I've trusted Carrollton Vet for the care of my animals for about 6 years. We've spent loads of money for boarding, emergency visits, heartworm treatment, and a very costly pittbull who seems to always have skin allergies and ear infections. When our cat died, they arranged to have him cremated as their primary concern has always been the animal. For my dogs yearly checkups, we alternate between the LASPCA and Carrolton, but needless to say, they are my go to place for a private vet, sadly they lost a customer today.
I went in today to purchase our yearly package of heartguard, but was told I couldn't because I had a balance of $60 from when I boarded my dog during the summer. I wasn't aware I had a balance of that much and asked to have a printout. The receptionist Pam says, "you can come look at it on my computer." Strange and rude, but.maybe their short on copy paper...IDK. Upon looking at the charges, I see there were charges that should not have been there. While boarding, I asked them to check her skin and upon returning, I had a bill of $360. Just coming off of vacation, my husband only had $300 to pay, but told them they should not have done any anything without my consent, as I only asked for her skin to be check and that she be groomed. They did a expensive blood panel test and everything!! Pam is very rude and just a unhappy person who does not like cats (go figure). She says because I have a balance, they could not sell me the whole pack of heartguard, but only a single medicine. I agreed, figuring I'd be able to pay the bill in a week and then get the remaining medicine. I gave her my credit card and she charged me the whole amount. When I noticed the amount she tells me that she thought I wanted to take care of the full balance and I could not get the medicine unless I paid half the bill. I politely sat the medicine on the counter and told them have a nice day. This shows they do not care about the animal. Being that they treated my dog for heartworms, you'd think they'd care I was trying to get preventative medicine even if I had a larger balance. Andrea on the other hand is the complete opposite of Pam. Pam makes the business look bad and I feel like if she was having a bad day, she should've stayed home.Read Less
