brought my dog as an emergency appointment on 3/29/2018 at 4:30am. He was breathing funny and I knew something was wrong. Dr. Juneau examined him and said his breathing was because he was in pain from an upset stomach. He tried to send us home without pain meds! I PAID 342 DOLLARS I said give it to him if he's hurting. Came home no improvements in fact he got worse. I called back twice because at the point my dog was crying. i was told by a staff member he was probably just c...rying for ATTENTION! By 7:20 am by dog had gotten worse. I rushed him back because he was crying and screaming, The new doctor decided to do and xray and my baby looked like he had a blockage and he thought it looked like cancer. At 17 yrs old I decided enough was enough and put him down. My baby died before the doctor could give him the second shot. They charged me AGAIN I paid another 360 dollars. I have been bringing my pets to MSAH for a very long time. The staff is wonderful. When boarding my dogs I always know they are getting the best care. Most recently my dog, Cody, was very sick with TCC and kidney failure. Dr. Daryl was great. He guided us through every step with chemo and fluid treatments. Lauren at the hospital was great in her care of Cody along with every staff member we got to know through our many visits. I have seen Dr. Mouney at this location on two occasions, once to check my diabetic dogs eyes and once to check my senior dogs eyes. I enjoyed her very much and was satisfied with her diagnosis and advice and had planned to bring all 5 of my senior dogs to her in the future. This past week, I brought another one of my pups to his regular vet for what looked like just an eye irritation. Upon inspecting his eye, she knew it was much more than just an irritation and said that I... would need to bring him right away to a specialist. My first choice was of course Dr. Mouney. My regular vet made the phone call to Dr. Mouney’s office at about noon on Friday and explained the situation. My vet was told that MSAH could not take him, but for $300 they could fit him in as an emergency visit. I declined, fuming!! Since SMAH let me down, my vet referred me to the Ophthalmologist that she uses for her own pets and he fit us in immediately!!! What a good thing because in a matter of an hour or two my pup was having emergency surgery for a detached lense. Because MSAH was greedy and wanted $300 for a visit during NORMAL business hours, you missed out on $4500 cash money which was the cost of his surgery. I will no longer be bringing my other pups back to Dr. Mouney for their follow up visits at the end of this month as I found someone who cares more about my pups than the almighty dollar. I love the staff here. They are very welcoming and always make my pets feel at ease. However, I would definitely not get any prescription medication from here. A six month supply of Sentinel cost me $78. My friend got a six month supply of the same med for the same weight dog last week for $41 from a local vet in uptown. A 12 month supply online cost $68. Had an emergency situation 7am on a Sunday and they were able to see my dog right away. Staff was VERY friendly and attentive. Doctors were great, they listened to and acknowledged all of my concerns. They automatically sent the visit records to my regular vet wich was great. Highly recommended!!! Read Less

We are moving back to Nola and keeping Jack, our beagle, happy is our priority! He has no business around movers and carpenters so 2 days of doggie day care and a day of grooming was the most wonderful thing for him. Vet and owner insulted my friend for questioning their pricing and methods and came at her for waiting a few days to bring her dog in as her income doesn't budget rape prices . She drove an hour very cold rain on a Sunday because she loves her dog ; the fact she wanted to be sure he was in fact needing of vet Rude and perhaps if prices were more affordable more people could budget for them ! When not one formal test other than a finger in dogs butt to get some fecal cost 100 bucks and then formal tests would be double a regular office visit there is a problem. Tests done at regular visits or er still have to be sent off so why double price for the collect of the sample ? We need an affordable solution for pet care With no attitudes or insults. Read Less

We had to find a place at 8:00 pm to put my cat to sleep. I went to another place before coming here. The other place seemed cold with no compassion. I knew immediately when we walked in the doors at MSAH, that we were in the right place for my cat to cross over. The staff, along with the veterinarian, understood the pain we were going through. I am having a problem with Brees though and would like advice from other dog owners of dachshund dog owners: my dog eats his poop, only when it's inside. We don't stick his head in his poop. I have been taking my bassets to MSAH for years.  The staff at the Lakeview clinic is professional but with a fun loving happy attitude perfect for creating a comfortable atmosphere for patients and owners of all shapes, sizes, and ages.  Most recently I have seen the more sensitive side of the staff. With life comes death and this unfortunate time was made easier by everyone at the clinic. They gave snuggles coming in and hugs going out. The perfect amount of smiles and tears.
