In regards to Mandy q, clearly they are not aware of common vet practice and what it costs to euthanize an family pet, let alone cremate. Clearly they've never dealt with it for a human as well. Thank You to the Staff of Prairieville Animal Hospital and most importantly Dr. Gosh. The clinic has been taken care of my five pets for several years. We all knew my little Harley, (12-year-old Jack Russell) was near the end of his time. I too, work in the healthcare profession and my out of town work schedule of seven days, came at the worst possible time for my little buddy. Dr. Gosh and his staff knew I just wanted to be there for my little buddy's passing and they went above and beyond to try and make that happen. We kept in contact all week and on that Sunday night my work schedule was complete I was three hours away headed home when Dr. Gosh call me at 9 PM to discuss Harley's expected declining position which we addressed immediately. I have no doubt my little buddy was in competent hands and was made comfortable as possible the entire time I was out of town. I've practice medicine over 25 years and I genuine love my pets. I'm sad I lost my buddy, but I am pleased and have great comfort knowing Harley received excellent care. We've been taking our two dogs and cat here for 10+ years and absolutely love all the doctors. Our regular DVM is Dr. Goss and he is very open to any questions and happy to take the time to discuss any concerns we may have. Many have mentioned prices being high, however though the service fee for a given procedure may be higher, at many other vets anesthesia or other expenses are not quoted in the initial cost and ultimately the prices are typically the same.Read Less

Dr. Hidalgo has been my pups' doc since they were a few weeks old. Eleven years have gone by and we just had to make the tough decision to lay our boy to rest after a bout with cancer. The staff at PAH could not have been more caring and sympathetic if it had been their own pup and they loved on my sweet boy and walked with our family every step of the way. Thank you is just not enough... <3 <3 Dr Lance and Prairieville Animal Hospital...We were patients of Dr Lance until we moved out of the state 4 years ago. Recently our 13 year old fur baby was potentially very ill and dying. Although we do have a vet here in our new state, I immediately thought of Dr Lance and PAH. So without hesitation I simply called PAH. The staff and Dr Lance treated me like I was STILL a patient of theirs, even after being gone for 4 YEARS! Dr Lance took time out of his busy schedule to TALK TO me, not at me, about some tough decisions. He helped ease my mind and guided me to make the best decisions for our fur baby at this time!!! He answered all my questions and having pets of his own he could relate to my situation. He knew what I was going through. And that makes all of the difference, he has been there personally not just as a veterinarian. So, if you are not a current patient of Prairieville Animal Hospital you should be! Never would I imagine the amount of compassion dedication and love for our pets would be right around the corner from us.They were there for the ups when our female pitbull"Lucy Marie"was healthy and full of life,but really stepped up to the plate when she developed cancer and had only days to live. Prairieville Animal Hospital wanted to charge $219 to euthanize her (and carry home) or nearly $300 to cremate. This is a terrible way to capitalize on someone's grief! We decided instead to bring her to Dr. Breaux in Gonzales, who charged us *$35* AND allowed us to keep her in the car due to her pain. He was very dignified, caring, and our dog passed away in one of her favorite places surrounded by love. I am very disappointed and hurt by PAH, especially because a person never wants to feel taken advantage of while grieving the loss of a family member. Prairieville Animal Hospital will NEVER have my business again. Period. Read Less

Only trusting 2 vets in 30 years we were nervous when we had to make a switch. Our previous vet had always spoke highly of Dr. Lance Hidalgo so we felt he was the right choice. We were shocked at how wonderful not only Dr. Lance, but the entire staff treated our babies. Prairieville Animal Hospital also boards a limited number of pets so they get one on one attention which makes them guests - not just boarded pets.
