Springhurst is more on the expensive side (although you can get a discount by the time you've brought your third furbaby in) but well worth it. The vets take their time with you, make sure to answer all of your questions, and are quite knowledgeable. There is some amazing story about our dog Dasha who was so lucky to meet because of our daughter the great Doctor Lisa Keehner and her wonderful Team from the Springhurst Animal Hospital. This Hospital has the unique acupuncture theraphy which helped our dog to stand on her paws again and walk. Dasha couldn't do that more than one month because of the problem with her spine. The prescribed medication didn't work for her as well and just after six sessions of acupuncture which was made by Doctor Keehner our Dasha started to walk much better. So, we are so thankful to have our beloved dog again and we appreciate the Springhurst Animal Hospital's service a lot. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again. You did the Best! Read Less

We have taken our furry family member here since we adopted him nearly 9 years ago and highly recommend Springhurst Animal Hospital. They are amazing there and really care about their patients. Dr. Hankins is the best, hands down. There is no one else we would trust with Buddy's care. The office manager, Mary is super friendly and helpful too. On certain occasions we have even gotten a follow up care to check on Buddy when even our own Primary Care Doctors don't do that. They truly go above and beyond! Highly recommend! Read Less

We have been clients at SAH for 17 years. I cannot recommend this clinic, its docs and staff more highly. The front of the clinic staff is friendly and organized, and Mary (the practice manager) is always available to address questions and concerns. The kennel staff has always taken great care when we boarded, and the grooming staff does well. The docs are knowledgeable, and willing to offer advice, even in hard situations. We recently had to make the difficult decision to euthanize our elderly dog, and the staff was informative, kind and compassionate through the process. A new dog recently joined our family, and we hope we have a long relationship with this practice with the new dog as well. We recently moved to a different part of town, and have numerous pet care options close by, but we'll drive to Springhurst because we know our fur baby will get top notch care there! Cannot say enough good things about this animal hospital and its staff. Everyone there is so kind, welcoming, and helpful. A cyst on my dog's back popped one night and they were able to get him in for surgery the very next day to get him taken care of. They take time to answer all your questions and plan treatment specific to your pet; they truly care about your pet's health and well-being. My dog was treated for ear infection. Everything was all good until i got an email saying if i wanted to come back to have his ear checked....Knowing that his ear got better. I was like ok. Not knowing I was going to get charged $40 for the Dr. To give me the thums up??!! We lost 3 dogs, their deaths unrelated, within a month of each other (1 cancer, 1 stroke, one from blood clots). The compassion and treatment was exceptional. Springhurst Animal Hospital cares. They are also up to date on the latest treatment for your pet. My Ally has allergies and now she gets a shot that lasts for months. No more daily injections or pills, such a difference. Every person you come in contact with is pleasant. I've tried a few vets in Louisville. Spring Hurst Animal Hospital is far and beyond the best. Our elderly poodle, Pepsi has been a Springhurst patient for 15 years. Dr. Hankins and his staff have always taken excellent care of our fur baby! Mary, the office manager, is always helpful and organized and does a great job making sure things run smoothly. Staff is always friendly. My cat Auggie was very sick, so sick I was afraid I may lose him. The people at Springhurst were wonderful with him. In addition to giving him outstanding medical attention, they were caring and attentive. They answered my every question before, during, and after his treatment and sent him home healed and happy. I did not have a good experience with this animal hospital. First of all, they are extremely overpriced!!!! So if you're willing to pay about 6x more than you should, this may be the place for you. I took my dog for a teeth cleaning on Monday. When I made the appointment, the receptionist failed to tell me that my dog needed to fast the night before. I did, however, realize this the morning she was supposed to go for the cleaning so I didn't feed my dog. When I got to the appointment Monday morning, they put us in a waiting for 20 minute before the techs came to give us an estimate for the cost of the cleaning. After a brief evaluation and more waiting, the techs came in with a $600-800 estimate for the teeth cleaning. What?!!! I have never seen a teeth cleaning cost this much! She included extractions on the estimate without even thoroughly checking my dog's teeth. The list of charges was insane. I felt like I was at a car repair place that charges you for every little thing and finds extra things to charge you for so that you have to pay them a lot of money. The ONLY reason I was considering this place was because they have an echo machine to monitor my dog's heart (she had a heart murmur 2 years ago but seems to have outgrown this). After looking at the ridiculous estimation, I walked right out of that place and said I was not going to pay $800 for my dog's teeth cleaning. I went to my car and cried in relief that I did not leave my sweet girl at this awful place. I will never EVER go back to this money making place. Ever. Do not waste your money. Sure, the people are nice, but it's a business. Not a loving animal hospital at all. I took my dog to Goosecreek Animal Clinic and paid $130 for my dog's teeth cleaning. Goosecreek took AMAZING care of my little girl and put my mind at ease when I left her. I will be a loyal customer to Goosecreek. They genuinely love their patients at Goosecreek and will not overcharge you. Do not waste your money at Springhurst!! Read Less

