I have been taking my animals here for years, and continue to take my pets here since I moved to Shelby County. My husband also transferred his dog to this clinic after seeing the level of care they provide.
Over the years, the 2-legged angels at Mt. Washington Animal Clinic have treated puppies, kittens, hit-by-cars (canine AND goose), a stray cat who had her tail blown off by some a** with fireworks and no soul. Every member of the staff is 110% dedicated to the best possible outcome for any patient at all times.
Because of their dedication, focus, honesty, and huge hearts, sometimes they may come across as terse or not focused on you. That's absolutely accurate. If you went to a human doctor, would you want him/her to focus on the Pomeranian in your purse? The receptionist and vet techs are so compassionate and often the first to follow up (makes sense, they're the first people to address your fur family's issue). Every vet has treated my animals with compassion, honesty, and alacrity. For me, the honesty is the most important part. As much as it hurts to hear your dog has cancer, it hurts the vet to tell you. Being able to ask Dr. Albert questions and get honest answers that were respectful of my dog first and me second helped me keep perspective and do what was best for my baby. Hearing from Dr. Rhinehart that my cat's odds of survival were slim to none, followed by her suggestions of how we could help him together, kept me from falling into despair. Watching Dr. Cecil whisper consolations while he catheterized my dog, witnessing his empathy, put both of us at ease. And the goose? Well, Dr. Albert fully invests in all her patients, from the time she sees them until they leave this earth.
The people at this clinic inspire me. They give animals a voice and they are never afraid to do the right thing. Because of my interactions here, I have become a better pet owner and animal advocate. Read Less
