I brought my 2 new puppies to this clinic for there first check up and shots. The staff was extremely rude with the exception of 1 lady. While in the exam room I was explaining to one of the assistants about a problem one of my pups was having and she just looked at me as if I couldn't possibly know anything about dogs. Everything she said was with anger and disgust. I give 2 stars because Dr. Breaux was great. He was nice and gave he the meds she needed to get better. We recently took our 7 yr old pitbull to Dr. Breaux & he hospitalized her with dx of renal failure. After several days of IVs, antibiotics ,lab work & excellent care. It was determined that she couldn't recover. We had to euthanize her, which was hardest thing I've ever had to do. Dr. Breaux & his staff truly understood how heart-breaking this was for us & treated her & us with great respect & compassion. They made her final days as comfortable as possible & the end of her life as pleasant as possible. No one wants to have to experience this, but if you do, this is by far, the best possible place & ppl to go to. Plus the cost was unbelievable, the TOTAL he charged us was equal to what other vets charge for an exam & maybe one IV& a lab test. WHY, you ask.... My rating is not because of Dr. breaux, he is great but my rating is towards one of the nurses, she was incredibly rude, when I tried to engage in conversation she didn't utter a single word to me and the worst part is she was extremely rough with my cats. I understand that you have to do what you have to do in order to get the job done but she was unnecessarily rough, I even offered to help get my cat out the cage and she declined and continued to fight with her and eventually drag her extremely roughly by the scruff of her neck, I have never seen my baby so scared. I had to leave the room for a second once Dr. Breaux showed up because I was so upset. She basically seemed like she hated her life, hated people, hated animals, and hated her job! I don't think she's in the right profession if you ask me. I'm sorry but she could have at least talked nicely and maybe tried reassuring or calming my babies instead of roughly handling them and basically throwing them back in there cages when they were done. As many times as me and my family have used this vet I'm honestly not sure if I want my cats going back. And if I do I will request that this young lady NOT be my nurse or I will straight up walk out and never come back! Read Less

I've taken my animals to Dr. Breaux for over 10 years. He is an excellent veterinary. Yes, his office doesn't have all the bells and whistles that others do and there is a take a number system and a long wait. But, I don't mind the wait. I just want everyone to be aware of the "quality" service Breaux & his staff are preforming these days. Now I've used Dr. Breaux for years for checkups & shots, with no problems other than the grumpy attitudes you get from everyone there. I thought he was good at what he does. Up until an emergency situation this week. & I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. We have a munchkin cat, named Cat. That has been in our family since his birth, for over 6 years now. Cat woke my mom up early Monday morning, screaming & couldn't stand up. I understand things happen, I really do. My mom took him to Dr. Breaux first thing Monday. Dr. Breaux had Cat for 3 days, 2 nights. He did x-rays on his spine & legs. Said he gave Cat pain meds & fluids through IV (mind you there are no spots shaved where they would have administered an IV, & also, no x-rays of his head/brain). Told us he had brain damage, we should take him home & see what happens but we would probably have to put him down. HE DID NO OTHER TESTS. NO head x-rays, didn't Check his ears, nothing to give us detailed answers. Charged my mom $200 for it all. He was VERY persistent on us having to put him down. He used to live with my mom. So to make it less stressful for him, he came stay with us Wednesday night. He was walking (just kept leaning/ falling on his right side), talking, eating, drinking, purring CONSTANTLY, & even hissing/swatting at my dog. Other than his walk, EVERYTHING was normal. I automatically know, there is no way this is brain damage, so I made an appt with Animal Care of Gonzales for Thursday morning. So Thursday morning we go in, Dr. Rob does an ear swab & knows right away its an infection. Keeps him for the day to watch him. I pick him up, 4 medicines( for inflammation, infection, ear flush, and ear drops) more x-rays(got some of his head, which Breaux did not but still insisted it was brain damage), and $240 more later. WE are home & he is already walking almost normal for the most part. He will be FINE. This makes me sick!!! Had I not followed my gut instinct, or even worse, not been home to take him for a second opinion. He would have been put down for an EAR INFECTION!! I'M NOT SORRY, BUT BREAUX SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS. HE WILL NOT GET ANYMORE OF MY MONEY. Read Less

I have used Dr. Breaux for the past 25 years. During this time he treated my chiquaqua for heart worms. This was a very invasive treatment due to the extent of the heart worms. My chiquaqua made it through. He is the best vet in Ascension Parish and his rates are excellent!!! Read Less

I love this place! Dr.Breaux is such a kind person, he is so gentle with all my pets and I am not afraid to leave them with him. Many people complain about the long wait.... they are right you do have to wait BUT I love coming here and so does my wallet. One thing I have to say is that I TRUST Dr.Breaux I don't have to worry about him dreaming up some illness and charging me out the wazoo! I know he wants what is best for me and my pets! Read Less

Dr. Breaux was our vet for 10 years, and through five dogs and a cat. Make sure your arrive early, but he's the absolute best we've ever had, and well worth the wait. We recently moved to Texas and wish we could have taken him with us. He loves all animals, his staff is compassionate and they treat you like family.
