Acadian Veterinary Clinic

Metairie, Louisiana
General Info
Acadian Veterinary Clinic in Metairie remains a significant part of the lives of many pet owners in the area. Acadian Veterinary Clinic located in Metairie offers a distinctive approach to veterinary visits in Louisiana by focusing on the observational aspects of how animals explore and become accustomed to their environment. When they check in, several things happen simultaneously for the animals, such as medical scrutiny and behavioral responses to scent layers, floor texture, eye contact, and movement nearby. They also modify the examination flow by slowing or stopping it in response to changes in how a cat breathes and subtle resistance while interpreting and handling signals related to posture. Examinations consider several factors such as coat and muscle hydration, limb and mouth muscle response, mouth and body temperature, and abdominal flexibility. Homeowners are invited to consider recent trends and patterns in their lives when voices or energy movements around the house need to gather some data for further actions. Acadian Veterinary Clinic provides structured diagnostic services, immunization programs, and pain monitoring systems while ensuring aging wellness protocols and cooperative illness mapping. Flexible appointments can be arranged to fit the animal and household’s emotional capacity, either in one go or over several days. The use of diagrams, tracking calendars and photo logs which are investigators’ tools from visit to visit. The nature of follow-up care shifts from reminder to an interactive dialogue. Additionally, check-ins are closely dependent on settling behavior rather than just fixed intervals. Pet owners are given training on sensory regulation and activity resumption in pets which withdraw or externalize after intensive experiences. Acadian Veterinary Clinic offers veterinary services to the Metairie and surrounding Louisiana area by elevating awareness to support home routines in respect of the physical and emotional limits at all stages of care. Popular services at this facility include ultrasound, puppy and kitten care, diagnostics, pocket pet care, radiology (x-rays), vaccinations, surgery, orthopedic surgery, senior pet care and nutritional counseling. I found Dr. Frisard a few months after Hurricane Katrina. My cat had been attacked by a raccoon, and had a gaping wound on her chest. My regular vet had not yet re-opened, so I took her to Dr. Frisard. I was so impressed at his compassion (his prices were not bad either) that I began bringing my dog to him too. Now, almost 10 years later, I wouldn't go to any other vet. I love that I can call him after hours too. It has saved me a few emergency clinic visits. Read Less

Many years ago I patronized this place for years. I had a dog that would have occasional seizures.  One time the dog had a seizure and I raced him to the vet.  I left the house so fast I didn't have my shoes or my wallet with me.  The vet refused to open the door and admit my suffering dog until I passed him a credit card (through the crack in the door!) first.  I realized I didn't have my wallet with me and he said, "come back when you do" and shut the door in my face.  This was my regular vet!  I could not believe it.  I even filed a formal complaint but it was rejected because I didn't have it notarized first.  I will never, ever use this place again as long as I live. until you finally figure out that dr. frisard's treatment plan is one that requires you to keep returning. it all adds up. his clinic has no advanced technology. i did not even see an xray machine. he kept answering calls because he has no receptionist. in fact, he is the only one who works there. if you have an emergency, take your pets elsewhere or you won't get a diagnosis. also, i toured his boarding area and it's disgusting. most places have staff that takes care of animals being boarded. what bothered me the most was when he prescribed preventative for my dog. it wasn't working and when i finally paid more upfront to see another vet, i found out that what was given was taken off the market years ago. I've read all the reviews and disagree with most of them. Dr. Frisard has been my pets' vet for 7 years. He is kind, considerate and experienced. His fees are very fair and with barking dachshunds, I especially like the fact that we are the only ones in the office during our visits. He's a graduate of the best veterinary school in the south, LSU, and I value his opinions and vet skills becauseof his years of experience. My two dogs have been patients of Dr.Frisard for two years.Several months ago ""Spot"" was dropped by my youngest daughter and suffered a torn ACL ligament(same as a football player). I was sure this injury would cost a lot of money and require surgery, but Dr.Frisard treated him with several prescriptions for several months and ""Spot"" made a full recovery without surgery. Additionally, I'm a New Orleans Baptist Seminary student and despite Dr.Frisard's reasonable $25 office visit he has performed many services at reduced fees to help me out.Dr.Frisard is not only an excellent devoted veterinarian, but once you enter his office and his exam room you will know he is also a Christian minded brother as well. Horrible customer service. He is very rude. I brought my son with me and he stated that if my son got up from the chair that I would have to leave. My son was quiet and just was walking around looking. I was told(with a raised voice) that if he got up from his seat I would have to leave. I was there about 3 minutes and told him I would see another vet. I told him my son is communication delayed and I will hold him and he told me he didn't care if he moves he can't stay here. I will never go back as I have taken my kids every where with me and have never had a problem. My son is quiet and well mannered. When I was walking out he yelled at me and told me my son needs to listen to me. The point I'm making is that my son did nothing wrong but walk around so I did not even talk to my son, how would he not listen to me? Anyway he is a nasty person(the docter) and I would not allow him to come within 100 feet of my animals. Please, find another vet! Read Less
