I am in animal rescue and familiar with many vets. Dr. Pirie is the best. He saved the life of a little shelter dog that I brought in that had been severely injured. This little Poodle, Trooper is now the love of my life. Dr. Pirie has a kind heart and compassion towards animals and it shows in the care he gives them. His staff is wonderful and friendly. I make the drive from Baton Rouge to Baker, but I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else. Love this place and so does my furry babies. Read Less

Dr. Pirie is very kind and helpful. His staff is excellent! They scheduled an urgent appointment, kept my cat calm and happy during the visit, and thoroughly explained her ailment and the necessary treatments. My cat became ill suddenly, and this was the first open appointment I could book. What I really appreciate is this facility's genuine concern and passion for animals. I never felt pressured into extra services or products. I plan on switching to Baker Animal Hospital for my cat's year-round care. Read Less

Dr. Pirie and his staff literally saved Precious' life. He had me bring her in immediately upon being given a description of her symptoms. She was so sick I had to leave her with them so they could start treatment. Dr. Pirie called me within the hour to let me know Precious' blood glucose levels were dangerously high. She had to stay at the hospital for 4 days and 3 nights during which time I was kept abreast of her status. The charges for all of the services were reasonable. She required (and still requires) frequent follow-up visits. We have not had a long wait time when we take her in for these follow-ups. Regarding the handling of Precious, Dr. Pirie and his staff always do so with a quiet, calm energy which helps with minimizing her stress. Super vet, super staff !Read Less
