I recently adopted a puppy and just started bringing him to Riverside. I brought him in for his first vet visit and he had a few minor problems (minor ear infection and dry skin) he was put on medicine for his ears and the vet had shampoo to help with his dry skin. A week has gone by since I brought him to the vet and he is doing much better. The veterinarian called me to see how he was doing and how the medication and shampoo were working. I would have to say this vet is the BEST vet I have ever dealt with. They really care about your animals and want to give the best care possible. I am so glad I chose to bring my puppy to riverside! The best veterinarian office on the north shore. When we moved here in 1999 they were the only accredited office which has very high standards for accreditation. All the vet's and staff great. Dr. Shannon Comeaux takes a lot of time to explain things. Very important : We have taken care of a paralyzed female possum for two years. We had a tough decision. She, Miss Tux, developed a major jaw abscess that wouldn't heal; she couldn't eat. I contacted Dr. Comeaux about putting her down and taking her out of her suffering. Dr. Comeaux gave an appointment and let Miss Tux cross that bridge. We are so grateful. We know they don't treat many possums. Then, the whole staff signed a sympathy card with Miss Tux paw prints. We just cried. Miss Tux got the same dignified care as our 4 Dachshunds and feral cat. You can't put a price on Riverside ' s care and compassion. The best doctors and groomers anywhere on the Northshore. We love Dr Shannon, she ha sheen taking care of our babies for the last 14 years. We also love Dr Ritch and Dr Maxwell. There is always a competent doctor and staff member available to help. We also highly recommend the grooming at Riverside. Carly is our groomer and we have a toy poodle that has always had a hard time getting groomed, that is until Carly came along. Been a client since 1995. Have had 3 Dachshunds...All had complete care at Riverside all their lives...Shannon, Jimmy and Paul are great medical professionals.  Staff are well trained and caring.I now have a feral cat who "adopted" us who is an annual patient. If you ever had a feral cat, you know what I mean.They have handled this very difficult feline with care and ease. She doesn't like people..but tolerates the Riverside staff.My last old lady Dachshund, Lacie, 19 y/o. will get her check up tomorrow. I'm very surprised by the negative reviews. I start going to Dr. Maxwell in 2000 with my first dog until she passed away with bone cancer. After her, i adopted a German Shepherd and i started to see Dr. Shannon just because he was better with females. The front office staff at this place is truly awful. They are rude, condescending and seem to have no people skills whatsoever. This was upsetting to me because I thought the actual veterinarian was nice and caring. But the ladies in reception were so vile that I decided never to bring my dogs back there again. Read Less

If I could give zero stars, I would for the front office staff. I believe the veterinarians themselves are competent professionals, but they lose a tremendous amount of business due to the inhospitable first impression and belligerent attitude of the front office.For background, the front office personal, aka they, were apologizing profusely to customers before my interaction and afterwards. They deliberately refused to fulfill our morning request after guaranteeing it several days and hours previous, became antagonistic, belligerent, and quickly adopted a very rehearsed us-against-them mentality. I offered several solutions to assist remedying their failure, but they were unapologetic and quite seriously the worst customer service experience I have ever had at a veterinarians' office.
