I don't even know how to begin. My advice is, if you love your pet, steer clear from that place. Drive around it if possible. I had taken my dog there because of her occasional cough. I was told she had a collapsing trachea and needed a stent put in. Dr Sod said it was an easy procedure, not even a real surgery, where they go in through the dog's mouth and install a stent where the collapse is. He said it was not even going to require full anesthesia. So given that my old doggo is my little baby, and I would do anything to keep her around a little longer, I didn't hesitate shelling out the $3000 the stent was gonna cost. But when I picked her up, she had a horrifying cough that would not go away, and a bag full of medicine that I was supposed to give her. I called Dr Sod asking him what the hell, and he told me that it's all normal and to be expected, and of course it was going to be like that. It has been two months since the "procedure". My dog's occasional cough has turned into a non stop coughing and straining. The cough syrup he gave her, on top of being outrageously expensive made her not being able to go to the bathroom for 3-4 days in a row. Poor baby seemed to not even know where she was. I regret taking her there every single moment. I always used to say I would let my dog live out her old years with dignity and not subject her to pain and suffering to prolong her being with me. Now I am stuck between an old dog that clearly still enjoys life and the same dog constantly coughing and hacking. Please, please, please think twice before taking this Vet's word about doing stuff to your pets. Read Less

I am incredibly impressed with Dr. Sod and the entire staff of the St. Gabriel Animal Hospital. My beloved boy, Toby, received expert care with unlimited amounts of compassion from not only Dr. Sod but from all of the staff as well as Shawn, the precious clinic cat and Ginger, the much-loved clinic dog owned by Dr. Sod. Before we left that afternoon, Dr. Sod asked us if we would like to see the facility and he then took us on a tour to let us see exactly where our Toby would be staying while in his care. He gave me his personal cell phone number and told me to call anytime with ANY concern I may have, large or small because they are all important to him. He is so personable and very approachable. He instantly made us feel like we were important and that our Toby was just as important to him as his own pets. He has such a calming presence and a gentle nature. I just knew that my boy was in the right place. I cannot stress enough how pleased we are with the care he rendered for our boy. Dr. Sod ended up doing two surgeries on Toby in the same day. After the second surgery was completed he called me afterward to tell me that he had to go back in and operate a second time. What started our ordeal is that our Toby had been operated on days prior by another vet in town, just a simple procedure, no big deal. Turns out that during the off hours of the original operating doctor, I felt we had an emergency with Toby so we had to go to an emergency veterinary clinic in town. The second clinic treated him for about five days until it became evident that surgery was the only option for Toby. It was at that point that we were sent to Dr. Sod's clinic because he was immediately available to take care of our boy, he would be able to stay with him overnight and through the weekend in his clinic (if necessary) so I'm not sure exactly how long the doctor was with him but I was confident that he would be checking on him as often as I would have I taken Toby back home with me. We were told that he was going to be able to fit Toby's surgery into his busy schedule on Monday morning because none of the surgeons in clinic #2 would be able to fit him into their schedule so off we went from clinic #2 to Dr. Sod's hospital with our Toby. I was imagining that we would just walk in, quickly fill out papers, drop Toby off and then leave to go home, especially since it was nearly 6 pm on a Friday evening. When we arrived, the doctor was in the patient lobby standing at the counter talking to the lady behind the counter. I actually thought he was a client who was paying for vet care or was picking up his pet. I sat down thinking we would be next in line and then the doctor started to strike up a conversation with us. I talked with him about various things for about 5 to 10 minutes when it dawned on me that HE was the doctor, the surgeon who would be operating on my Toby. I was astounded that he took so much time with us and put so much effort into making us feel comfortable and confident that our boy would be perfectly okay in his hands. I have never in my life connected so quickly with a doctor like I did with Dr. Sod. His demeanor, his gentle personality, kindness, obvious love for his profession, as well as his love and abundant concern for the animals that he is taking care of in the clinic is so evident and immediately puts one at ease. He easily makes you feel completely confident that he is going to take care of your baby to the absolute best of his ability and quickly relieves a lot of anxiety about leaving your baby there. We thank you and Toby thanks you for taking such great care of him and getting him on the mend. If you are looking for an excellent veterinarian with a phenomenal bedside manner and gentle personality, Gary Sod is definitely your doctor. Read Less
