Dr. Thomas and staff are absolutely fantastic. They truly care about the animals. Also, they care about the human family caregiver. Recently had to put my little EllieMaybelle to sleep. Staff provided quiet, calming, and compassionate atmosphere while we were there. Dr. Thomas explained every step of the way and hugged me as I got ready to leave. I really cannot express in words how terrible this place is, but I will give it my best shot. All I wanted was one day of boarding so that me and my wife could go to Dallas for the day. They require kennel cough vaccination and said that they could administer this. When I dropped her off they charged me for the kennel cough vaccination and a day of boarding. I brought a bag of her toys, food, and a bed. I came back the next morning and to my surprise none of my food had been given to her, none of the toys had been given to her, her bed had not been given to her, and the vaccination that they charged me for had not been given to her. I asked the lady if they had fed her at all and she did not know. I had to wait until the next day for the receptionist to send me a record of the shot, which she said she could email to me. When she did not email them to me, I called to see what the problem was and as she always does, she answered the phone with an attitude. She then told me she could not email it to me and that I would have to pick it up. My wife picked it up and we did not realize until we got home that she had written a different name on the shot record and put completely wrong information. I can't believe that these people offer boarding to dogs but do not take care of them as they need to be taken care of. Dogs are very special to us and we want to make sure they are given the best care. I would recommend that you pay a few dollars more and pick a place that actually gives a crap. Read Less

Thank you Charlotte Mobley for sharing this. You know how much Amy and I love our old man Max a Black Lab 13-14 years old. About 4-5 months our previous Vet told us Max had arthritis really bad and was only going to get worse and she couldn't do anything else for him. He was given 50 mg tramadol twice a day and progressively worsened to a point he could barely walk and go to the restroom. We had issues with that Vet prescribing the medication needed and struggled with the idea of putting him down. I really didn't want him to suffer and told Amy it was time to make a decision to put him down. When we couldn't get the meds refilled one Saturday morning he was hurting so bad we took him to Dr. Michael Thomas at Airline Animal Hospital, thinking it was time to do it and our last trip to a Vet. Dr. Thomas X-rayed Max, blood work and examined him really good. When Dr Thomas came back into the room I expected him to tell us it was time to put him down and at that point I was ready to get rid of his pain and suffering. He said other than getting old, having allergies, and arthritis that's all he could find wrong with Max. He wanted us to try some different meds because what we were giving him was not strong enough for his pain and to treat his allergies. He prescribed 200mg Rimydal once a day, 1 1/2 tabs Apoquel, and 2 chews Glyco-Flex. Thanks to Dr. Thomas we have bought some additional time with Max. I have come to accept Max is just like the rest of us getting older. He has good days and some not as good. It's been about 6 weeks since our visit with Dr. Thomas and Max has really changed for the better. Will he run and chase squirrels like he use to? No, but I don't play football or water ski anymore either. He's 88 dog years old and still my best friend. I realize now that when it comes time for Max to cross the rainbow bridge he will let me know. I don't think Amy is going to put me down for getting old and worn out! Then again she might! LOL! Thank you Dr. Thomas for not letting us make the mistake of cutting Max's time short with Amy and I. Do we know how much time we have left together? No, only God makes that decision whether it's me that goes first or my boy Max! We decided to take our meds & wait and see! He has more compassion for animals than any vet I've ever used. He's always been so sweet, patient, & caring, even when I called him late one night when both of my dogs got into some baby asprin when I wasn't home. He saved both their lives & never fussed or was ugly about having to meet us up there late like that for an emergency. I don't know of any other vets that I've dealt with that would do that!!! Staff has always been super friendly & I love their groomer for my mini schnauzer as well. Most definitely would recommend them & give them TEN STARS!! Read Less

