I came to get a prescription as directed by my vet. The lady at the desk had me wait for 15 minutes.. ( they seemed to only be able to help one person at a time in spite of two people at the desk.) then she said "its not your fault but next time bring a prescription' . And then as I was leaving they closed the gate on my car. When I asked what they wanted to do they disappeared ... took about 8 minutes before anyone responded but no one but the desk girl bothered to come out and apologize .. Dr. Sagrera is the best vet I've ever known. I trust her with my dog and love it that she doesn't over medicate in any area - sickness, heart worm prevention or flea protection products. She uses homepathic meds in treating the animals and it seems to be very gentle but effective. Wish I had known about the rabbit, etc. when I was there this afternoon. She has a good supply of food, treats, etc. for those she cares for. We live in Slidell but she is more than worth the trip. Will pick up some of the food goodies next week. Dr Sagrera is a miracle worker!!! With homeopathy, she has helped my dogs recover from illnesses and injuries without steroids or drugs. My first visit with Dr Sagrera came when my heart dog, Flash, became incontinent after being neutered at 9 years old for prostate problems. My regular vet put him on phenypropanolamine, and Flash was still leaking urine while at the highest dose of the drug. Dr. Sagrera asked me to change him to a raw diet, stop getting him vaccinated every year, and gave him a homeopathic remedy every month for 4 months while we tapered him off the drug. I love Natural Pet Care with Dr. Sagrera! I have heard nothing, but great things about her! Often about her saving dogs when traditional medicine did not. Dr. Sagrera is so knowledgable and helpful. My experience at Natural Pet Care was not my favorite vet experience. Dr. Adriana Sagrera was 20 minutes late to our appointment, not even in the building she was just not there. At first a little annoyed i didn't mind much. When she arrived i started going through my pets symptoms and what other vets have said about them. We had our regular vet send a fax of all of our pet's information and what she had found. Dr. Sagrera seemed to have no idea why our pet was there and it was clear that she had never read the file our regular vet had sent; no preparation at all for our visit. After reading the file, that she initially claimed she never received, her attitude toward the other vets' opinions and what they were medicating my pet with was, that she had never heard of those veterinarians so they must not be good.  She then proceeded to look at my pet herself and said, "What the hell is that?" while investigating and proceeded without explaining anything she was finding. While asking about my pets home-life she was very short and rude. If I couldn't remember something about one of my pets symptoms, she seemed annoyed and even responded with "Duh!" at one of our questions. When she was on the computer looking through a software that tells her what medicines to give. It told her to give a certain one that she said doesn't even work. At this point I had little confidence in her ability to successfully treat my pet.  In the middle of our visit while she was still asking about symptoms she said would you excuse me since i was late for you now i have other people waiting that i need to see could you wait....? By this time I was really annoyed at how unprofessional she had been. When she came back in 20 minutes later she seemed to be rushing and overwhelmed  that her patients were piling up.She eventually gave us some medicine and food saying it might help it might not and to let her know what happens...   I really want to be optimistic maybe she is a good vet and we caught her on a bad day. I hope the remedies she gave us help our little buddy get better. To make a long story short her bedside manner needs work. I wouldn't recommend Natural Pet Care. Read Less

Today, I had the most unbelievable vet experience. Ever. And I'm so, SO grateful to the person who told me about this doctor. Her approach is unlike anything I've ever experienced. There are no scary metal examining tables; instead, there's a rug on the floor and a rocking chair. The exam rooms are friendly, comforting, full of toys, and you let your cat(s) (or dog, if you're not a crazy cat lady like me) roam free, which is SO much less stressful than trying to keep them on a table. Less stressful for you AND your pet.Talking with this doctor, I learned a ton about my cat's health, stuff I've never heard from a vet before in my life. Honestly, I wish *I* had healthcare options of this caliber. Natural Pet Care is probably the highest quality healthcare available in New Orleans. Which is kind of sad, but awesome for my cats. As it turns out, my cats don't eat plastic because it is crunchy and it annoys me, but rather because they're missing a nutrient in their diet. There's beef tallow or something in plastic, hence they try to eat it. Now, they're getting fish oil supplements with their food, so the plastic eating should stop. One of my kitties has this chronic cough, and other vets I've taken her to recommend expensive, invasive, traumatizing tests to "rule out" rare diseases such as heartworm and the like. (They're inside cats, it's almost impossible for them to have heartworm.) I was never able to subject my cat to these tests, because other than an occasional coughing spell, she's totally fine. She's happy, she's playful, she's eating and drinking, she shows no outward signs of distress. Now, thanks to my new vet, I've got a homeopathic remedy for her cough, which is the result of allergies. She's simply allergic to dust, and it's exacerbated by the fact that my roommate continues to smoke in the house, even though I've asked him not to. But I digress.Overall, I feel like I'm much better equipped to care for my pets, and I cannot recommend this vet highly enough. Her rates are similar to your normal vet, but the quality of care is far superior. Read Less
