Dr Kelly and her incredible staff have been taking care of my pets for more than 20 years. They are the absolute best! Compassionate and kind. They do not sell you the store but give very high quality vet care. Not only are the vets incredibly insightful and experienced, but Amy and Missy, the front staff, are very knowledgeable too. The staff does not just answer the phone but have the experience and knowledge everyone would hope to have in calling a professional vet clinic! I had my first visit at Lake Animal Hospital this morning and I am very happy that I chose them out of all the other nearby veterinary locations that I had considered. First of all, Amy, who answered the phone, was by far the friendliest person out of the other places I had called. She was very concerned with my dog's condition and offered me several time slots to choose from, as well as informing me that I could print and fill out new client paperwork to bring with me to my appointment to save time. She also went over details of treatment options and pricing with me so that I had an idea of what to expect. This was really helpful with me being a new patient to the practice and clueless about what the average fees were for exams. (It turns out that their fees are reasonable and on par with other clinics in case you were wondering).When I arrived, I was kindly greeted by Kim and other staff members who made Stella, my Frenchie, and I feel very welcome. I knew that we would be in good hands. Dr. Kreider and her assistant were very knowledgeable about canine care and absolute angels - I could tell that they adored Stella (and animals in general) because of the attention they gave her. She was very cooperative with them during her exam and tests, so she must have felt very comfortable too. I was worried that the testing might be an all day process, so I was relieved that I was in and out within an hour. Their schedule is actually perfect for those who work full-time since their office opens at 7:30 AM and closes at 6. Furthermore, they are open on Saturday mornings and even on Memorial Day, which is when I scheduled Stella's follow-up.Before I left, Amy gave me a demonstration on how to squeeze ointment into Stella's eyes, and Kim even held Stella for me while I checked out and brought her to my car since my hands were full! Not all places and people will do that, so it really did mean a lot to me. Thank you so much to the staff for taking such great care of us today. Excellent boarding conditions for my dogs. My dogs get to interact with each other during the day and go out to potty together in the yard. They sleep separate and eat separate. I sense my dogs feel very comfortable staying there to board and never seem stressed entering there or leaving. I toured the entire building and it is clean and well taken care of. The staff is friendly and they are there to answer any questions or concerns in person or by phone. They take my typed up and labeled instructions on feeding my dogs seriously and follow them well. They also return all your dogs belongings and will wash them if pets have messed on them in any way. They offer help with your pets and belongings when picking up. Front desk girls are super, super nice and kind. Shout out to Amy and Missy for being so very kind, friendly and making me feel comfortable leaving my pets there to board. I've tried 3 other boarding facilities/veterinarian Hospitals and Lake Animal Hospital wins as #1. They are organized. Kindness, listening to concerns and instructions and feeling welcomed as well as my pets feeling comfortable in the building and the staff goes a very long way. Touring a clean, well taken care of boarding animal facility without notice upon going in, goes a long way too. They will also give you the full price over the phone as well as breaking it down if you need a clearer picture of what you are paying for. Always ask questions, always tour where you leave your pets, always look around and always see how the staff treats you and your pets. The less stress you and your dogs feel when you are away is important. I have a veterinarian closer to my house but will board at Lake Animal Hospital. And if need be I will take my dogs for an appointment to Lake Animal Hospital. They are incredible. Our dog, Murphy, was so shy when we got him and didn't like leaving us, but was always so comfortable going there. The best vets in the city!! Very attentive, personable, and comforting. My dogs love everyone on the staff!! I also am very glad they involve you in your pets treatment. A lot of other vets today are making people drop the animal off and they dont allow you in the exam area. I am SO glad to have found this Veterinary clinic. I have been taking both of my dogs here for many years. I have a shih tzu who is a grumpy old man and they are able to get everything g done that is needed without any complaints. My bulldog thinks that he is a small lap dog and everyone loves to be kissed. They absolutely love when he comes to visit. They are reasonably priced and normally when I call they can always get me in any day I need. Love that they are open Saturday's. Read Less

Lake Animal Hospital takes excellent care of both of our former ARNO dogs. We started taking them there because they treated their heartworms, and we were so impressed with the level of care they provided. Never a problem getting an appointment, care is excellent, boarding is superb, my dogs are so spoiled they don't want to come back home! It's a bit far from me, but they support Animal Rescue New Orleans and therefore recently completed heart worm treatment on my adopted dog which went well despite the fact that it's pretty much impossible to get a Lab stay calm during 8 weeks of treatment. Everyone was very friendly and the offices seem clean and well organized. I've already got a vet in Uptown who's closer to me and I will be returning there but my experiences at Lake were generally positive and I would recommend them to anyone in the area. And kudos for providing discounted treatment to ARNO for their rescue dogs, that alone says a lot of good things about them. Read Less

We have have 6 dogs that Lake cares for and we wouldn't dream of sending them anywhere else. We got married in May 2014 and each of us had 3 rescues that were now all part of one big family. They help us on so many levels and we are grateful for the entire staff. In 2013 I lost my dog Saban to old age. We had him for 12 years and he was 15 yrs old. Lake animal help me through the grief process and checked up on me for weeks after we had to put him down. They wrapped him up in his own blankets and placed him in a box my son built so we could bring him to our farm in Mississippi and bury him. Not sure what the other reviews are talking about! I've been going there for years. They've alway been extremely friendly and reasonable. Pricing for visits, medications, and boarding are very good. My dog loves going there too! In fact, I travel from Orleans Parish to Jefferson Parish just because they've been so good to me. Read Less
