PLEASE RECONSIDER TAKING YOUR PETS HERE!! I took my dog to get spayed here two weeks ago. I dropped her off at 7 in the morning and picked her up around 3:30. That part went smoothly. one of the vet techs called me at noon after the surgery had been performed and told me that my dog was in heat and it would be an additional $50 charge. I told her that nobody told me that when I came in and nothing was mentioned in the paperwork that I signed when I dropped her off. she reviewd the paperwork with me and confirmed that it was not mentioned anywhere. Therefore they did not make me pay the additional charge. They called me at 3 and told me she was good to go. I picked her up at 3:30. When I got home, I noticed that she had a bump on her back in between her shoulder blades. I assumed that was where they injected pain meds or antibiotics during the procedure so I gave it a day to see what it would do. Come Friday, the bump was still there and it started to look infected. I called their office Friday 6/3/20 to ask them about it. Nobody answered. I left a voice mail for someone to call me back. I never received a call back. I called them Monday at about 1 and they said they never received my voice mail. Dr. Brown asked me to text the office pictures of the bump. I texted them and she asked me if I could drop her off to have it looked at. I dropped her off on Wednesday morning. Dr. Brown called me at 11 and said she wasn't sure what this was. After she had her surgery, the vet tech said the surgery took a little longer than they expected because she was in heat. I asked Dr. Brown if it could have been the heating pad that they lay them on after they get anesthesia and she said it was possible, but not likely. She then said she would need antibiotics and pain meds. She also said she would give her a couple of shots of each. I asked her how much it would cost and she said not much because she wasn't gonna charge for the exam, just the meds. I called her back and told her that I didn't think I should have to oay for anything due to the fact that this did not show up until after she had her surgery. I came back to the fact that she stated that the heating pad was a possibility. She then tried to say that the heating pad is designed not to burn the dogs. They're safe and that this could really be anything, but she still wasn't sure what it was. (This was after she already told me that the heating pad was a possibility.) She quickly let it go when I told her that I didn't feel as if I should pay for anything. That fact alone told me that she knew exactly what this was and she was just trying to cover herself. I picked her up and Dr. Brown gave me antibiotics, pain pills, and some cream to apply twice a day. Since she "had no idea what it was", she wasn't sure how long it would take to heal. She told me that I could bring my dog back in for free laser treatments to help with the swelling and pain. I was suppose to go back today to have her sutures removed from her surgery. However, I did not feel comfortable taking my dog back to her. I called another vet and they said that they could take the sutures out for me. When I got to their office, I asked them what they thought the wound was from on her back. They immediately said it looked like a hot spot. I then told them about my experience with this office. The new vet told me that it was healing and I could just use neosporin on it. I will never take my dog back to see Dr. Brown. I wouldn't even be as furious as I am now had she just owned up to her mistake from the beginning. The vet that I took her to today took her sutures out for free and was very helpful! I will definitely be bringing my dog back to them. Read Less

If you own a cat DO NOT bring it to this place! I found a few bumps on my young cat and brought him to the Dog & Cat Clinic. Throughout the entire exam the doctor had a solemn attitude and seemed uninterested in my pet. She was not gentle with my pet and held him down very roughly on the exam table. After examining him she told me she had no idea what it was and wanted to do a biopsy. They wanted to run unnecessary tests for diagnosis and the fee was over $500.00! I decided to get a second opinion, because I myself am in the medical field. I brought my cat to the Cat Doctor two days later and upon examining the bumps for a minute, she immediately knew what it was, stating that it was a very common issue with cats. The treatment was a simple steroid shot and the Cat Doctor performed several simple checkup procedures that the Dog and Cat Clinic failed to even address. The Dog and Cat Clinic and Laser Center is such a wonderful place. The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff are very kind. They actually come and greet my animals. My dogs Jax and Tony just love them. The doctor did an excellent job examining my sweet boys. The technicians were very friendly and courteous to my old Jax and his brittle bones. This place offers so much to pet owners; they offer grooming, boarding, laser therapy for those older dogs like my Jax, and professional dental cleanings, which little Tony needed desperately. I never knew how serious dental health care was for my pets, until Dr. Valri Brown explained the dangers. I would recommend this vet clinic to anyone looking for a vet that is friendly, makes you feel like you're part of the family, and takes their time with your pet. Read Less

I brought my White Doby there to get lazer surgery to get multiple moles/tumors removed. My curent vet (Pet Care) charged $80 per mole. Being he is a white Doby and they pople we rescued him from left him chained to a tree in the Fl sun his sensitive skin go dozens of moles from the sun. The Dog and Cat Clinic did lazer surgey and removed over 20 (all he had) and only charged me $600 which is quit a deal if you do the math my old vet would have charged over $1600. and some moles that my old vet said couldn't be removed the Dog and cat clinic did remove. I dropped him off at 8am and he was ready for pick up at 4pm same day which is great. They all very very nice and seemed to not mind that my doby doesn't like to be in a kennel and howled all day. From my visit I recomend this place to anyone and they have a 10% Mil discount. My old vet said that my doby's ears were neglected for so long that his ear infections will never go away and didn't give any medicatin except for a simple ear wash fluid. I recently moved to Shrevport and was looking for a new vet for my three dogs. I chose the dog and cat clinic and now I'm glad that I did. Dr. Brown and her staff have been nothing but friendly to me and my animals. Two of my dogs have gotten neutered here and have both done great! When I brought my new puppy in for the first time they gave me a goodie bag to take home with him that had a sample of food, brochures, a dental chew(which he loves) and a heartworm pill. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone!! Read Less

Read Less

The Dog and Cat Clinic and Laser Center is a great place to take your pet. The staff is very friendly and inviting. I had just moved into the area and was looking for a new vet for my dog Sally. I went in for my exam, the doctor was very friendly and thoroughly checked my little Sally from head to toe. After the examination was over, she asked if I had any questions and offered me advice on numerous things including heartworm prevention, flea control, and even a better diet for my Sally. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who wants the best for their pet. Read Less

Don't go there!!! They put one of those cheap plastic leashes around my cat's neck to control her and of course she panicked, not a good thing when a thermometer is hanging out her bottom. They advertise laser but did not mention it as a treatment option. They only asked me if I had any questions at the very end. My questions should not be an afterthought for the staff. I still left confused as to how I should manage my cat's care, how often she needs to come back, and I am a medical person. Needless to say my cat will be going somewhere else!

The dog and Cat clinic Dr. has him on a medication that will get rid of the infection (I hope) Only time will tell but the Dr. seemed to very confident that this will work. Thank you Dog and Cat Clinic I will be a return customer Read Less