If you don't want to take the time to read this review, long story short, I wouldn't recommend unless you want to be talked down to like you're a dog. No pun intended! Before today, they were my first choice for boarding my dog. I had boarded my dog there 2-3 times prior to this incident with no issues whatsoever. The staff was always friendly and seemed to really care. When we arrived to pick up my dog, 5 minutes before 5:00 p.m., as I was given this time for pick-ups on Sunday's, I walked up to the front door because I noticed there was a vehicle out front and the lights were on. I pulled on the door but it was locked. I looked in and saw the front desk moved around with tools laying around. It looked like a construction site. I knocked on the door but no one came. I began to get a little concerned that maybe whoever was in there may have been injured or something so I called the emergency line. Now, I understand that I shouldn't have called that number, but in the moment I started to become concerned for whoever may have been in the office. While making the call to the emergency line, a man came around the corner and made a motion to me to hold just a moment. I hung up the phone and waited. Once he got to the door, he blocked it saying what do you need? I told him I was there to pick up my dog. He said ok, pick up is between 5:00-6:00. I said ok, the lady at the front just told me pick up was at 5:00. They didn't give me any type of time frame so I was under the impression if I was not there at 5:00, I wouldn't be able to pick up my dog. He said well it's just now 5:00 and you've been beating on the door for the past 10 minutes, I told him I had only knocked once, did not bang on the door, and hadn't been there but for maybe 5 minutes. He also said that picking up your dog doesn't constitute a call to the emergency line, which I understand where he is coming from with that. It still doesn't allow him to talk to his clients like they are beneath him. We went inside and I asked who he was and it was Dr. Thomas. I was floored that the Doctor in that office would ever speak to his clients in that fashion. FYI, I had never met the vet as we were only using his office for boarding. While getting everything together he had the audacity to ask if I had paid or not. Every time I board my dog there they make me pay in advance so I don't understand why it would have been any different. I know Dr. Thomas may think that since he is a doctor that he can talk down to his clients, but sir, you are sadly mistaken. Read Less

I give Dr. Thomas a lot of respect because he saved my dog's life. Also, the receptionists gave my dog a medicine that cured (temporarily) his skin allergy. I give them mad props for that, as well. I will say, though, that it seems like they do not care for their customers as much as they should They will not stay even 5 minutes after close to wait for someone to come get their pet. Also, I don't know how boarding homes go but I walked my dog to the cages because he was afraid of the vet and their boarding room doesn't smell like they wash it out too often. It wreaks of animal waste and that probably explains why some people's animals get sick while there. I must say, though, I have not had enough reason to quit them. They have saved my dog's life, helped his allergies, eliminated his hematoma, and fixed multiple of my animals. Until they give me reason otherwise, none of the negative aspects I have encountered have yet to make me change my vet. Read Less

We were very happy with Dr. Thomas for a while, even after boarding our dogs and one came home having lost a lot of weight (the doctor blamed his food, which whether or not that was the cause, it seems like something the vet would have noticed and taken steps to correct, or maybe call us and let us know and bill us for whatever he needed to do to get Huey healthy again). Unfortunately after this weekend we will never use him again. Our dog became VERY ill Saturday around noon. I called his emergency number a couple times and left a voice mail. Huey died that day and this morning (a TUESDAY) his receptionist called me to follow up. When I told her Huey had died she said he got my message Saturday evening. Not only did he NOT call when he got the message on his "emergency" number, but he didn't even call to follow up on Sunday or even Monday. Why even have an emergency number?? Read Less

After being "fired" from his previous vet(whom I might add I took pets to for 8 years) and other vets in town refusing to see him due his size and aggression issues I was very frustrated. This Veterinarian is so devoted to animals that its amazing. I am from out of town and my dog got hurt and needed surgery at the last minute on a Friday evening. He took excellent care of my dog. Performed a terrific surgery. And the price was so OMG for real inexpensive I couldn't believe it. Its a great clinic. The staff cares and the doc does a wonderful job. Read Less

This place is wonderful and a breath of fresh air from the last vet that we had with the constant increase of costs that they charged and the lack of compassion my last vet was never there and the wait time to be seen for a simple procedure was at least 2 weeks . Now this vet we love I called and that day we got in kudos just for that , the atmosphere was clean and friendly as was the staff there I would definitely recommend this place as a family vet to take care of your pet family they got a A+ in my book for friendly compassion caring cleanliness and very knowledgeable . We REALLY lucked out finding Dr. Thomas and his staff today. We kinda stumbled across him on here in the yellow pages and I can't get over how glad I was that we did. We found a stray last night that had obviously been abused and needed to find a vet that could check him out while we asked questions about what to do to care for him in the best way possible. They were very understanding about our need to get him in right away and made an appointment for us to see the doctor within the hour. Dr. Thomas and the gang were right there to take care of him as soon as we came in the door. Dr. Thomas was extremely friendly and knew exactly what he was doing. We were very impressed how caring they were about how to proceed with insuring his health in the future.
