What a great place with great people. I had Alex, yellow lab, for 15 years. He was at the end of his time and even though he tried to fight it, he had enough. Took him to Ascension Animal Hospital and they were very compassionate and caring on how they handled his last moments. I paid to have him cremated and with that he came back home in a very nice wooden urn. They even sent a beautiful card in which everybody in the office thoughtfully signed. I find Dr. Brooke very personable, here genuine care and concern for our family members (pets) is above and beyond any i have seen. My sweet rooster had such a hard week (turns out he swallowed a piece of his toy ball). All of the staff here really took him under their wing and really took care of him and treated him like one of their own. Moved from north Louisiana down to Ascension Parish a few months ago and knew I needed to find a new veterinarian for my bloodhound...Did some checking around and was given a couple of possibilities...called both and decided to go with this one due to the reasonableness of cost.Took my bloodhound in for her overdue annual checkup and the staff from behind the counter to in the patient room to the vet (Dr. Brooke Hardy) were outstanding!! Very kind and informative and gentle with my bloodhound....They were the epitome of professionalism in my opinion.I loved my veterinarian in north Louisiana and was really worried about finding one down here but after today I no longer have that worry!!!As to reasonableness of cost the annual check up and associated shots with 1 month of heartworm protection ran me $107. That is very reasonable based on my experience. Also they gave me a scrip for my preferred heartworm treatment so I can order it via the Internet and that should allow me to see an additional cost savings!! PLUS they trimmed my bloodhound's claws for free which is a service they offer to all their clients...it may be a small thing but it is appreciated!!If you live in the Prairieville, Geismar, Gonzales area and own a pet I highly recommend this clinic for all your pet treatment needs.
