Pros: Quick and Efficient service, staff very freindly
Cons: Vet Poor bedside(? Tableside?) Manner
I visted Northshore Animal Hospital this afternoon to get yearly vacciations for my dog. When I made the appointment, I specifically stated that I was concerned about a tick that had been removed by our groomer. I arrived 5 mins late (I called to inform the staff that I was going to be late, I was lost). I was brought back, the vet arrived quickly and began the stool sample, and vaccinations. While he did that, I explained about the tick, also asked about some strange behavior I had noticed. He nodded and affirmed polietly, but never responded. He said he wanted to look at scabs on his ears, said he'd be right back, 3mins later, my dog and tech returned . She said my dogs test came back negative. I asked again about the tick spot, it was red, pustual. She asked if I'd like the doctor to come back and look at it. I said no. Now, in reality, I realize that the tick scab is probably nothing, and I had brought my dog for primarly vaccinations. However, I specifically stated when making the appointment that I was concerned , stated to the tech I was concerned about the spot, and the vet. I felt as if I was part of a production line. I understand the pressures of a medical setting, the schedule that must be adhered to, but I was clear and concise about my concerns and they were not addressed. I can Google "dog " "tick infections" but I came to a professional for an opinion about my specific case. This was not our families first experience like this. I won't be returning.
TL;DR
If you want fast and friendly service for a vaccination, this is your place. If you have any concerns outside of that , personally, I'd go elsewhere. Read Less
