I am going to just write my full experience and let those who are reading be the judge. I was recommended by multiple people to take my very ill pooch (who we had thought got ahold of a turkey bone post-thanksgiving) to this facility. Oh sidenote: I am a not so wealthy young lady who bartends to get by until I can afford to go back to school, living my life working hard as most of us in this world are trying to do just to survive. After busting my butt to make a few extra dollars, I got up on one of my only off days and got Champ ready for his visit. As soon as I walked in I was greeted, the staff was extremely friendly I will give them that. I was taking care of pretty quickly, I was able to go and see the doctor almost immediately. I place my now, very thin and delicate dog on the table. He's looking up at me with miserable eyes I could tell he was in a lot of pain. The doctor confirms he's in pain, obviously. They take them to the back for a few x-rays. I sit there patiently, and the doctor comes back in.Here's where everything goes bad. The first diagnosis out of "three" was not a turkey bone but a hernia, where the doctor explained she is not comfortable doing the surgery. She she was very helpful and suggested another of that. But, after speaking to another vet there, she suggest another x-ray, which I am all for as long as my animal gets the right diagnosis. After the second x-ray, she comes in with a different diagnosis. She then explains there's too much fluid in his stomach and she would like to drain it and do and ultrasound. As any pet owner would do for the animal they love, I was open to anything needing to be done. She shaved his sides and drained fluid from his abdomen. She returns the different diagnosis. One diagnosis could be cancer, the other diagnosis may be a common dog disease. She explained she needs to send his liquids that were drained for testing so they can have a better idea of what they're dealing with. I agree and frantically, "Is he going to be okay?" And this is where the manipulation began. The day I went in, it was a Thursday, she explains to me that he will not be able to have surgery until the fluids were tested, which, would be Monday. She tells me that she is prescribing him pain medication and he will be okay just let him lie around high on his doggie pain killers and let him rest. And, you know, since his surgery will be Monday goes ahead and prescribes him 2 weeks on medication. They print me out my current balance and estimated balance on surgery. Todays visit, because of the multiple xrays, rang up around $400ish. His surgery ranged between $600-1000. We discuss payment plans, I make a $250 payment and agree that on December 15 I will allow them to withdrawal the rest of the payment. I bring my, now, little less miserable looking pooch back home to start his bed rest. The next morning I am woken up to my father frantic explaining he found Champ hiding and he had defecated and thrown up on himself. As an optimistic person, I insisted it was the pain medication, he can't be dying. I left the vet less than 24 hours ago. I call the vet expecting answers. All I get is "that doesn't sound good" and "can you come in 2 hours?"Champ passes almost immediately after I get off the phone. About an hour and half later, I receive a call. The vet on the other line, I'm choking back my tears and explain "he passed" At that point, I did NOT ask for a full refund, I asked for a refund on his fluid testing because, well, he's dead. She tells me "I cannot refund the diagnostic test because they already came back in" WAIT. HOLD THE PHONE. YOU HAD HIS RESULTS AND DIDN'T CALL ME TO TELL ME WHATS GOING ON? But, she works with me. Refunds the visit and an xray. Even though, I am left with 2 weeks of pain medication and a dead pet.I am very thankful and let them know to still contact me DEC. 15 to verify the rest of my payment.JANUARY 12, 2015: I receive a call from a number I do not recognize, its the vet, I have an outstanding balance. I get very irate and explain "my dog has been dead for over a month now, the payment was to be taken out LAST MONTH when I had the money. Although I do feel guilty for being somewhat rude, I couldn't believe this place called me a month after my payment was suppose to be taken out to say I still owed money. NO. You were given permission to take it out a month ago. I told them to give me a call back in a month where I'll pay the rest of my visit for a dog that was sent home to die. I understand animals don't talk, a vet has a tough job, but sending me home with false hope and non-refundable pain medication is ridiculous. TWO WEEKS of pain medication and he didn't last TWO DAYS. Then, to not even have the common decency to CALL the owner when lab results come in? No amount of complaining or crying will bring my Champ back, just take this as a warning. Read Less
