I visited for the first time today with my 10 year old Walker hound mix. Cowboy is a grumpy old man who started being extremely anxious, actually petrified, of the vet about 2 years ago. He snapped and excreted his glands during shots- since then he’s been put in a muzzle and completely freaks at the vet (spoiled mamas boy 🤷‍♀️) Visited Dr Ritter today to check out a little lump- some friends recommended him after dealing with a similar issue with their elderly lab. Dr Ritter sat down on the ground, gave cowboy treats, and waited patiently for Cowboy to show interest in him. Once Cowboy sniffed at his face and wagged his tail, he let the Doc pet him. The doc and the tech were so patient and gentle and understanding, got him on the table and took a sample so quickly without any outbursts from my boy. They never once even considered the muzzle!!! Even though it was sitting on the counter the whole time. Very thankful for the extra few minutes they took to make a vet visit as positive as possible for my grumpy old dog, and so happy with his mental state on the way home!! THANKS RIVERSIDE! Read Less

I thought my dog Sierra Rose was acting old and slow because she is almost 11, but Dr Ritter found she had some abbess teeth, did a dental on her which included pulling 2 teeth, now she is acing like her old self, happy and lively. I am amazed at the difference in her now. We are both so happy with the results! Thanks Dr. Ritter! I have used RAH since about 1992. I've had dogs, cats & tortoises treated. All have received excellent care. Every one there is very friendly; always happy, except when I have had to put an animal down. Then they very caring, even sending a sympathy card; which I really appreciate. I give them an A+ I recently had my dog Oda May cut her leg really bad. We moved from the Bossier City area where Riverside is located, however, we continue to bring our dog to them because we are so pleased with the manner in which they have always taken care of Sonny. The are pleasant when you are there and Dr. Ritter is one of the best Veterinarians. We will drive an hour to Riverside because we are comfortable with their care of our dog. We love Riverside Animal Hospital and the care that they provide for our fur babies!!! The front office staff is fantastic and very knowledgeable - they take such great care of our babies when we have to drop them off and leave them there longer than just an 'in and out appointment'. Dr. Ritter is great with all of our pets and always takes the time to talk with us and answer any questions we have. The atmosphere in the office is very welcoming and friendly and the ladies up front have always remembered us and our fur babies without missing a beat. Their office fur babies always come and greet us when we walk in too - just an added bonus of this animal hospital :) We have never had an issue and have always been very happy with everything and everyone that works there. I have used Dr. Ritter for years and wouldn't trust my animals with anyone else. From the front desk staff to the groomers,you will not find a more friendly and knowledgeable group of people. I was visiting from out of town and couldn't have received better care for my Yorkie , Bentley. From the moment we walked in , we were treated exceptionally. We recently switched to Riverside Animal Hospital. We have been to two vet appointments there, and I'm so glad we switched. Dr. Ritter seems very knowledgeable and he really takes the time to talk to us about the problem and the potential solutions. He explains all of our options clearly. He understands the financial limitations to everything and doesn't push for tests or treatments after we inform him of what we can or can not afford. He does not rush and he is very gentle with our old gal, Polly. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the freely-roaming kitties are very personable, too. 7 year customer. I've never had a bill of $1200 until now, after my new puppy got Parvo. I'm not dissatisfied with the vet treatment, I'm dissatisfied with everything else. Extenuating circumstances depleted my emergency funds a bit more than expected, and asked for an extra 4 days to finish paying the 360 remaining. Was told that we needed to give Dr. Ritter a gun, the title to our home or car, jewelry, etc because under no circumstance do they take payment arrangements. I understand this policy, however, at some point, there needs to be some level of customer service. I've never been treated so poorly, especially at a place that I've trusted to treat my pet family for 7 years. If anyone has any vet suggestions, let me know, because I refuse to give business to someone who hides behind a policy that he's implemented to forsake a customer of nearly a decade. Read Less

Great service every time. As a new pet owner a Zeus we have seen the vet 3 times already. And every time the doctor is very knowledgeable and helpful. We even ran into some questions and the doctor consulted over the phone to save us the trip. He deals with all of our questions and really cares for the animals. One of the reasons I decided to get a new puppy was because of Riverside Animal Hospital, the staff and Dr. Ritter, himself. The care I see handling my puppy the staff treats both the dog and "parent" with respect. Dr. Ritter listens to me with my questions and then checks my dog for the concerns I have addressed, and explains the answers to me. With a full service vet I would feel comfort knowing if I had to leave my dog in an over night place this is where I would want her. Having a groomer on site is also a plus. She is not at a strange place but maybe she feels at home knowing her surroundings. In conclusion, I will say, "Riverside Animal Hospital is a good thing." Read Less

Dr. Ritter and staff are the best. They have been taking care of "my girls" for over 3 years and I trust them. Even when i call with what I call "silly" questions, they are always helpful, and no questions is too "silly" (am very protective of my little family). My dog was having issues late in the day, before the office closed but really to late to get to the office before closing. I called the office and advised them of the problem and that I really needed him to be seen today. After the receptionist spoke to the doctor she told me to bring him on in. The staff stayed and waited on us to get there and was very professional when we did arrive. The doctor was very helpful and compassionate with our dog. I left feeling like I knew what was wrong with him and with a treatment plan with options on how to get him back where he belonged. We did not feel rushed to get out and were there after hours. We were visiting from out of town and will be here for approximately 6 months, I like this office staff and vet more than I like the one in my hometown. Read Less
