Dr. Lanz has been treating our aging cattle dog mix, Dave. He has severe arthritis and has recently become less ambulatory. She has only seen him twice, but he is already responding to the acupuncture treatments. Her bedside manor is impeccable. She is the rare vet who is just as at ease dealing with animals as humans. The thing that has been most impressive is her responsiveness. She celebrates in Dave's successes as much as we do. And she has been kind enough to offer immediate veterinary advice in a time of need - something that is over and above the call of duty. I've been using Healing Hands and Dr. Lanz since March, when one of our dogs was diagnosed with blindness due to SARDS.  We were pursuing a variety of different treatments for her underlying endocrine issues at that time, and decided to try acupuncture to help her body accept the treatments, and help with her overall health.  It was important to me to have someone come to our home, as vet offices tend to stress out our animals.I could not be happier with Dr. Lanz - she is wonderful, caring, and knowledgeable.  I love having another vet with a different perspective to review our dog's blood tests and exam information.  She treats our other two dogs with love and respect, and our dog's acupuncture treatment is a family experience in which we all take part!We are in maintenance mode now, only seeing Dr. Lanz every 6-8 weeks, but I consider her services a valuable part of our dog's treatment, and cannot say enough good things about her!  I give her my highest recommendation. My 16-year-old kitty, The Queen, had her first acupuncture treatment for her arthritis today, and I couldn't be happier about my experience with Dr. Lanz, owner of Healing Hands Pet Acupuncture. I wasn't sure what reaction I would get from my calm (yet getting older and grumpier) kitty, but Dr. Lanz's demeanor kept The Queen mostly calm and well behaved.After an initial exam, Dr, Lanz quickly identified Queen's primary arthritis areas. The Queen, miraculously and thanks to some well timed treats, sat mostly still for 15 minutes with little tiny needles dangling from her back and joints. Dr. Lanz then performed cold laser acupuncture on harder to reach joints. She recommended an herbal supplement to help facilitate the treatment, and also made some additional helpful suggestions including a reference for a local primary care vet that makes home visits.I like the approach of combining Eastern and Western medicine to care for my fluffy little love, and am looking forward to Dr. Lanz's next visit in a few weeks.
