue before with any vet.  But this really concerns me because Dr. John specifically said  if you need more predisone just call to get it refilled.  What a lie!  If you want good service and the truth regarding your pets and not to be robbed blind from a greedy vet practice go elsewhere.  Really a shame, especially in this economy.  Typical bate and switch.   Alicia A Read Less

Super friendly staff that caters to you or your pets needs. My dog is a diva and doesn't like other women so they gave me a guy tech to help the Veterinarian. They also run a quick clinic one night a week where you can take your pet for shots, nail trim or whatever. If you need more involved stuff, like an x-ray, you need to make an appointment for the regular clinic. I saw a new vet, Dr. Clay today and she was very kind. Read Less

There is nothing but good to say about Dr. John. He and his staff are very caring and know how to build rapport with animals.  He is extremely knowledgable.  His prices are beyond reasonable.  The clinics at Feeders Supply stores can be somewhat chaotic - you may have to wait in line - but if you just need to get your pet vaccinated it is worth it. They will still get a good checkup by a highly qualified vet.  And if you need care for a sick or injured animal there is no better place to go. Read Less
