Carrollton Veterinary Hospital

New Orleans, Louisiana
General Info
Carrollton Veterinary Hospital in New Orleans delivers veterinary care that evolves according to pace age and environmental conditions. Throughout Louisiana it helps families develop practical long-term health plans for pets. Every visit initiates with inquiries into household changes covering everything from new foods and supplements to variations in energy levels social behavior and bathroom patterns. Physical exams proceed from head to tail where joint function, muscle tone, oral health, skin texture, weight history and internal sounds undergo review and documentation. Carrollton Veterinary Hospital provides preventive exams and vaccinations along with internal testing while also offering weight and diet support plus pain management together with dental evaluations and in-house treatments for allergies as well as ear infections and mobility issues. Depending on a pet's age and health conditions vets might suggest staggered visits for chronic issues or seasonal routines for checkups. Healthcare providers might initiate laboratory tests and imaging studies when patient symptoms evolve over time or behavioral changes indicate more complex conditions. Upon departure clients receive both physical notes and digital access to their charts, timelines, and reminders. The design of optional follow-ups depends on pet type combined with condition severity and lifestyle factors. Households managing numerous pets or caretakers frequently choose grouped appointments or staggered schedules for ease. Depending on individual requirements, professionals might recommend either behavior plans or modifications to home mobility setups. Carrollton Veterinary Hospital endeavors to create a more predictable veterinary experience while reducing stress in New Orleans. Through the establishment of consistent practices combined with adaptation to Louisiana life property owners gain early action capabilities while maintaining awareness and receiving support throughout their journey.

I've been going to Carrollton Vet since shortly after Katrine. I have been very satisfied with their treatment of my dogs, and the dogs aren't afraid to go there. The staff, from the vets to the veterinary workers to the office staff, are wonderful. Their rates are reasonable. Even though they don't give appointments, I've never had to wait very long to see the vet. Believe me, if I weren't 100% satisfied, I would have moved on a long time ago; there are other competent vets in the area. Read Less

My 6 month old chocolate lab puppy started vomiting 2 days ago and I was so worried. I took him in to see Dr. Algero this morning and he was just so calm and reassuring. He didn't do a whole bunch of labs and xrays immediately and because he is so experienced, he figured that my puppy did not have an obstruction and that he was not dehydrated. I would highly recommend this practice. They have a lot of experience and won't do unnecessary tests. Read Less

I've trusted Carrollton Vet for the care of my animals for about 6 years. We've spent loads of money for boarding, emergency visits, heartworm treatment, and a very costly pittbull who seems to always have skin allergies and ear infections. When our cat died, they arranged to have him cremated as their primary concern has always been the animal. For my dogs yearly checkups, we alternate between the LASPCA and Carrolton, but needless to say, they are my go to place for a private vet, sadly they lost a customer today. I went in today to purchase our yearly package of heartguard, but was told I couldn't because I had a balance of $60 from when I boarded my dog during the summer. I wasn't aware I had a balance of that much and asked to have a printout. The receptionist Pam says, "you can come look at it on my computer." Strange and rude, but.maybe their short on copy paper...IDK. Upon looking at the charges, I see there were charges that should not have been there. While boarding, I asked them to check her skin and upon returning, I had a bill of $360. Just coming off of vacation, my husband only had $300 to pay, but told them they should not have done any anything without my consent, as I only asked for her skin to be check and that she be groomed. They did a expensive blood panel test and everything!! Pam is very rude and just a unhappy person who does not like cats (go figure). She says because I have a balance, they could not sell me the whole pack of heartguard, but only a single medicine. I agreed, figuring I'd be able to pay the bill in a week and then get the remaining medicine. I gave her my credit card and she charged me the whole amount. When I noticed the amount she tells me that she thought I wanted to take care of the full balance and I could not get the medicine unless I paid half the bill. I politely sat the medicine on the counter and told them have a nice day. This shows they do not care about the animal. Being that they treated my dog for heartworms, you'd think they'd care I was trying to get preventative medicine even if I had a larger balance. Andrea on the other hand is the complete opposite of Pam. Pam makes the business look bad and I feel like if she was having a bad day, she should've stayed home.Read Less

I wouldn't go anywhere else. Several years ago, having just moved to town, I needed to find a veterinary home for my dog Daisy. The vet I took her too seemed good, but when I went there a second time to get a new script for her heart meds he'd closed up shop. I panicked. I went to Carrollton having noticed their building several times. Dr Banta took such good care of her and even gave us a new drug to try. That drug gave us one more year with Daisy.
