Hands down best Veterinary clinic in the greater Baton Rouge area. Doctors Eastin and Sydney are top notch from first exam to surgical aftercare and everything in-between. Management goes above and beyond to make sure both patient and client feel comfortable and cared for and truly feel "at home".
A lot of the larger clinics in the area don't bother taking the time to be personable and caring to make you feel welcome and cared for and about, and bedside manner seems like a concept of times past when dealing with most of the larger clinics around the Baton Rouge area. I guess maybe I'm just "old school" when it comes to the care, manner of treatment, and simple southern hospitality that I expect from my Veterinary needs. As a breeder of champion show dogs I expect certain things from the practice that I choose to vet my kennel with and OHVH provides me with all of those things and then some. As I said, management goes the extra mile to make you feel at home and welcome there, and that goes a long way with me. I recommend this clinic to ANYONE, from pet owner to breeder or rescue organization. I assure you that you will find all your needs met there. :-)

I've worked for a local vet, one of the biggest vet hospitals in BR and nowhere compares to Dr. Eastin! I never got the service, professionalism and care anywhere else! Your pets are part of your family and I expect mine to be treated as so even at the vet! Dr. Eastin took the time to explain everything she needed to do, was doing and post surgical care! My baby was misdiagnosed by 3 vets working at same facility. Heard an Dr Eastin and fell in love. My dog was much more comfortable with a smaller facility and her all around energy while working with him!! Wouldn't recommend anywhere else!!!

Old Hammond Veterinary is definitely "5 Star" rating. Dr Eastin and her office team, go the extra to accommodate to patients and their owners. Dr Eastin, will tell you all you need to know, answer every question you may, not ever rushing your visit. And if by chance you forgot or need clearer explanation, she's a call away. Her staff will always greet you with a warm welcoming smile and care every time. You are never rushed. Appointments are set on your availability and a follow up call to remind you. They also will call to check on their furry patients and give you 100% attention, everytime, without fail. I wouldn't trade going anywhere else. Dr Eastin also takes in strays and finds them a loving home. What more can you ask for?

I went here as a first time pet owner and had a great experience! They were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I asked about a zillion questions and they happily answered them all and gave me lots of tips. My cat was very well taken care of and loved on. Much, much better than other vet experiences my family has had here in BR. There is a very home-y atmosphere here and I will absolutely be coming back.

Old Hammond is a great veterinary hospital. The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society has been sending our animals to them for years. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Dr. Easton does a great job with our animals and always answers any questions I may have. I also board my cats with them, and I am impressed by the attention my cats get during their stay.

I came to Old Hammond Vet after starting out at another Baton Rouge vet. We brought a new kitten in for shots and after 4 visits, still hadn't gotten a rabies shot. After several hundreds of dollars, they told me I stil had to come in for 3 more rounds of shots. I wish I would have went to Old Hammon sooner - they took care of me after being taken advantage of. I have had full trust in them ever since. We have been through several more rounds of shots for kittens and cats and illnesses and they have done an outstanding job. I dont know what I would do without them!

Hands down best Veterinary clinic in the greater Baton Rouge area. Doctors Eastin and Sydney are top notch from first exam to surgical aftercare and everything in-between. Management goes above and beyond to make sure both patient and client feel comfortable and cared for and truly feel "at home".

Your pets are part of your family and I expect mine to be treated as so even at the vet! Dr. Eastin took the time to explain everything she needed to do, was doing and post surgical care! Old Hammond is a great veterinary hospital. The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society has been sending our animals to them for years. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. After several hundreds of dollars, they told me I stil had to come in for 3 more rounds of shots. I wish I would have went to Old Hammon sooner - they took care of me after being taken advantage of.
