I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. These guys always take great care of my little furry loved ones. They also spay and neuter feral cats for $35, which is great when you have an angry feral cat in a trap and all you want to do is get him/her fixed and released back where they came from. Our baby, Colby, absolutely loves Dr Julie and her staff! (he whines in the room as he waits for them to come back in lol) As most labs, he's super high energy, so to examine him isn't an easy task. Spent years looking for a good vet, finally found a great vet family thanks to a recommendation from a friend! Didn't know we had a flea allergy and within a few weeks of getting one of our babies on the right pill and a few weeks of antibiotics, she started acting like our old baby, running round like a pup again. After her second monthly pill, she started playing with her old toy, one she hasn't touched in years! Dr Julie diagnosed her almost right on the spot, something when we brought our babies for their yearly shots, those vets didn't say a word. We definitely love our new vet family! Unfortunately, I had to have one of my furr babies put to sleep (RIP Puffin), but as awful as that was for me, Dr. Julie and Wayne were very empathetic and compassionate, not only to my pet but to me. I could tell that this was very upsetting for them as well. It really set well with me that they truly care about animals and love them. My dog had an injury that they took care of too. This is definitely a facility that has a great team for caring for my pets. I trust completely that they are in the best hands. I never feel rushed either. Boarded our samson and diliah here for a week. The facility was clean and the staff were friendly. Wayne and staff did a great job day in and day out taking care of our puppies and even posted a picture on Facebook when we needed it the most. Highly recommended facility. Read Less

A few days ago, my precious little slice of purrball heaven was bitten by a dog. It was as scary as you could possibly imagine, and to make matters worse it was at 6:15 in the evening, and veterinary clinics in St. Bernard had closed. My cat was having trouble breathing, while also profusely bleeding from her nose- it was absolutely horrifying and we knew we had to get her somewhere FAST. In a panic, I contacted a friend I know from St. Bernard asking if he knew the best place to take her that I could get to the quickest. Wayne Mendoza recommended Pet Care Center on David Drive where they had an emergency clinic so off we went. I did not expect the level of care of genuine kindness we received. When my cat arrived at Pet Care Center we didn't even have to say anything- the doctors immediately took her back and began working on her. They had oxygen already set up and waiting!! They were waiting for us!! This is by far the most positive experience I have ever had with an emergency clinic and I cannot rave enough about how Wayne, Dr. Lindsay and staff went above and beyond to take care of my boobookitty. I am so grateful. We were able to pick her up the next day after she was thoroughly cared for and checked out- IVs, X-rays, overnight monitoring, the whole deal- and it didn't break my bank the way other emergency clinics have in the past. I understand that Pet Care Center on David Drive and in St. Bernard are affiliated, and I plan on ONLY going here with my animals in the future. I can't say enough positive things about Chalmette PCC. Dr. Julie is brilliant, thorough, and compassionate. These employees truly, truly care about the fur babies. I'm a member of Take Paws Rescue, and this past Saturday, I took 5 rescue kittens to them, and she stayed an hour and a half past closing to help treat their ringworm. They have helped me with countless animals, and without them, I wouldn't be able to continue with rescue. Dr. Julie is ALWAYS wanting to assist. Back in January, we held an adoption event there. She has fostered kittens for me. They're awesome about squeezing me in for whatever appointment I might need. I'm eternally grateful to them. I'm always SOOO busy and usually dash out after every appointment, but I hope that they know how much I appreciate them. Please support Chalmette PCC, and share their page on FB.
