We are new to the Shelbyville area and knew that we would eventually need to find a vet for our Shorkie, Dutch. However, he had other plans when he jumped off the chair and hurt his leg. That had us scrambling looking for a vet that would take us last minute. After calling two other vets and feeling frustrated that no one would help, East Shelby told us to bring him on in. We were so grateful for that and thankfully Dutch was just fine. He was quickly back to his wild, crazy self. Once there we found a wonderful, caring vet...Dr. Taylor and staff were absolutely awesome. My husband and I had to laugh when the lady that we assumed was the "receptionist" as she was the one that greeted us at the desk and had us fill out paperwork...she then walked into the room later in her lab coat and introduced herself as the vet. Talk about small town feel! Loved it. She was so attentive to all of Dutch's needs and helped us to understand more fully the need for more intensive dental care...no other vet had ever done that. After recently moving to Shelbyville, we needed a vet for our Puggle's annual check up and shots, along with that both our dogs needed nail trims. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Dr. Taylor and her staff are the absolute BEST!!!! ALL three of my boys they took care of for over 10 years before we sadly moved away to South Carolina. It was because of the love and care received there that my 3 boys (Porterhouse, 13yrs old bloodhound, Tbone, 12 yr old bloodhound and Sirloin, 8 yr old long hair dachsie) made the smooth transition to living here in their golden years and are still going strong. We have been bringing our cats here for 7 years and couldn't ask for a better vet. We live in Louisville and every once in a while I think I should find a vet closer to home, but then we go in for an appointment and I'm reminded of why we drive to ESAC. Both Doctors are fantastic. Outstanding office staff and veterinarians (Dr. Belcher and Dr. Taylor)!! The receptionists always provide great customer service and are accommodating to last minute appts and rescheduling. The entire staff is courteous to all customers and pets. The veterinarians and vet techs are incredibly thorough, candid, well educated and passionate. Dr. Belcher and Dr. Taylor ask great questions and answer my questions far beyond my expectations. They  also provide tips and pet care preventative measures relative to our Great Dane.  Dr. Belcher (Kathy) is our regular vet. She actually sits down in the floor and treats our our pup until 'Crimson' is completely comfortable. East Shelbyville Animal Clinic's (ESAC) prices are incredibly reasonable. They also offer discounts on multi pack flea, tick, and heart-worm treatments. Lastly, ESAC offers online scheduling as well as text and email reminders!! This is very handy for our busy working family that has to travel a bit to ESAC. *According to Dr. Taylor, the clinic will be launching an online store for meds, food, etc. within the coming weeks.I have been recommending ESAC to all my pet parent friends in Louisville - and I recommend them to you! Last week my cat came home from an afternoon of mouse hunting. I was shocked to see an infected wound on the top of his head. I called ESAC and they got me and the cat right in. It took an overnight visit with surgery and a drain to mend my poor fellow. Dr. Taylor was absolutely great and diagnosed by the following day that it was either a raccoon or oppossum because of the massive numbers of needle like pricks. Went back on Saturday and had the drain removed.This week the same cat came in after 45 minutes of outside time with a gash in his cheek and a deep puncture wound. You guessed it. I called ESAC and they fit us in right away again. The cat is now grounded indoors but my admiration and thanks go to the efficient, pleasant, competent staff of ESAC. Read Less
