I hit a puppy in the road when I came around a corner and she was there. I picked up the puppy and took her to this clinic because it was close. They started treating the puppy but I had an appointment I was late for so I told them I would be back shortly. When I returned, they told me I would have to pay an exorbitant fee for them to treat the dog for shock and a broken leg. I told them I could only pay some now and the rest when I got paid again. That vet told me she would unplug that puppy from treatment if I didn't pay in full right then. I couldn't, so they gave me back the puppy and charged me for seeing her. I would never go anywhere else. The doctors and staff not only take care of your pet with the highest level of care but they also show you unbelievable compassion and encouragement. I was on the road almost in Texas when my grandson called to share that my little Lola was bleeding very bad. I called the office to tell them she was coming in the office and why. I could not stop crying. When Lola arrived the doctor called me and was so compassionate. After my little Lola was no longer with us the doctor called me to assure me that she didn't suffer in anyway and that she was never alone. Pleasently suprised with the price of baths and nail clippings here. The employees are so nice and understanding. Our pup is part of thr family. My husband & I inherited our daughter's chihuahua. 2 yrs ago we built our retirement home & moved to the country. The dog developed a skin irritation & our Vet at the time put her on prednisone. It would go away & then come back, & like humans, they can't stay on steroids. We got tired of no "permanent" solution so we brought her to Dr McCutcheon at Live Oak Animal Hospital. She diagnosed her with the same skin irritation but she put her on another drug, we're calling the "magical" pill. It works great & she has the prettiest coat now. By the way, she's also 13 yrs old! My synyster (cat) work us up early in the morning screaming out in pain. We got to the vet right as they were opening. They took him in no problem. They keep him that day saying they would have to put in a cathidor. He had a blocked urinary track. They said that we would hear from us soon. And with in only an hour or so I got a call telling me they had already taken care of it and that he was doing great now. They keep him over night to make sure he would be ok and told me they would make him as comfy as possible. Which meant moving a nosey dog who wouldn't stop barking. Synyster isn't used to dogs. When we picked him up he was still a little under the weather but they had cleaned him up for us. Sense then they have called to check up on him to see how he is doing. My family have being going here for a while now and I'll keep going back. They treat my pet like there's.Read Less

Will NEVER use this place again... Misdiagnosed our puppy, and he passed away. Had to take him to another animal hospital to get the proper diagnosis, but it was too late by then. When we called live oak animal hospital, they showed no remorse and argued with me that she was the DR and that I wasn't and therefore I didn't know what I was talking about. That isn't something you want to hear after losing your pet. And the DR at Sherwood animal hospital in Baton Rouge knew exactly what was wrong with our puppy. Not to mention, the "DR' at live oak made it very clear that we would not get a dime back for all of her services and all the medicine (which were clearly the wrong medicines) she had our puppy on. For 3 days, we were giving our baby 5 different meds around the clock thinking he had pneumonia and would be feeling better in a day or two all the while, he was dying from parvo !!!! just a little FYI , it wasn't about us getting the money back...We lost our pet and money can't replace him !!!Read Less
