Lafayette, Louisiana
General Info
Orgeron Veterinary Hospital in Lafayette continues to be an important part of pet owners’ lives. Orgeron Veterinary Hospital in Lafayette offers reliable animal care services, including preventive exams, diagnostics, and ongoing condition management. The clinic offers a range of services, including vaccinations, early illness detection, and general physical examination. Medical consultations often address symptoms such as constant tiredness, changes in eating patterns, and physical distress. Veterinarians use the information obtained from the pet’s history and current symptoms to decide if further tests are required or if the pet should only be monitored as scheduled. Orgeron Veterinary Hospital provides support for dental exams, nutrition questions, dermatology cases, and post-surgery follow-ups in addition to primary care visits. The veterinarians in this area that operate on the sick animals attributed the specific diseases as seasonal. The animals always experience pain in their joints, difficulty in digestion, inability to walk and tender skin. Veterinary professionals employ laboratory tests, imaging referrals, and physical examinations to identify pets that exhibit changes in behavior or energy levels. People travel from all over Louisiana to the clinic whenever animals require long-term checkups or complex treatment plans. Every caregiver interaction ensures that subsequent consultations by different professionals are consistent. Orgeron Veterinary Hospital implements a care model based on intricate discussions and planning. The clinic gives owners the necessary information about symptoms’ origins and progression, thus empowering families to make informed decisions about the next steps without procrastination. The clinic’s recommendations are customized for the patient in Lafayette’s household environment and activity level, both in short wellness visits and long-term case supervision. The most popular services offered at the facility include prescription medication, in-house pharmacy, boarding, grooming, neurology, surgery, nutritional counselling and acupuncture. Other services are vaccinations and oncology. Through the use of transparent communication and high standards, Orgeron Veterinary Hospital gives pet parents confidence that their animals are in excellent hands. The team remains dedicated to continuous growth and community involvement, aiming to ensure that pets in Lafayette and across the United States have access to excellent care.

After reading the negative review I felt compelled to write my own review. My family starting using this veterinary hospital when I was around 5 years old. Dr. Oregeron and his staff have taken care of every one of our family pets. When I was old enough to be on my own and have my own pets I naturally took them to this veterinary hospital. They have taken care of my own pets for the past 5 years and I have NEVER had a negative experience! I would recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone who wants the best care for their pets! I took my little three day old Yorkshire Terrier puppy there to have his tail and dew claws clipped and they dropped him on the hard tile floor from about 4 feet up. Then they called me into the exam room to show me my little baby laying there dying on the table. I was horrified to see him laying there lifeless, just moments before he was so healthy. I had to plea with the vet to do CPR on the puppy. He finally did and the puppy?s heart was beating but he was fading fast. From the moment I walked in the door till the time they rushed me out was less than 11 minutes. Maybe they did not want the other customers to see that they had just dropped my puppy. The staff showed absolutely no compassion for what they had done. Derek, kid working there name that dropped him never even said he was sorry, then he just sat there at the desk chatting with another kid as I was leaving, never even getting up from his chair to help me through the door with my crate and mother dog. I had to leave that vet and then take my baby home to watch him slowly dying. I then took him to the Emergency after hour?s clinic where they kept him over night and was able to stabilize him. I picked him up at 8 the next morning and he was a bit stronger but within a couple of hours he was fading again. I called Orgerons vet again the next morning and I spoke with Dr. Calligan pleading for help for my puppy for them to send him to LSU Vet school for help and I was told they couldn?t do anything without Dr. Orgerons permission and that he was in meetings. I didn?t hear back from Dr. Calligan for several hours later and by then I had already rushed the puppy to another local vet, Carson Veterinary and Dr. Carson was great. As soon as my husband and I entered the building the very professional staff greeted us at the door and rushed us right back into the clinic area of the vet and Dr. Carson was working on my puppy within seconds. His whole staff was very professional and compassionate. He worked with my puppy for at least 45 minutes and my puppy is doing much better and has a good chance now. Time will tell if there is brain damage but either way he will be a much loved little guy. It is now 6 days after they dropped him and Dr. Orgeron has NOT even called me to see if he made it or offer to pay for all my other emergency vet expenses. My family and I have used this vet for over 20 years but we will never go back there again. The least they could have do is call and check on him and offer to refund all my expenses incurred to save the puppy they almost killed and the replacement cost of this puppy since we have no idea what underlying issues he will have from the fall down the road. Just a few weeks earlier I had called to set up and X-ray for my mama dog and the kid Derek asked me how many days she was pregnant and I told him but he set the appointment for her to go in when she was only 45 days into whelp. They told me after they had already done the X-ray that it was too soon that she should have been much further into it to get a good x-ray. They should have told me that first. Instead I was charged anyway over a 100.00 for something that was totally useless. These puppies were bred from high quality dogs with values over 1800.00 a piece and I tried to take every precaution I could for a safe and successful delivery. Because of not having the x-ray done at the correct date we had no idea the puppies were breach and lost the first 2 born. The last little puppy had to be delivered at the Emergency after hour?s clinic. I am still in shock that I took my pet to get good care and get his life off to a good start and instead I came home heartbroken and have lived in hell moment by moment with no rest and in fear of my little puppy dying. There is no excuse for a staff member not being able to hold a 3 day old 3.5 ounce Yorkie puppy. Read Less
