Metairie Small Animal Hospital has been serving the New Orleans metropolitan area for over 65 years. MSAH is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for all of your emergency care needs, including all holidays. Our Main Hospital is fully equipped to handle even the most severe emergencies, so please do not hesitate to call us at any time to speak with a doctor about your concerns. For 24-hour emergency care, call 835-4266.

My wife and I have gone to Metairie Small Animal Hospital for 30 years. We have had 15 cats over the years and depend on this clinic facility to keep our kids in good health and they do. Although the cost of services, depending on the illness can be costly you get what you pay for, exceptional care and service. Nothing is cheap these days but the love received from your 4 legged kids can't be bought but you can take care of that love through the best available care at Metairie Small Animal Clinic. Doctor Mayer is our primary and we highly recommend him for your 4 legged kids. We just called this morning for an appointment and we were given one for today, that's service~! Purrr-fecto~!

I had a pet that couldn't urinate and I was frantic, so I grabbed my fur-baby and brought him here. At first, the receptionist gave me these outrages prices (I'm sure it was for "worse case scenario")...
I had a pet that couldn't urinate and I was frantic, so I grabbed my fur-baby and brought him here. At first, the receptionist gave me these outrages prices (I'm sure it was for "worse case scenario"), and my heart stopped. I was very very VERY low on funds and I didn't know what I was going to do to help my baby. She very kind and suggested that they do an exam first and see what the issue was before proceeding any further. The cost of the exam, although still reasonable, was still out of my price range. She also suggested that once we knew what was wrong, I should take him to a "low cost vet". How nice of her! You don't hear that often coming from a clinic. At this point, I started to cry. I just couldn't let my baby suffer and die! The receptionist was so kind, patient, and worked with me while we figured out the finances. I was so embarrassed that I don't make a lot of money as a Caregiver and that they had to deal with a crying Mommy, but they helped my baby and the vet, himself, Dr. Siggle (?) and his assistant, were so kind and helpful. Yes they aren't "low cost" but they care and that, to me, is worth more than anything I'll have to pay. I will be back here (hopefully not under another emergency) for my pet care. They were amazing and I couldn't thank them enough for all that they did for my baby and me.

I really love all the vets here. I've been coming here for a very long time. Saw Dr. John Martin for many years and was so sad to see him go......Dr. Joe treated my Husky Andy who had multiple health issues and was great. It would be hard to recommend any one vet in particular they are all AWESOME!

Had an emergency situation 7am on a Sunday and they were able to see my dog right away. Staff was VERY friendly and attentive. Doctors were great, they listened to and acknowledged all of my concer...
Had an emergency situation 7am on a Sunday and they were able to see my dog right away. Staff was VERY friendly and attentive. Doctors were great, they listened to and acknowledged all of my concerns. They automatically sent the visit records to my regular vet wich was great. Highly recommended!!!

We are moving back to Nola and keeping Jack, our beagle, happy is our priority! He has no business around movers and carpenters so 2 days of doggie day care and a day of grooming was the most wonderful thing for him. Everyone that worked there was so pleasant and made me feel welcome. Msah was a life saver and we will definitely be using you all when we need boarding and veterinary services! Thanks!!

Vet and owner insulted my friend for questioning their pricing and methods and came at her for waiting a few days to bring her dog in as her income doesn't budget rape prices . She drove an hour very ...
Vet and owner insulted my friend for questioning their pricing and methods and came at her for waiting a few days to bring her dog in as her income doesn't budget rape prices . She drove an hour very cold rain on a Sunday because she loves her dog ; the fact she wanted to be sure he was in fact needing of vet Rude and perhaps if prices were more affordable more people could budget for them ! When not one formal test other than a finger in dogs butt to get some fecal cost 100 bucks and then formal tests would be double a regular office visit there is a problem. Tests done at regular visits or er still have to be sent off so why double price for the collect of the sample ? We need an affordable solution for pet care With no attitudes or insults.

We had to find a place at 8:00 pm to put my cat to sleep. I went to another place before coming here. The other place seemed cold with no compassion. I knew immediately when we walked in the doors at MSAH, that we were in the right place for my cat to cross over. The staff, along with the veterinarian, understood the pain we were going through. They were compassionate, kind, professional, explained the process and truly cared about my baby and me (and my mother). I highly recommend MSAH for all of your pet's needs.

I have taken all my pets here for years. They have seen me from puppyhood and kittenhood to adulthood, and the ultimate good bye. I have been through surgeries and cancer treatments with my "kids" and the fine staff at MSAH. I could never imagine taking a pet or any animal in need of care anywhere else than there. They care for pets and their people.
