Very transparent about what they do, and the price. Competitive pricing, they are quicker than most places having things like their own blood analyzing machine which means a lot of results are prompt and don't require being sent off to a lab. Very respectful to animals in the event of death offering custom memorabilia. Doctor Mooney is very personal with the client and takes time with each animal he sees. The staff is really small which gives you a family like impression and good communication. Just make sure you are specific about what services you want and they will do just that.

Baton Rouge is so very fortunate to have a Veterinarian of Dr. Mooney's expertise,dedication , and compassion. He is the real deal. His service charges are extremely reasonable and he sincerely cares about each and every pet that he treats. I know one of his clients that on occasion will drive to Baton Rouge from Tampa, Florida, to have "Doc" treat his pet. (Me). God Bless you "Doc".

Love Dr Mooney....he truly cares about helping and he doesn't charge an arm and a leg. He treated my puppy who got Parvo in between vaccinations and he lived!!!! We drive 45 mins from out of town to see him. He has treated all our dogs. I'm so glad he is still open drom the flood

Excellent pet care and pet moms and dads love this place too. Dr. Mooney is very informative and professional. I would recommend this veterinary practice to anyone. They do not take appointments for routine care, it is walk-in first come first serve during business hours.

Dr Mooney and his team are among the finest in veterinary care in Baton Rouge. The care, attention, and wealth of knowledge they've got are unparalleled. In a world of chain vet clinics, Dr Mooney's just a breath of fresh air. He's independent, no appointment necessary, and his prices are reasonable. I'm so glad to have him care for my dog. I always leave with a smile and feel like I'm truly valued as a customer and friend. It's like family.

Best vet I know. We used him with my childhood dog and now with my family poodle puppy. We have used a few others when I lived far away but Dr. Mooney is better than any and cheaper too.

Let's face it... our pets are our babies and our vets are our "paediatricians." When it comes to our 2 children (one obese Beagle who is on a CRASH diet these days and another incontinent "$10,000" Bl...
Let's face it... our pets are our babies and our vets are our "paediatricians." When it comes to our 2 children (one obese Beagle who is on a CRASH diet these days and another incontinent "$10,000" Black Lab (literally - who knew such things came for free off Craig's list! She wasn't incontinent when we got her as a puppy, that developed later in life) - but boy does she RETRIEVE! If crack cocaine came in plastic orange balls, she'd be an addict....Anyway, the POINT is that Dr. Mooney is an excellent veterinarian. His prices are very reasonable and he's been our vet "cradle to grave" through 20 years of dogs. The office has the obligatory Office Cat and you'll often find a Poodle or the occasional Great Dane behind the counter, all very pet friendly. Please bring your dogs on leash and your cats in a carrier... otherwise expect to be mobbed in a friendly way.The ONLY problem is NO APPOINTMENTS. Unless it's an actual "Emergency!" the service is first come first served. Going right before lunch is just begging to wait an hour... same for late in the afternoon. Right at opening or right after lunch is the best time of day.

Very transparent about what they do, and the price. Competitive pricing, they are quicker than most places having things like their own blood analyzing machine which means a lot of results are prompt and don't require being sent off to a lab. Very respectful to animals in the event of death offering custom memorabilia. Doctor Mooney is very personal with the client and takes time with each animal he sees. The staff is really small which gives you a family like impression and good communication. Just make sure you are specific about what services you want and they will do just that.
