I came in last Monday night, April 30th, with my beautiful Sandy Beth....she was my 14 year old dachshund mix. When we got there it was evident that it was an emergency. Dr. Ryan and Lindsay took her immediately to assess her, draw blood and take x-rays. Unfortunately I was given the absolute worst news I could ever hear....Sandy had congestive heart failure and was suffering terribly. The decision had to be made to let her rest. Dr. Ryan and Lindsey did not let that be t...he end of their responsibility.....the compassion they showed my sister, daughter and me was outstanding. Although I was basically unconsolable they did everything possible. Today we picked up Sandy's remains and again I lost it. Instead of rushing us out they put us in a room to grieve. I absolutely hate that I had to go through this but I am grateful it was with them. THANK YOU! I brought one of my guinea pics in about a week ago because he was having some breathing issues, and they were very helpful and did everything they possibly could to help the little guy out, but unfortunately the next morning he passed away (no fault of theirs). On this day 1 year ago, I had to have my beloved Molly put to sleep. It’s been a very painful adjustment without her. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but Dr. Angie Sanders from Lafayette Veterinary Center should be acknowledged for all she did. She did everything she could to ease Molly’s pain and give her a better quality of life in her last days. At the end, she came to my house and with tears in her eyes she was able to ease Molly very peacefully into a bette...r place. She was gentle, kind, compassionate, and loving towards Molly, and also to me. I could not have had a better person by my side as I went through that. I will forever be grateful to her for all she did for us. I’ve been walking down memory lane thinking about the fun times I had with my Molly.... She was quite the traveler and loved to go on trips. Her very first trip was when she was 6 weeks old and we drove to Ft. Benning Georgia to see my son graduate from boot camp. We also made frequent trips to Houston, San Antonio, and Florida. One time we made a long trip through the Ozark Mountains to visit my cousin who lives on the border of Arkansas and Missouri. I got lost in the mountains and was so thankful she was with me. She had a ferocious bark that scared most people. There were many times that she used that bark to warn me and protect me. It really didn’t matter where we went. All she cared about was being with me. She watched me like a hawk and if I made even the slightest movement, she was up and ready to follow me wherever I would go. If I was outside working in the yard, she would always stay right next to me. She never took her eyes off of me, and they were so expressive that at times I felt that I knew what she was thinking. It was that unconditional love and constant companionship for almost 15 years that I’ve missed the most. I had no idea this 24/7 vet clinic existed and I am so grateful to know of them now. Everyone (from the person who greets you and your pet as you walk in, to the intake nurses, to the vets) receives you with genuine concern. The clinic operates like a well-oiled machine and the personal follow-up is extraordinary. I received three phones calls (2 from the vets and 1 from the nurse) within just a few hours of bringing my dog in and leaving him there for overnight treatment. These people here have such good hearts. My cat went into labor and had severe complications to where she couldn't birth them and she was going to end up dying. We came in at 4am and Dr. Tony Nauta helped us out, he was so understanding. He reduced the price of our bill by over half of what it was originally after talking to him about our financial situation. They took very good care of her during and after her surgery. When I initially picked LVCC for my pets' care, it was because of convenience. I loved that they were open late because I work during the day, making it hard for me to schedule daytime appointments. Even if they were to now change their hours and only be open 8-5, I would gladly miss work to still see these amazing doctors, nurses and patient care techs. From the moment you walk into the doors you are greeted like family. They go above and behind for my four-legged babies and for that I am forever grateful. Would give it zero stars if I could. I had recently taken my cat here to have him boarded, and when I came to pick him up I noticed that his blankets and food had been left in his bag the same way I packed them. When we got home he immediately went to his bowl and started eating like he hadn't eaten in days, which leaves me the concern that he wasn't fed properly while he stayed there. All of this for $35/night, while the new place I have found is half that and the staff actually seems like they care about cats. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Read Less

