Most importantly of all they are always good to Ivy (the cat). She hates going to the vet of course but they are always gentle enough to keep her calm as possible. I am new to the area and took my Cali Cat in because she had not been feeling well. I can honestly say that this is the best veterinary care that I have ever had for Cali. We like the Cat Hospital. I don't know if we love it because we haven't been much, but the vet we met with was knowledgeable and caring. We have an elderly cat who has been gradually losing weight for years. We've run all sorts of tests on him at the Cat Hospital and they prescribed special foods for him. Nothing came up on the tests and the diet change hasn't helped any weight gain. The vet was very honest about our options and very understanding about our decision. This was over a year ago, and unfortunately not much has changed with our kitty, but he's still going strong! We did bring him to a few other vets for additional tests and opinions, and unfortunately for us we were met with the same inconclusive results, but I'm glad that nothing was missed here. I recently brought my 11 year old bengal leopard cat to the Cat Hospital because my cat was experiencing severe constipation for several days. I had to leave my cat Gizmo overnight for some blood work & results from a biopsy The following day I was told by Dr. Craig & Dr. Perkins that they suspected that Gizmo's condition was much more serious & then they recommended Gizmo see a cancer specialist at Med Vet which I did & ultimately he was diagnosed with a aggressive form of cancer & I had to put my baby down because he was suffering and still having constipation problems. I was completely in awe of the compassion, kindness, & genuine love the entire staff at the Cat Hospital showed Gizmo & I during our crises. I have another bengal leopard cat the cousin of Gizmo his name is Cosmo at home and I will be trusting the expert Veterinarians at the Cat Hospital to take excellent care of him. My boyfriend and I together have 4 cats and each of them go to the two vets at the Cat Hospital of Metairie. We've taken our cats there for minor kitty needs and major emergencies and each time the vets have been friendly, helpful, kind and have successfully monitored our cat's health needs. There are two feline-specific veterinary hospitals in the greater New Orleans area. Having had my cats treated at both of them, I greatly prefer THIS one. I am interested first and foremost in a vet that fully educates pet owners on ALL the options available to them, particularly when it comes to elective surgeries. THIS clinic does that. I want a vet clinic that devotes their limited retail space to products that promote the total well-being of cats, rather than useless, overpriced knickknacks. THIS clinic does that. My cats have been more relaxed and calm during their visits to this clinic than they've ever been at any other; on his first time there, one of my boys stretched out on the exam table and nearly went to sleep! I'm a very hard "pet parent" to please, and I am so pleased with the Cat Hospital of Metairie that I go miles out of my way to go there. I am so glad I switched! Read Less