I just had my first visit today with my two kitties and I am blown away at how personable the staff is. Dr. Keehner was amazing with Beau and Cleo and really good at explaining as well as educating me as a pet owner :). Im so glad to have finally found a great vet for my kitties. Izzy will never enjoy walking into any vet office, because she's a big chicken, but if she had a choice, we KNOW she'd pick Springhurst! She doesn't want to admit how much she actually loves everyone here. Coming here for her first vet check up was the best decision we could've made after we adopted our pup five years ago. Vet seems very knowledgable, but will up-sale and over charge for everything. I called to make an appointment telling them exactly what was wrong with my dog. I got to the appointment and was told they do not treat that particular ailment but could refer me to another vet. Pretty sure they knew they could not help him when I called in. Then was told that my dog needed special food, different shots, ears cleaning, etc... Went to check-out and was handed an $80 bill, if I would have submitted to all their "extras" it would have been a $200 visit and my dog left none the better. What a joke. Just visited for the first time with our 1 year old dog, Griz...and looks like it's a perfect fit for our family! What amazing hospitality from the front desk, to Diana (the assistant), too Dr. Stello, to the check out staff...Griz and I give this place a "paws up" and are happy to return for good. I have two children, and am used to a wonderful pediatrician's office where we all " feel at home". I didn't get that feeling where we were taking Griz before, but we definitely found it today. Springhurst has been a great place for us and our "kids".  We don't have human children so our pets are our family.  We have been bringing our loved ones to Springhurst since we first moved to Louisville.  We recently adopted a kitten and the staff at Springhurst was awesome when we brought our princess in for her initial checkup.The staff is awesome and they have always been helpful.  Something to note would be the prices.  Their fees may be a little higher than others but.... you get what you pay for.  The services provided at Springhurst are top notch and have always gone out of their way in helping us with our little ones.When it comes to taking proper care of your family members, Springhurst's services are great. I do think the vets & staff are good. Dr Hankins really seems to care about my pets. I do think they should consider staying open later at least one or two nights a week year round. I also think they are a little more expensive here than some other vets. When we had our cat cremated after she passed away we were charge A LOT more here than we would have been charged at other vets in town - it didn't seem like something a vet should try to profit on... Other than the hours & expense I do feel like my pets receive very good care here. Read Less

These guys are the greatest. I've been to many different veterinary offices in the past and these guys are by far the best I have ever been too. You can tell that everyone in the office including the office staff, is knowledgable in regardings to caring for your pet. During medical procedures the veterinarian or another member of his staff will call to follow up with your pet to make sure they are doing alright. One of the other things about this office that I like, is that I can board my pets there as well as have them groomed all at one place. This way my pets get to know the people and they always enjoy going. I really am proud to say that Springhurst Animal Hospital is where I take my pets! Read Less
