Visits begin by quickly reviewing recent observation notes: activity levels, appetite, sleep, weather discomforts, and household disruptions. A comprehensive evaluation includes an assessment of joint flexibility, skin and coat condition, dental well-being, weight trends, and cardiovascular functionality. The comparison of these findings with previous visits helps to determine progress and whether changes in pacing or follow up intervals are warranted. Clark County Veterinary Clinic offers various services such as diagnostic tests, parasite prevention, vaccinations, nutrition and wellness programs, and chronic care. Factors also include school calendars, seasonal weather patterns that affect seniors comfort, and family caregivers’ availability. Veterinarians often urge pet owners to take their animals for routine checkups in times of allergies, travel, and after puppies and kittens mature. Clients leave with care summaries, visit checklists, and digital logs to track everyday activities and seasonal reminders linked to long-term health goals. Through multi-pet scheduling, symptom pacing, and app-based tracking, families maintain coordination without being overly taxed by routines. Clark County Veterinary Clinic fits household practices in Winchester and the broader Kentucky area seamlessly into the lives of pets and their owners by turning veterinary planning stages into progress milestones and daily habits into building blocks for dependable health care.

ATTN: Winchester Pet Parents: If you value honesty, friendliness, and a lack of thievery, AVOID Jeff Castle and his Clark County Veterinary Clinic! When attending his website, he offers a telephone and an e-mail. As someone at the time with no phone I e-mailed for a simple, easy, estimate of what a handful of things would cost. All I asked for was a range of the minimum, and maximum, these operations/etc would cost. Instead, I have to play ring around the rosey with e-mails of him simply stating "Please call" to get my estimates. EVEN AFTER I state I do not have a telephone, nor easy access to one, he says to call or come in for an estimate. I reply I'd rather spend that money on a vet visit for my beloved pets, and his response? TWO WEEKS of silence. I e-mail back saying thanks but no thanks, and his response NOW is he feels there is too much "miscommunication" in e-mails and text messages. Miscommunication, of a list? A simple list of numbers? No. If you can speak the list OFF a piece of stationary paper, you can transfer the words from that page to an e-mail with no problems, and certainly no miscommunication. Miscommunication DOES happen, however, when you verbally quote a price to a customer over the phone, they arrive 45 minutes later, and the quote has miraculously ballooned and they have no memory of having said the previous amount. I have had this happen AT THIS CLINIC. And the ballooned cost wasn't a mere $20-$50 either. I can place a monetary mistake to a one off chance. But from the DOCTOR himself, playing ring around the rosey and refusing to state numbers where I have physical proof of them? I no longer feel that was a one off chance, and I do NOT like how shady this vet clinic is! Avoid if AT all possible. There are MUCH better ones out there for you and your fuzzy loved ones! Read Less

I had a very positive experience with the Clark County Veterinary Clinic. The staff and the vet. were very attentive to my cat's needs, especially in a time when your stressed, your pet is stressed due to illness. They also offer a great grooming service that I was able to take advantage on my long hair Persian cat. They did a great job on my cat! I was also happy that they offer a non-sedation option for cats when they are being shaved. I was pleased with the reasonable rates charged for examination/treatment, as well as grooming rates. We move a lot and have had to seek out veterinarians in every new place we land in. I approach this task each time with trepidation, but Clark County Veterinary Clinic has been a great find. Nothing is more frustrating than ending up with a high-priced vet who gives you a disappointed look when you even inquire about cost, or on the other end, an inexpensive vet who gives you doubts of their thoroughness. Let me cut to the chase as to what impresses me: 1) The vets treat my animals without pushing expensive products or additional unneeded services/treatments. 2) Sometimes they'll give me advice by phone when i'm not sure if anything is wrong, instead of always demanding an immediate office visit. Seriously, how great is that? They manage to tow the line between being super professional vets when it Read Less

We have been taking our animals to Dr. Castle since he opened his office at Hud Road. Our dog immediately took to him (we had previously experimented with several other veterinarians and she did not relax around them). Dr. Castle is professional and compassionate. He does not rush when treating his clients, nor act condescendingly toward people. He was the veterinarian who had to put our beloved Peaches out of her suffering. He and the front desk workers were sympathetic and exceedingly understanding during this sorrowful ordeal. I would highly recommend Dr. Castle to anyone! Read Less

I started taking my pets to Dr Castle when I had an ill dog that I got from the pound. The Vet I saw first said I should put her down because she had a disease that would most likely going to cause her to die. I just got her and had already fell in love with her so I wanted a second opinion. I made an appointment with Dr Castle and he verified she had this illness but was very supportive and let me know the options of trying to cure her. This was in August and by December she was cured. She is healthy and happy and living today 3 years later. I trust him with all my pets needs and my pets adore him as well. Read Less

Dr. Castle and his staff are caring, respectful and knowledgable. As a former veterinary technician myself, I am VERY critical of the care of my pets. After unsuccessfully treating my dog for a long illness myself, I took him to Dr. Castle. He was respectful of me and incredibly caring toward my dog. When it was determined that my dog's illness was untreatable, and I made the decision to end his suffering, Dr. Castle and his staff were very supportive.

I intend on making the Clark County Veterinary Clinic my primary vet for my fur babies and would definitely recommend their services to my friends. Read Less

I have since gotten another dog, and Dr. Castle will remain his vet. Read Less