Great place for boarding. Costs $30/day at the time of this review. The place is in extremely good shape and looks more like a resort for dogs than a veterinary clinic. As an added bonus they send you a text every other day of your pet with a cool update. (See my included picture.) Wonderful staff and doctors! I only visited once for a specific procedure that my local vet was not able to perform on site. The procedure confirmed some bad news for my dog, but the staff was so sweet to her and made it as comfortable as possible for her. When the bad news came Dr. Bordelon was very kind and informative, and sat and answered any questions I had. When things did turn out has we had hoped and prayed, Dr Young and staff were compassionate and patient as we made the most difficult decision a pet parent has to make. I had a wonderful experience with this hospital.. We saved a puppy from bad conditions and then things got bad so we brought him into the hospital and thank goodness we did because it turned out our rescued puppy named Buddy had Parvo.. The Hospital was able to work with us by not admitting him into the hospital due to our limited funds gave him meds and fluids and a great recommendation for a vet to follow up with the following day... We are so pleased to report one week later parvo Buddy has made 180 degree change and is doing wonderful and instead of showing he felt like he was on his death bed and today completely full of puppy liveliness... I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the staff of Lafayette Veterinary Care Center for all of their help in treating Jake over the last 14 months. Jake loved all of you guys and especially bonded with Vanessa, Doctor Patrick and a few others during all the time that he spent with you guys. As many times as Jake had to be poked and prodded, he could not wait to get out of my truck to go visit everyone there. When those inevitable final moments came this past Monday, everything was handled with the utmost dignity and respect and I will never forget what you guys have done for Jake and our family. Jake even went swimming that day which is what he enjoyed more than anything. We got to say our goodbyes with a very understanding staff in a nice setting. This is the most compassionate and caring vet I have EVER been too and I've been to a lot. (Used to own a rescue). I brought my 7year old pit to be put to sleep and I just knew it was gonna be this cold hearted procedure. We got there they had a bed made for him fed him a whole BAG of treats let him eat a whopper and a sundae. And the doctor even sat on the floor to give him his shot. They gave us a coffin AND footprint momentos. The doctor hugged me. It was one of the hardest times in our lives that was turned into a beautiful ceremony. I was immediately welcomed by the staff and was able to check-in within seconds. They have a nice area (slightly separated from other chairs) with a cart for you to put your cat carrier up high so you can see your cat! The appointment was right on time and they even had three staff members in the room to help make the appointment go quickly because my cat was a little nervous. The experience we had this morning was exceptional, and I have a plethora of nice things to say about Dr. Sanders and the staff overall. Maddie is typically extremely skittish in new places, but when we walked in she felt right at home! She was given treats, kisses and hugs. Absolutely impressed with all services and staff members who took Fantastic care of my baby Pistache! I can't rave enough about the doctors and nurses. My yorkie Pistache had knee surgery on both back knees and stayed in the hospital for a week. We were very lonesome but the text message updates and photos helped ease our pain of loneliness. We are faithful and dedicated to loving all 6 of our pups with after hours open till 10pm is a great relief should something go wrong. Best vet's office I've ever seen! They truly care and love every animal that comes through the door. They have a grooming salon and a pet resort that is attached to the veterinary building. The kennels where the dogs are boarded are very clean, large and comfortable. They do anything and everything they can to make you pet feel comfortable no matter what he/she is there for.I have one dog who is the nicest, friendliest and calmest dog I've ever owned ... Until he sees the metal table in the exam room. He begins to growl, breathe heavily, flail around, and basically becomes uncontrollable. They work together to try to do anything and everything they can to calm him down and make him feel comfortable. Unfortunately he requires sedation, but they're still very loving and friendly. Some vet's offices become annoyed and frustrated with dogs that get so nervous and stressed in the exam room... Not here. I would recommend this vet to anyone who is looking for a new vet, or is unsure about their current vet. If they're more expensive than your vet, I assure you it's worth it. They have an extremely clean and nice facility as well as all the newest and up-to-date equipment. Best vet in town for sure!! Read Less
